Achint Kaur: I was under-confident in my initial days
Image
Actress Achint Kaur recalls how, back in the 90s when she started out as an actress, people would discourage youngsters from joining the glamour industry. "When I entered the entertainment industry, I was already married and had a kid who was two. Since I was offered a role, and I never tried to get into the business of entertainment, things were not planned. I told my family, and they were under the impression that everything was wrong with the glamour industry, so there was no encouragement. Nobody looked at it as just another profession. Even the idea of me, getting into the glamour and entertainment industry was 'wrong'," says Achint, who returns in the web series "Hey Prabhu! 2".

Dream Girl

Starring Ayushmann Khurrana, Nushrat Bharucha, Annu Kapoor, Vijay Raaz, Abhishek Bannerjee, Raj Bhansali, Nidhi Bisht

Way back in 1977 when Dream Girl meant Hema Malini, Dharmendra sang Anand Bakshi’s truly romantic line Kissi shaayar ki ghazal , Dream Girl…. 42 years later the ceaselessly enterprising Vijay Raaz plays a self-styled shaayar who bores everyone with his cheesy lines, his own wife being his prime victim. The potty-level poet is one low life among many in a film that tells you it’s okay to seek dubious companionship when loneliness it at its peak.

There is something inherently amusing about people being forced into roles that they were not born to play, Ayushmann Khurrana has lately mastered the art of being cornered by a corny karma….Or, if it not his karma then someone close to him, like his Dad in Badhaai Ho who impregnates his mom...

Interview with Aqib Khan for West Is West
In East Is East‘s greatly anticipated sequel West Is West, Sajid Khan is still a weird, mixed up boy even if he has ditched the Parka.

Despite the uncanny resemblance to actor Jordan Routledge who played the orginal runt of the Khan litter, 17 year old Aqib Khan was most definitely something of a find for producer Leslee Udwin as he deftly picks up where Sajid left off over a decade ago only a few years older and in the throes of a pubescent identity crisis.

West Is West will be Aqib’s début professional performance which comes as something as a shock as the kid has clearly got a lot of talent! HeyUGuys got to hear about the excitement first hand as well as just how he’s been coping in his new-found limelight.

Did you ever consider acting as a possible career before West Is West?

Never, I never thought about it.

So in a last attempt to ‘sort him out’, his father decides to pack him off to Mrs Khan No 1 and family in the Punjab, the wife and daughters he had abandoned 30 years earlier. It is not long before Ella Khan [Mrs Khan No 2], with a small entourage from Salford, England, swiftly follows to sort out the mess,...
