However, her work as Valeria Garza in the 2022 video game Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II made her a well-known name around the world. As the latest feature from writers/directors Fernanda Valadez and Astrid Rondero (“Identifying Features”) draws to a close, it’s hard to ignore the starkness, pacing, and tone overall; this is hardly the sort of film one puts on as any sort of a palate cleanser. Gus is a calculating villain who instills fear through his calm, collected nature and careful planning. His silence can be more imposing than vocal threats.
