Two-time Academy Award nominee and Cannes jury member Jessica Chastain will star in Seducing Ingrid Bergman, and she and her Freckle Films has joined Yrf Entertainment and Arash Amel to produce it. Jonathan Reiman, Yrf Entertainment’s President of Production, will serve as executive producer on the project. Kelly Carmichael will oversee for Freckle Films, where she is President of Production and Development. The script is based on the book of the same name by Chris Greenhalgh which was optioned by Yrf Entertainment. No director has been set.

Though he’s currently preoccupied giving Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine an appropriate swan song as the actor prepares to hang up his adamantium claws, James Mangold is already eyeing a very different kind of project. Deadline reports that the versatile helmer will tackle an adaptation of Chris Greenhalgh’s Seducing Ingrid Bergman, possibly to be titled Blood and Champagne, about the heated love affair between actress Bergman and war photographer Robert Capa.

Set in 1945 in post-wwii Paris, the pic will focus on a pivotal time in the Casablanca actress’ life; she would subsequently become a tabloid sensation after launching into an affair with director Roberto Rossellini.

Arash Amel (Grace of Monaco) wrote the script for the historical romance and will also produce.

Updated With Full List Of Scripts, Writers, And Reps: Catherine The Great, about the rise and life of the famous (sometimes notorious) 18th-Century Russian monarch, was the top vote-getter among 70 scripts chosen for the 2014 Black List of the year’s best un-produced scripts. The screenplay, by Los Angeles writer and producer Kristina Lauren Anderson, was announced as part of an hour-plus process on Twitter and YouTube this morning.

Each of the 70 screenplays on this 10th annual list was chosen by a group of 250 development executives, agents and other Hollywood insiders as among the year’s best un-produced scripts in a process overseen by Franklin Leonard of http://www.blcklst.com. Anderson’s screenplay received 51 votes.

Other notables in the list include writer/actor/director Kenneth Lonergan with Manchester-By-The-Sea, which is being produced by Matt Damon and Chris Moore. Randall Green had two scripts make the list, The Swimsuit Issue and Cartoon Girl.

Yrf Entertainment will remake the critically acclaimed and commercially successful Sujoy Ghosh directed and Vidya Balan starrer Kahaani, for Western and international audiences as “Deity”.

One of the coolest things is that “Deity” will be directed by Niels Arden Oplev (“The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo”).

Producer Uday Chopra and Grace of Monaco writer Arash Amel have come together to produce a screen adaption of 2012 novel “Seducing Ingrid Bergman”.

Yrf Entertainment has optioned the Chris Greenhalgh novel which dramatizes the real-life affair between legendary Swedish actress Ingrid Bergman and war photographer Robert Capa.

Amel and Chopra worked together on Olivier Dahan directed Grace of Monaco, a film being released later this year by The Weinstein Company.

Speaking about the development, Chopra said, “I believe that Arash Amel, who also wrote ‘Grace of Monaco’, is the perfect writer to bring this story to life and I’m very excited to have Yrf Entertainment bring it to the world.”

From the kaleidoscopic credits sequence -- gorgeous but approaching the headache-inducing -- it's clear that we're in for some visual splendor. And Netherlands-born adapter (of Chris Greenhalgh's novel) and director Jan Kounen certainly delivers on that promise: Coco Chanel & Igor Stravinsky is perhaps the most beautiful film of the year -- maybe several -- in terms of art direction, costumes and sets (including wallpaper and props). I am not being facetious: There is a lot be said for sheer beauty and taste regarding surroundings, particularly when all this is captured as stunningly as it is here (the widescreen cinematography is by David Ungaro).

There's a wonderful moment in Clint Eastwood's Bird, when Charlie Parker and Dizzy Gillespie make an expedition one night to the Los Angeles home of their idol, Igor Stravinsky. They ring the bell at the front garden gate and stand in the shadows, afraid to approach the great man when he appears in the doorway in that famous hook-nosed silhouette. You sense their awe in the presence of a God‑like figure who still answers his own doorbell.

The film starts in 1913 with the debut of Stravinsky’s “Rite of Spring”. The choreography was audacious and the music was pulsating. It was however a bit too much for the audience as they rioted. Back then the crowd expected their ballet more demure and not so aggressive. Stravinsky (Mads Mikkelson) was crushed by this supposed failure and angry at choreographer Vaslav Nijinsky (Marek Kossakowski). All the while, Chanel (Anna Mouglasis) sat mesmerized in the crowd with her lover Boy Capel (Anatole Taubman).

Period pieces require attention to detail from the producer and director.  Chanel and Igor did a decent job in depicting the correct atmosphere of 1920's Paris.  The mannerisms of the characters seemed to fit the description of what these two real people were like back then.  Not sure if this needed to be a 120 minute presentation.  90 minutes would have sufficed.
