Biography

    • Jennipher Foster originally hails from Macon, Georgia. She was introduced to acting through a program designed for low-income youth seeking creative enrichment, in which the majority of the town's small LGBTQ community served as mentors. Being embraced by marginalized artists thriving in the Deep South inspired her to produce plays for local children's theaters, often exploring themes of trauma survival and healing through self-expression. The guidance of these volunteers cultivated her world view and encouraged her to explore the power of connection through storytelling. She continued to hone her acting skills under Kenny Leon of the Alliance Theater in Atlanta and at Edgemar Center of the Arts with Michelle Danner, as well as studying sketch at Upright Citizen's Brigade in Los Angeles.

Her leading debut in the coming-of-age feature film "Sweet Thing" premiered at Seattle Intl Film Festival, soon followed by costarring roles in television (How I Met Your Mother, Eric Andre Show, Unbelievable). While working in post-production, she became a writer for "Who Smarted?", a popular educational podcast for kids; published a book of children's poetry, produced sketches featured on "Funny or Die", and co-created the comedy/horror podcast "Nightcaps of the Living Dead". She also voiced the heroine in "Best Month Ever!", a video game developed through Warsaw Film School that ultimately reached global distribution.

Working with female show runners gave Jennipher the confidence to make her directorial debut with "Totem Goat", acquiring recognition overseas at Cannes Shorts, Florence Film, Rome Intl Movie Awards and Lisbon Cinescape before winning Best Horror Short at Marina del Rey Film Festival. She is in preproduction for her second venture directing indie horror.
