The Studio Behind ‘The Apothecary Diaries’ Brings a Wholesome New Anime to Crunchyroll in New Trailer
Image
If there's one thing that The Apothecary Diaries taught us, it's that there's a very good portion of anime fans who are willing to get lost in stories that feel wholesome while also bringing something new to the world of animated series. The show is slated to debut soon on the platform, and a first trailer was unveiled to provide a general feel of the upcoming anime series.

The story of Let's Play mixes slice-of-life elements with a different and possibly comedic premise. It centers on Sam Young (Kana Hanazawa), a video game developer who dedicates her time and efforts to creating the best game she possibly can. However, her world is turned upside down when a massively popular streamer gives her debut game a terrible review.

Anime's Underrated Spring 2025 Cyberpunk Series Is Inspired by Westworld
Image
Your Forma director Takaharu Ozaki confirms that the sleeper-hit anime was inspired by a fan-favorite science fiction series.

Speaking to Anime News Network, director Ozaki recalled how reading the original Your Forma light novel series brought him right back to his comfort zone in terms of similar sci-fi stories. "When I first started reading Your Forma, I thought of typical cyberpunk stories like Ghost in the Shell, Blade Runner, and The Matrix—I was thinking of cyberpunk movies from the '80s and '90s," Ozaki said. "As I read on in the novel, other works came to mind. There is a TV series called Westworld, which is all about what it means to be human," he added, before also referencing iconic films such as Kathryn Bigelow's Strange Days and 2006's French animated tech-noir thriller - Renaissance.

10 Anime Series & Movies Streaming on Crunchyroll That'll Change Your Life
Image
A prolific and multifaceted medium that has been steadily going global with its appeal, anime has an affinity to venture into all kinds of narratives, from endlessly engrossing action flicks to somber and profound meditations on the human condition. Within anime's many-sided catalog of unorthodox stories, some may stumble upon films and series that touch them on a level beyond appealing to baseline entertainment.

40 Strongest Anime Characters of All Time
Image
Some of the longest-running conversations in the fandom center on ranking the strongest anime characters, or who would win in a fight. These debates are likely to go on for as long as new anime air every season. Anime can tell a broad range of stories, and the nature of animation allows anime to tackle just about every genre of fiction, from slice-of-life to sci-fi. However, combat-focused anime (usually in the shonen category) tends to be some of the most popular and commercially successful anime around.

With so much combat in anime, it’s no surprise that debates about which character is stronger than another are a staple of the fandom. Of course, with more anime airing than ever before and heroes of ongoing tales constantly receiving power-ups, these debates can change from day to day. It may be impossible to say for sure who would win in a one-on-one fight,...
