Some strange and controversial reality TV shows have premiered over the years. Reality TV shows gained prominence globally in the late 90s and early 2000s, with the groundbreaking success of Big Brother, Survivor, and American Idol, which later exploded into global franchises. The success of reality TV has been mainly due to how viewers easily relate to the premises of some of these shows and the stories of the cast members.

While many new shows have come up in recent years that have shattered the ceiling of achievement of previous ones, some of these new shows are more like the proverbial black sheep of the family. In summary, they should never have existed. However, these were out during the early stages of reality TV, so it's no wonder why they are viewed so poorly today.

Ink Master and Dating Naked are set to continue on Paramount+.

Long-running reality series Ink Master was cancelled last year at Paramount Network as the cable network refocused its strategy on television movies and mini-series.

However, Paramount+ revealed that it is looking to bring back the tattoo format, which was previously hosted by Dave Navarro, and build on its 186 episodes.

The show, which launched in 2012, sees tattoo artists compete in challenges assessing their tattoo and other artistic skills. Produced by Truly Original, it has had a number of spin-offs including Ink Master: Grudge Match.

Library seasons of Ink Master will also be available on the service.

Separately, Dating Naked, which ran for three seasons on VH1, is also set for a return after its cancelation in 2017.

The dating format, which was hosted by Amy Paffrath and Rocsi Diaz, sees contestants search for a mate while naked. The show was produced by Lighthearted Entertainment.

Umc and Rlje Films are teaming for the release of Always and Forever, an indie drama starring Lauren London (Atl), Loretta Devine (P-Valley), Cynthia Addai-Robinson (Power), Robbie Jones (One Tree Hill), Wood Harris (Creed), and Rocsi Diaz (The Bounce Back). Directed by Chris Stokes, the pic will get a day and date release in limited theaters and on VOD platforms on November 20 then Umc will exclusively stream the film beginning in early 2021.

The plot follows Nicole (Addai-Robinson), who seems to have it all – a great job, an adoring husband (Jones) – but her perfect world is shattered when her childhood friend is suddenly found dead. The tragedy reunites Nicole with her best friends from years ago, but they each soon find themselves in danger, targets of a deranged stalker. As the secrets of their past come back to haunt them, they’ll soon realize that a deadly nightmare is just beginning...

Put your clothes on and go home. VH1 has cancelled its Dating Naked TV show after a bare three seasons. – L.A.-based outfit Strand Releasing has acquired U.S. rights to Michael O’Shea’s Cannes premiere “The Transfiguration.” The film was sold by Protagonist Pictures at Toronto, and it marks the feature debut of writer-director Michael O’Shea. The atmospheric feature puts a new spin on the vampire movie.

“Mr. O’Shea’s film is a unique hybrid that audiences and critics will be compelled by,” said Strand Releasing’s partner Jon Gerrans, who discovered the film at Cannes. No word yet on release plans.

– Oscilloscope Laboratories has announced that Joel Potrykus’s latest dark comedy, “The Alchemist Cookbook,” will be available worldwide for pay-what-you-wish via BitTorrent Now on October 7, before it screens in select theaters across the country.

Michael Greyeyes, Sam, Ciaran Hinds, Chaske Spencer and Bill Camp have joined Jessica Chastain on Susanna White’s Woman Walks Ahead.

Production is underway in New Mexico on the story of Catherine Weldon, a portrait painter from 1890s Brooklyn who travels to Dakota to paint a portrait of Sitting Bull, and becomes embroiled in the Lakota peoples’ struggle over the rights to their land. Steven Knight wrote the screenplay.

MTV obviously loves long goodbyes. After six seasons of orange-hued debauchery, "Jersey Shore" will air its final episode on Thursday, Dec. 20. Before that, however, the network will devote a full 7 days of programming to celebrate the end of one of its unfortunately iconic series.

The "Jersey Shore" orgy of programming officially begins with the show's penultimate episode, airing on Thursday, Dec. 13 at 10pm. After that, MTV will air a whole bunch of fighting, drinking, sex stuff, tanning, drinking, silliness, fist-pumping and drinking from the show's six seasons on the air.

All of this, of course, leads up to the series finale itself, airing at 10pm on Dec. 20. What will happen then is anyone's guess. But there will probably be some drinking.

Drew Seeley , star of TBS's "Glory Daze," is gearing up for tonight's season finale, but he's already set his sights on a guest-star for the next season! (It hasn't gotten the greenlight for a second season though--yet!) So who would be perfect for the comedic TV show, about a group of college freshmen who pledge a fraternity in the 1980s? "Bring in some 'Saturday Night Live' alum," Seeley, 28, tells TooFab. " Adam Sandler , how about that? That would be awesome! [I'd like him to play] something he hasn't played before, something crazy." Horror remakes are definitely the hot new trend in Hollywood and I had no idea just how many remakes were being planned until I sat down and drew up a list of as many as I could find. I stopped at 7 pages and needless to say it seems that just about every movie you can imagine is getting a remake-prequel or reboot into 3D.

Here is a pretty complete list of upcoming horror remakes as of today in alphabetical order. Note: There are a few on this list that are only in the early phases of discussion and in some cases I included franchise reboots as well.

13 Tzameti: Starting the list off 13 Tzameti is more thriller then horror but still worthy of making the list. The film which started filming in New York awhile back will star Mickey Rourke and Jason Statham. The original film is a tale of Russian roulette with gruesome outcomes.
