Billy was certain that he could woo his estranged quasi-brother, Cane Ashby (Billy Flynn). Billy was initially contacted by Cane, who was posing as Aristotle Dumas, with an offer to regain control of Chancellor.

But the momentous events that transpired on Cane’s estate in the South of France appear to have dashed Billy’s latest gamble. Three deaths rocked Y&R, with two of them impacting various characters.

Aristotle Dumas Was A Mirage

Billy spoke with the man he believed to be Aristotle this summer. Viewers wondered why Thompson’s character didn’t recognize Cane’s voice during that conversation, with Billy claiming an apparent lack of focus at the time.

Monday, July 14th, Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) is bragging to Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) that she’s had a couple of private conversations with Cane. And yet, Billy has not scored a private meeting.

Phyllis absolutely rejects it when Billy suggests a partnership of the three of them. He’s also so annoyed with Phyllis that he tells Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) and Sharon Newman (Sharon Case) that Phyllis knows what Cane is plotting and walks out after he drops that bombshell.

Cane and Damian Kane (Jermaine Rivers) are drinking and chatting. Turns out the bottle of alcohol is drugged. Both guys get woozy, but Damian more so. Someone is watching them in the hedge maze.

Let’s start off with Cane and Damian. It is stated that Cane will confront Damian about Lily. Fans know that Damian has been quite understanding with Lily’s complicated feelings, especially since realizing Aristotle Dumas is Cane.

However, I’m starting to wonder if he’s a bit too understanding. Maybe Cane is right to be concerned about the two getting closer.

In any case, Cane takes Damian to a bench outside and hands him a drink.

The Young and the Restless episode for Friday, July 11, featured Holden comforting Claire after Cole’s death, Adam and Chelsea continuing their investigation into Cane’s real estate deals, and Kyle and Audra celebrating their perfume business progress.

Holden (Nathan Owens) found Claire (Hayley Erin) at Crimson Lights, where they discussed Cole’s (J. Eddie Peck) death. Claire explained how she had only recently reconnected with him, making the loss even harder to process.
