Apple TV+ is still relatively new in the streaming industry, and despite having made a name for themselves by producing quality content that people talk about to no end, the Apple-owned streaming service has produced some shows that don’t get talked about much, but not because they are bad, but because they are overlooked. On one hand, Apple TV+ has produced extremely popular shows like Ted Lasso and Severance; on the other hand, it has brilliant but nowhere near as popular shows like Drops of God and Slow Horses. If you're a fan of thrillers, Netflix has no shortage of options, especially with its selection of Harlan Coben adaptations. Coben, known for his suspenseful novels, has become a popular name in the streaming world with many of his books turned into Netflix shows. However, not all of them live up to the hype.
As of right now, there are 10 television series adaptations and one original series of his currently streaming on Netflix. They are Safe, Stay Close, The Innocent, The Stranger, Gone for Good, The Woods, Hold Tight, Missing You, Caught, Fool Me Once and Just One Look. While each of these series has its share of twists and surprises, not all of them succeed in maintaining your interest or keeping the momentum strong throughout. Some may leave you hooked for a few episodes, only to disappoint with predictable plotlines, pacing issues, underdeveloped characters, or unsatisfying conclusions.

Exclusive: The production company that houses Angels In The Asylum, the beleaguered British indie film starring Simon Pegg, has effectively filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy.
Aita Films Limited intends to appoint law firm Debenhams Ottaway to oversee the administration process. The development follows Angels In The Asylum halting filming halfway through its shoot after running out of cash, as Deadline revealed last month.
In the UK, company directors can put a firm into administration if it can’t pay its debts. Deadline has previously reported that Angels In The Asylum’s 150 crew members are owed at least £600,000 in wages, while suppliers are also out of pocket significantly.
The administration process is similar to Chapter 11 bankruptcy, but unlike in the U.S., where directors remain in control of the business, Debenhams Ottaway will take charge of Aita Films’ operations and will attempt to restructure the company financially so that it can pay creditors.

Exclusive: Angels in the Asylum’s producers have sent a profuse apology to unpaid crew after Deadline revealed that the Simon Pegg indie film had to halt shooting amid funding issues.
In an email to colleagues on Friday morning, producers Rob Sorrenti and Heather Greenwood said they were “truly sorry that we find ourselves in this terrible situation.” They added: “It was never what we could possibly have imagined when we started this journey.”
Angels in the Asylum set out to tell an important story about women incarcerated against their wishes, but had to pause production indefinitely last month after running out of cash. Around 150 crew members are owed at least £600,000 in wages, suppliers have not been paid, and producers have also gone without a salary. A portion of cast pay was ringfenced in an escrow account under Equity union agreements.

There's no denying that police procedurals are popular in the world of television. These shows manage to showcase the intensity of crime scenes without becoming stale or boring. Not to mention, a lot of these shows manage to find a particular niche, providing fans with a ton of diversity and nuance.
While fans don't necessarily want these shows to be realistic, a few hiccups can cause a procedural to seem more like a sitcom than a gripping drama. It's evident that fans want to enjoy a fast-paced show without too much exposition, but a lot of police procedurals have the habit of including a lot of odd details to keep the plot flowing. As such, these details often keep audiences from fully immersing themselves in the story.

Exclusive: Aurora Perrineau (Prodigal Son) has been tapped for an undisclosed role in Angels in the Asylum, an upcoming indie drama marking the feature debut of writer-director Rob Sorrenti.
Perrineau joins an ensemble which also includes Katherine Waterston, Simon Pegg, Minnie Driver, Cush Jumbo, Rose Williams and Miriam Margolyes, as previously announced.
Inspired by a BBC Newsnight exposé, the film tells the untold story of 50 women who were forcibly confined in isolation at Surrey’s Long Grove Asylum. Beginning in 1907, these women — deemed typhoid carriers — were imprisoned in the former psychiatric hospital, their lives shaped by fear, stigma, and medical injustice. Pic explores their struggle for freedom and dignity in the face of a system that saw them as threats rather than individuals, shedding light on a dark chapter in medical history.
Heather Greenwood, Marie-Elena Dyche and Charlotte Carey are producing the pic, currently shooting in the UK, with Parkland Pictures handling sales.

On the heels of Harlan Coben's new Netflix show, Missing You, which premiered on New Year's Day, Netflix shared two interesting updates about the cast and filming start of Run Away, one of the upcoming Harlan Coben Netflix shows.
James Nesbitt, who also starred in Missing You and Stay Close, two of the three most recent of Coben's Netflix shows, will star in Run Away. Ruth Jones and Minnie Driver will join Nesbitt, according to Netflix.
In the series, Nesbitt stars as Simon Greene, a father "whose perfect life starts to crumble after his daughter Paige (Ellie de Lange), well, runs away," according to Netflix. The story is based on Coben's 2019 book of the same name, so if you want to find out what happens, that's a good place to start!

Harlan Coben has admitted he worries he’ll never have another idea for a TV series or novel. The acclaimed author has found huge success with Netflix adapting Fool Me Once and now Missing You.
The mystery writer's latest series adaptation, Missing You, landed on Netflix last week, featuring Slow Horses’s Rosalind Eleazar as Detective Inspector Kat Donovan searching for her fiancé years after he suddenly disappeared. Even though Coben has several other adaptations of his books in active development with Netflix and Prime Video, he has now revealed his insecurity over writing each new story.

It’s been a full year since we had a new Harlan Coben Netflix show to watch, but that changed on New Year’s Day with the release of Missing You, which is currently the second-most popular Netflix show in the world behind Squid Game season 2.
Honestly, Netflix probably can’t make shows based on Coben’s book fast enough with how quickly fans binge-watch these shows. We fully expect Missing You to be a huge hit for the streamer.
As many fans finish up Missing You or just find out that it’s on Netflix and start watching, we wanted to take some time to share the other Harlan Coben Netflix shows to watch right now. There are nine of them now, and even more are on the way either later this year or next year.

Away from their on-screen engagements, David Tennant (Doctor Who) and Cush Jumbo (The Good Wife) have been electrifying audiences in real-time in a recent West End production of Macbeth. An innovative spin on the classic Shakespeare tragedy, the production began at Donmar Warehouse last year and has had an extended sold-out run. The play has been heavily lauded by critics, with phrases like "thrilling" and "throat-clinchingly intense" used to describe Tennant and Jumbo's performances. Thanks to Trafalgar Releasing, more audiences will get to experience the play in their local theaters with a theatrical release date set for next year.

Even after knowing it would be stupid, the first thing I did after finishing Balestra was googling if this was actually based on a true story. Of course, it couldn’t be, because if it were real, the whole world (including me) would have known about it by now. I never really imagined I would write this, but Canadian director Nicole Dorsey’s film is like this strange, bastard child of Challengers and Inception that comes off as a two and a half hour long Black Mirror episode. It also reminds you of Black Swan. This is no negative criticism, by the way. Because in an age where human attention span is an extremely fragile thing, this two and a half-hour-long film that doesn’t even have a Wikipedia page successfully manages to keep you at the edge of your seat from start to finish. Well, at least that’s what happened for me,...

Once upon a time, David Schwimmer was offered the leading role in Men in Black. He turned it down. Will Smith wound up taking on the role, and the film helped propel him to superstar status while Schwimmer was left toiling in one of the most popular sitcoms of all time.
While speaking on the Origins with Cush Jumbo podcast (thanks to IndieWire), Schwimmer reflected on turning down Men in Black and explained why he made the choice he did. The actor was in the midst of starring in Friends at the time, but he would have been able to fit in Men in Black during his summer hiatus. Instead, he chose to honour his commitment to what would become his feature directorial debut.
“[It] was a brutal decision. I had just finished filming ‘The Pallbearer,’ my first film with Gwyneth Paltrow, and there were high expectations of that which didn’t come true.
