Sylvester Stallone-Produced Feature ‘Lost on a Mountain In Maine’ Slated for November Release by Blue Fox Entertainment (Exclusive)
Image
Blue Fox Entertainment has acquired the distribution rights to the true-events-inspired feature film, “Lost on a Mountain In Maine,” which will begin its theatrical run on Nov. 1.

From Sylvester Stallone’s Balboa Productions, the film tells the true story of 12-year-old Donn Fendler, who “becomes separated from his family by a fast-moving storm atop a treacherous mountain,” the film’s logline reads.

It continues: “For nine days, Donn fights to stay alive as he attempts to survive the unforgiving wilderness of northern Maine without food, proper clothing, or the knowledge of how bad his situation really is. His disappearance sparks a massive search effort that captures national headlines and attracts hundreds of volunteers, including his own father, who fears he may never see his son again.”

Luke David Blumm (“The King of Staten Island”), Paul Sparks (Netflix’s “House of Cards”), Caitlin FitzGerald (Showtime’s “Masters of Sex”) and Ethan Slater...

“Normally we read the script, but this time it was not necessary”: Tom Hanks’ $485M Movie Was Banned by an Entire Nation But Was Still Shot Illegally Against the Rules
Image
When Tom Hanks has been signed on to a project and the film is an adaptation of a bestselling book that almost overnight became a worldwide sensation, very little could go wrong outside the scope of production. However, in the case of Dan Brown’s Angels and Demons, the scandal that unfolded behind the scenes presented an entirely different scenario.

This time, it was not the studio execs who ruined a perfectly good script with unnecessary notes or censorship. It was the Church itself that descended upon the filmmakers and defended its institution from the outrageous, blasphemous fictional novel about a fictional man obsessed with symbols and adventures.

Tom Hanks Singlehandedly Erupted the Vatican City

After the 2006 film The Da Vinci Code shook the very foundations of Christianity, the Vatican found itself imposing a ban on all things Dan Brown, including his books...

This Second Is Eternal: Shiguéhiko Hasumi on “Directed by Yasujiro Ozu”
Image
Floating Weeds Sitting inside his Tokyo home, surrounded by stacks of books and photos of John Ford and Jean-Luc Godard pinned to the wall, the venerated film and literary critic, writer, and scholar Shiguéhiko Hasumi admitted with a wry smile that he was not really in the mood to talk about Ozu. We were gathered for an interview about a new English translation of his book Directed by Yasujiro Ozu, but he had old Hollywood on his mind. As he spoke, he switched between Japanese and French-accented English. “This book was written 40 years ago,” he said. “My last monograph is about John Ford. And this is my latest book. I greatly admire the films of Don Siegel.” He pointed to What is a Shot?. “So, I am so far from Ozu.” Indeed, Hasumi, who turns 88 this month, remains prolific. Spread out on the coffee table in front of him by...
