The Hunt Exclusive Interviews: Betty Gilpin, Damon Lindelof, Jason Blum & more
Lena Olin, Carol Kane, Logan Lerman, Louis Ozawa, Jerrika Hinton, Kate Mulvany, and Tiffany Boone in Hunters (2020)
This week sees the UK cinema release of The Hunt, the controversial film that was delayed last year following the the Dayton and El Paso mass shootings. The Blumhouse film was highly anticipated, yet was pulled from the release schedule in August 2019 following a backlash due to the film’s supposed subject matter. Seven months later audiences are now allowed to see what all the fuss is about, and we spoke to Betty Gilpin, Ike Barinholtz, writer Damon Lindelof and producer Jason Blum to find out about that fuss.

The film stars Betty Gilpin, Hilary Swank, Ike Barinholtz, Wayne Duvall, Ethan Suplee, Emma Roberts, Christopher Barry, Sturgill Simpson, Kate Nowlin, Amy Madigan and Reed Birney. It was directed by Craig Zobel and written by Nick Cuse and Damon Lindelof.

These interviews were conducted by DaniElle DeLaite. The Hunt is out in cinemas this Wednesday 11th March

Interview: ‘Young Adult’ Director Jason Reitman on Open-Ended, Non-Message Directing
Chicago – Instead of trying to fill giant shoes in the shadows of his legendary filmmaker father Ivan Reitman (“Ghostbusters”), Jason Reitman has been successfully blazing his own path of films without message that are designed to incite your thoughts and question your actions.

Following the Golden Globe-nominated “Thank You For Smoking,” Oscar-winning “Juno” (with writer Diablo Cody) and Oscar-nominated “Up in the Air,” Reitman’s second collab with Cody switches to the journey of a “Young Adult” who seemingly learns to change her wicked ways but fails to.

Jason Reitman defiantly poses for the HollywoodChicago.com lens on on Dec. 7, 2011 for “Young Adult”.

That, Jason Reitman says, is reality more often than not. He says people typically don’t make drastic improvements with themselves unless, for example, it’s part of a 12-step program. “Young Adult” stars Charlize Theron, Patrick Wilson,...

Film Review: Jason Reitman, Diablo Cody Sway Us to Like the Unlikable in ‘Young Adult’
Chicago – Mavis Gary (Charlize Theron) isn’t a girl you’d Facebook like. She’s got one too many dark passengers, she’s a repugnant drunk, she likes too much pink, her white dog is too puffy and most would consider it less than Usher cool that she’s throwing herself at a married man she couldn’t bag back in high school. Or is she? And is Mavis so different than you?

Rating: 3.5/5.0

Those are director Jason Reitman and writer Diablo Cody’s key questions in their new collab “Young Adult” about one woman’s late-blooming arrested development. And questions they remain long after the credits roll. Reitman – the son of the legendary “Ghostbusters” filmmaker Ivan Reitman – is a non-message man. He doesn’t believe in them. Instead, he’s an open-ended, open-minded mystery man who wants you to think for yourself – or at least think at all. We...
