President Donald Trump has pledged to deport all the illegal immigrants residing in the country and lock down the U.S.-Mexico border. The White House even set a goal for Ice to arrest at least 3,000 migrants per day. However, in their attempt to sweep out the illegal immigrants, several citizens who have been legally residing in the country with permanent residence got caught up in the chaos.
This whole situation sparked protests on the streets of Los Angeles, leading Donald Trump to deploy 2000 National Guard members, and 700 Marines to help respond to the protests. Meanwhile, several celebrities, including the Florida rapper Doechii, and actresses like Jessica Alba and Eva Longoria, went public, in support of protesters.

It seems Donald Trump is making awards shows political again.
After high-profile ceremonies were mostly apolitical last year as celebs grew quiet after speaking out against Trump from awards show stages in his first term, the 2025 Grammys, the first major awards show in Trump’s second term, featured a number of references to some of the most controversial actions the president has taken at the start of his second term.
Lady Gaga issued perhaps the strongest call out to Trump’s anti-trans executive orders, including a first-day proclamation that the U.S. would only recognize two genders (male and female) and that those “are not changeable.” Accepting the Grammy for best pop duo or group performance for her “Die With a Smile” duet with Bruno Mars, Gaga declared, “Trans people are not invisible. Trans people deserve love. The queer community deserves to be lifted up. Music is love.”

On Thursday, the House Judiciary Committee held a hearing on the representation of people of color in media. Stars Daniel Dae Kim, Joy Villa, Erika Alexander and Edward James Olmos attended as witnesses via Zoom to speak to their experience in the entertainment industry.
Kim not only spoke to the importance of diversity on screen for the American audience, but also discussed the commercial success of stories on communities of color. Updated with Grisham reaction: A federal judge on Tuesday ordered the White House to restore the hard pass of Playboy’s correspondent Brian Karem, whose credentials were suspended after a raucous incident in July in which he got in argument with former Trump aide Sebastian Gorka following a Rose Garden ceremony.
U.S. District Judge Rudolph Contreras granted Karem’s motion for a temporary restraining order and preliminary injunction. He found that White House Press Secretary Stephanie Grisham’s rationale for revoking the pass was too vague.
“White House events appear to vary greatly in character,” Contreras wrote in his opinion. “Thus, without any contextual guideposts, ‘professionalism,’ standing alone, remains too murky to provide fair notice here.”
After Grisham informed Karem she was suspending his hard pass for 30 days, calling his conduct “unacceptable and disruptive,” he sued. A hard pass, meant for full-time reporters at the White House, allows reporters...

2Nd Update, 3:26 Pm: In her decision to suspend the hard pass of Playboy’s White House correspondent Brian Karem, White House Press Secretary Stephanie Grisham cited remarks from a Secret Service agent who intervened as Karem exchanged heated words with former Trump aide Sebastian Gorka during a Rose Garden event last month.
But on Wednesday, Justice Department attorneys informed a federal judge that there is no written statement from the agent, whose view of the confrontation could have proved critical in deciphering what transpired on July 10.
The DOJ lawyers said that there are “notes taken by an attorney in the Office of White House Counsel from an interview with the agent, but Defendants understand that this court’s order does not apply to such notes.”

It was feels versus reals on President Donald Trump’s tweetstorm today, as the Commander-in-Tweet spotlighted several emotional pleas versus cold, hard facts.
The President was particularly enamored with two videos – the first, titled “Maga Hat Meltdown,” showcased a confrontation between an emotional young woman who was triggered by the hats worn by two Trump supporters, who tried to talk her off the ledge and into logic.
The second video spotlighted featured Brandon Straka, the founder of the #WalkAway movement, showing how he came toward the light regarding Trump. His bottom line on the media: “If they can control how you feel, they can control how you think.” His video was given a few retweeted shout-outs by Trump supporters on the feed to underline that point.
Finally, the President also put in a dig against “Progressive Democrat Congresswomen” – no names needed – “who originally came from countries whose governments are a complete and total catastrophe,...

I never promised you a Rose Garden brawl. But if the crowd had its way, we would have had one today.
Right-wing talk-show host Sebastian Gorka called out CNN political analyst Brian Karem after Donald Trump’s White House event, and the two traded near-nose-to-nose insults before decorum — or at least sanity — prevailed. Video uploaded to social media today shows the men yelling at each other as a sizable audience watched and cell phone cameras rolled; check out some video below.
In one Twitter clip, Karem responds to a man off-camera who tells him, “Don’t be sad.” The pundit replies by addressing the group of conservative influencers who had gathered for Trump’s social media summit and were invited to stay for his ensuing address about how he plans to determine the citizenship of U.S. residents.
