[Fantasia Review] Man Underground
Aliens are here. That’s the message Willem Koda (George Basil) would have us believe — the 360 viewers clicking on his YouTube channel’s posts. Indie Spotlight: Odd Couple Tracks ‘Teenage Vampire Killers From Hell’
Say what you will about Twilight, but it has provided endless fodder for Internet comedians. The latest series to lampoon the melodramatic vampire saga is Teenage Vampire Killers From Hell, which turns an incompetent priest and a badass into a pair of vampire hunters. Tvkfh stars Andy Rocco as Father Boyd, who is only a man of the cloth because he has so utterly failed at everything else he has tried in the past. Boyd isn't a naturally violent person, but his partner Frank (Matt DeCoster) has no qualms ending the nightstalking lives of all the teenage vampires he meets. The first episode provides an original story as well as a first look into Boyd and Frank's partnership. Father Boyd is a truly unique character, and since it seems like every indie web comedy wants its main character to be a beleaguered-but-socially-confident hero, a protagonist with virtually no social skills ends up being quite refreshing.
