Bomb Girls: Cancelled, No Season Three But...
Shaw Media in Canada has cancelled Bomb Girls after two seasons. The TV series airs on Global Television in Canada and on ReelzChannel here in the Us.

Bomb Girls revolves around a group of Canadian women who work in a munitions factory as they build bombs for the Allies during World War II. The cast includes Meg Tilly, Jodi Balfour, Charlotte Hegele, Ali Liebert, Antonio Cupo, Sebastian Pigott, Peter Outerbridge, Anastasia Phillips, Jim Codrington, and Lisa Norton. Rosie O'Donnell guest-starred during the second season.

Though there won't be a third season, Global has ordered a two-hour movie that will wrap up the series. A release notes that it "will conclude the rich storylines and the amazing journeys of these beloved characters which have strongly resonated with the show’s loyal fans."

Race Bending has a fantastic new interview with Carmen Moore. She talks about Blackstone, playing Fidelia in Caprica, how she got cast in Battlestar Galactica: Blood and Chrome (she will likely be a regular if B&C gets picked up) and some of her other projects, both old (Andromeda) and more recent (Two Indians Talking).

Meg Tilly Will Be the Star of 'Bomb Girls'
Global, a Canadian TV network, announced that Academy Award nominated actress Meg Tilly (Agnes of God, The Big Chill) will lead the cast of the upcoming Canadian TV series Bomb Girls.

The TV series will be in production in Toronto from September 12 to November 16. The premiere will be in January 2012.

Bomb Girls' story is set in Toronto in the 1940s, which means during the Second World War (1939-1945).

We follow a group of women who worked in a munition factory. Tilly plays, a supervisor at the munitions factory with two sons on the front; Jodi Balfour (The Sinking of the Laconia) as Gladys, a wealthy socialite who becomes a bomb girl despite her parents’ disapproval; Charlotte Hegele (Murdoch Mysteries) as Kate, a preacher’s daughter with a golden voice who’s running from her fundamentalist father; Ali Liebert (Hellcats) as Betty, a fast-talking girl from the Prairies responsible for...
