Exclusive: Grant Rosenmeyer, Sean San José (Sing Sing), Nora Dunn, Katherine Cunningham (Yellowstone) and Alexis Allotta (Happily Never After) are starring in the semi-autobiographical drama Behind the Eight-Ball. The pic reps the feature directorial debut of Nathan Israileff.

Loosely inspired by Israileff’s experiences, Behind the Eight-Ball follows Trevor (Rosenmeyer) a high-functioning cocaine addict whose spiraling substance abuse threatens his career and closest relationships – forcing him to confront his demons and fight for redemption as his life unravels around him.

Says the filmmaker, “The film is a ‘love letter’ to functional addicts who are afraid to speak up or admit embarrassment for their ongoing issues, letting them know they are not alone and the depression they feel is felt by many.”

Israileff and Rosenmeyer are producing through their companies Artisanal Interrobang and Florida Hill respectively alongside producer Katelyn Henslin.

The five characters in Linh Tran’s Waiting for the Light to Change come together in awkward fashion, some reuniting and others meeting for the first time at a lake house in Michigan at the tail end of winter. What’s supposed to be a fun getaway starts on the wrong foot: they can’t find the house key upon arriving, the water’s too cold to swim or boat in, and there’s nothing to do in the small town; accordingly most of their time is spent indoors or wandering around the cold, windy shore nearby. That isolation makes for a rich starting point to Tran’s strong, confident debut feature, in which she uses her ensemble to explore the anxiety, despair, and sadness that can hang over one’s 20s while building a life and career.

"After I finished shooting Unidentified, I had some of the UFO set in my backyard so I decided to make the most of it and came up with this fun little abduction short," Miller tells us. "We shot it in just a few hours and had a blast the entire time! I love doing short films because it's a fun, easy way to keep my directing skills sharp without all the hassle of looking for money like you would on a feature. You just write and shoot!"

Arrow Video has announced the UK DVD and Blu-ray Disc release of Adam Green's Hatchet 2 on 29th August 2011. This sequel picks up right where the original ended, and Arrow's release includes a nice package of extras.

Hatchet 2 focuses on Marybeth as she escapes from the clutches of Victor Crowley, learns the truth about his curse, and heads back into the haunted New Orleans swamp to seek revenge for her family and kill Victor Crowley once and for all.

The gore is served by the bucket loads, but for the most part the death sequences aren't all that memorable. Hatchet II isn't even really scary or suspenseful. And despite...

Filmmaker Jason Miller, one of the dudes behind-the-scenes on many Adam Green efforts, has a new flick on the way called Infected . It stars Hatchet II 's Alexis Peters and Brian Collins as the Monster. With cameos from Aj Bowen, Adam Green and David Foy. The film also calls on Hatchet vets Will Barratt (cinematographer), Andy Garfield, who did sound and score, and Robert Pendergraft and Aunt Dolly's Garage did the Creature & Make-Up FX. ArieScope alumnus Jason Richard Miller has a new horror short film on the way starring a few very familiar faces to populate his latest landscape of badassery. Get ready to be Infected!

Miller, whom you may know for his work on Adam Rifkin's "Look" The Television Series, Adam Green's Hatchet series, Frozen, Chillerama, and more, is just about ready to deliver his second short film, which you can expect to be cruising the festival circuit in early 2011.

Infected stars Hatchet II's Alexis Peters alongside Bloody Disgusting's Brian Collins as the monster. In addition to them be on the lookout for special appearances by A.J. Bowen, Adam Green, and David Foy. Will Barratt is the director of photography with Andy Garfield handling sound and score and the deliciously loony Robert Pendergraft and Aunt Dolly's Garage doling out the creature F/X along with some violence. We like when Rob does that.

It's not a complete surprise, but Adam Green's blood-fest 'Hatchet II' has been yanked from theaters in the Us and Canada. If you got to see it over the weekend, count yourself lucky.

Official details are yet to be released, but Adam Green posted the following note from his Twitter account: "To those asking: Yes, Hatchet II Unrated has been pulled from Us theaters. Press release coming tomorrow when we have the full details."

Initial reports stated that the film performed well for the limited release that it had, and of course much kudos goes to AMC Theaters for allowing the unrated release to have the opportunity that it did. We will post all the details of what exactly happened when the information is made available.

Once it was yanked in Canada, we had a feeling that Adam Green's Hatchet II would eventually get pulled here in the States. Well, we hope you got to see it this weekend.

Adam Green posted the following message from his Twitter account:

"To those asking: Yes, Hatchet II Unrated has been pulled from Us theaters. Press release coming tomorrow when we have the full details."

Take heart, horror fans. The movie did well for the release that it had, and hats off to AMC Theatres for even taking the chance on it. We'll have full details of what went down and what's next tomorrow. Stay tuned.

A brand new poster for Adam Green’s horror sequel Hatchet II has just been released!

Marybeth (Danielle Harris) escapes the clutches of the deformed, swamp-dwelling iconic killer Victor Crowley (Kane Hodder). After learning the truth about her family’s connection to the hatchet-wielding madman, Marybeth returns to the Louisiana swamps along with an army of hunters to recover the bodies of her family and exact the bloodiest revenge against the bayou butcher.
