To celebrate 10 years of Hamilton, Lin-Manuel Miranda and the original Broadway cast returned to the room where it happened at the Tony Awards on Sunday night.
The creator-star of the Broadway phenomenon was joined by Jonathan Groff, Ariana DeBose, Carleigh Bettiol, Andrew Chappelle, Alysha Deslorieux, Daveed Diggs, Renée Elise Goldsberry, Sydney James Harcourt, Neil Haskell, Sasha Hutchings, Christopher Jackson, Thayne Jasperson, Jasmine Cephas Jones, Stephanie Klemons, Morgan Marcell, Javier Muñoz, Leslie Odom, Jr., Okieriete Onaodowan, Emmy Raver-Lampman, Jon Rua, Austin Smith, Phillipa Soo, Seth Stewart, Betsy Struxness, Ephraim Sykes, Voltaire Wade-Greene and Anthony Ramos.
The performance had been announced ahead of Sunday’s show. Once the beloved cast hit the stage — this time, wearing all-black tuxedos and gowns — the ensemble performed a medley of hits that included “Non-Stop,” “My Shot,” “The Schuyler Sisters,” “Guns and Ships,” “You’ll Be Back,” “Yorktown,” “The Room Where It Happens” and closing number “Who Lives,...

In tip-top shape, as if no time has passed since its 2015 debut off-Broadway and immense success thereafter, the original company of Hamilton reunited for a rousing performance featuring an intricate medley of songs from the hit soundtrack, bringing the audience to its feet.
Host and Tony winner Cynthia Erivo introduced the castmembers, stating the musical “changed not just Broadway, but how Americans view their own history — or so I’m told,” to crowd laughter. Calling it a “cultural force” and “explosion of joy that spilled onto Broadway’s sidewalks,” she wasted no time in ushering the grand anniversary showcase, affectionately called “Hamilten,” a true masterclass in rapid-fire onstage choreography and breathwork.
Beginning with Hamilton (Lin-Manuel Miranda) and Aaron Burr themselves, the medley swelled first with “Non-Stop,” with the former then taking over for “My Shot.” Enter stage left Phillipa Soo with “That Would Be Enough,” later completing...

From the moment we saw him during the So You Think You Can Dance auditions we felt certain Miami contemporary dancer Ricky Ubeda (he of the goofy grin, scruffy chin, and impossible extensions) would likely wind up going far in the competition. To us he feels like the perfect combination of all stars Mark Kanemura (angular, quirky) and Neil Haskell (long-legged, athletic).
Last week Ricky amazed with a Sonya Tayeh number while temporarily paired up with another strong contemporary dancer, Jessica Richens.
This week the top 20 dancers were assigned permanent partners and Ricky drew adorable tapper Valerie Rockey. Their first assignment together, a Travis Wall routine….
There are certainly other strong dancers on Sytycd this year, but we’re having trouble seeing any of them beating Ricky out for the title of America’s Favorite Dancer.

It’s important to get all the front-page news in the headline! Spoiler ahead. Two more dancers have left the competition after the Tuesday, Aug. 27 performance show, which featured Modern Family’s Jesse Tyler Ferguson (living proof that there should be an Emmy for Outstanding Reality TV Guest Judge) and the Top 6 dahn-sahs paired up with So You Think You Can Dance All-Stars and then each other.

It was a string of standing ovations by judges Nigel Lythgoe, Mary Murphy and guest judge (and speaker of Truth) Debbie Allen on last night’s So You Think You Can Dance.
Despite the awesomeness of the first All-Star show with the Top 10 dance contestants, there’e always that dark cloud knowing two of our favorite dancers would be going home.
After the show, we grabbed some time with a few of the All-Stars (Melanie Moore, Stephen “tWitch” Boss and Neil Haskell) as well as the Top 10 (including the 2 eliminated contestants) to chat up the challenges of their dances, how tough it is to say goodbye to their fellow dancers and what dance style they still want to take on.

From the moment she dazzled the judges with her audition on the Season 8 premiere of So You Think You Can Dance, Melanie Moore looked like a serious contender for the title of America’s Favorite Dancer. And over the next four months, the 19-year-old Georgia pixie maintained that front-runner status, eventually taking home the crown on the Aug. 11 season finale, and scoring promises of job offers from Lady Gaga and movie director Kenny Ortega along the way. TVLine caught up with Melanie to talk about her memorable “Return to Stone” dance with Marko Germar, her “leap of faith” with Sytycd All-Star Neil Haskell,...

Melanie and Marko’s stilted disco routine on last night’s So You Think You Can Dance performance finale really bummed me out. “Oh nooooooooo. Disco,” I shuddered. I’d forgotten all about it. Must disco still exist? For contestants looking to gain last-minute momentum, the disco seems as death-kissy as the dreaded foxtrot or, God forbid, a Russian nesting doll dance or whatever. “Has anyone Ever liked a disco routine on #Sytycd? Die die die!” I tweeted feverishly, for I had just scraped up the last of my spicy gouda party spread directly from a small stone plate with my teeth.

Melanie Moore of "So You Think You Can Dance" is officially getting support from at least one A-list celebrity. Her performance on Tuesday, July 26 has smitten Lady GaGa that the "Judas" songstress admitted the 19-year-old contestant is her favorite on the competition.
"I would hire you tomorrow to dance on my tour all around the world," so said the "Born This Way" hitmaker, who served as a guest judge on this week's "Sytycd", after watching Melanie's routine with returning contestant Neil Haskell. She went on gushing, "There is something so athletic and so passionate and so beautiful, and you're such a star."
GaGa also got emotional when she watched Marko Germar and Allison Holker's dance, which was set to Jeff Buckley's "I Know It's Over". Shedding tears during her commentary, she revealed that she regrets some things she did when she was younger and she felt every moment of that in his dance.

Since dancing is one of the purest forms of self-expression, So You Think You Can Dance and Lady Gaga are a perfect fit, don't you think? Three years after making her broadcast-tv performance debut on the show, the Grammy winner was back tonight, this time as a guest judge—and sporting aqua-blue hair. And she had opinions, baby. Of the remaining eight finalists, who was Lady Gaga's favorite, who got dissed, who made her cry—and who got her shoes?! "My hat's off to you, baby," Gaga told Melanie Moore, literally doffing her red leather sailor's cap after being the first of the judges on her feet when Melanie hurtled into all-star Neil Haskell's arms during a...

Mitchell Kelly and Clarice Ordaz were eliminated from So You Think You Can dance last night, as the top ten became the top eight!
The result was announced during last night’s live results show, after the two dancers received among the lowest amount of public votes following their performances the night before.
Joining them in the bottom four were Ricky Jaime and Jordan Casanova and all the unlucky contestants were asked to perform a solo routine, for what may have been their last time on the hit Fox dance show.
Broadway star Neil Patrick Harris joined regular judges Nigel Lythgoe and Mary Murphy for the week and after deliberating over the fate of the talented hopefuls, the trio were unanimous in their decision to eliminate Mitchell Kelly and Clarice Ordaz.

"So, do you think you could interview Travis Wall?" We've been getting that request a lot around here, so thanks to everyone who pushed for it. We're happy to deliver!
Travis Wall is just 23-years-old, which is easy to forget when you consider what he's already managed to accomplish. Dancing all his life, he starred in a nationwide Dr. Pepper commercial when he was nine. He was performing on Broadway in a revival of The Music Man at 12. But perhaps his biggest break as a dancer came in 2006, when then 18-year-old Travis competed on the second season of So You Think You Can Dance.
If nothing else, you probably remember that gorgeous (and Emmy-winning) Mia Michaels routine he performed with Heidi Groskreutz called The Bench. EW.com recently ranked it as #2 on their list of the 15 greatest So You Think You Can Dance routines.

Tonight is the season eight premiere of So You Think You Can Dance. And if you believe the commercials, the talent is better than ever before. Given the quality of dancers last season and the prior years, we do find that a little hard to believe. But knowing what a great vehicle the show is to expose these otherwise unknowns to millions of fans, it only makes sense that the b-boys, tappers, krumpers and ballerinas are crawling out of the woodwork to get on the show. So while we wait to see how this year's dancers measure up, here's a list of our favorite Sytycd routines to date.
10. Jeanine Mason and Jason Glover — "If It Kills Me" by Jason Mraz
Choreographed by Travis Wall
In season five, the runner-up from season two, Travis Wall, returned to Sytycd to make his debut as a choreographer.

The Fox reality series So You Think You Can Dance can be an incredibly frustrating experience for gay viewers. The stunning choreography and dancing have always impressed. And there have clearly always been some gay male dancers to root for, even if no dancer has ever been expressly out while on the show.
But what can be terribly frustrating is how the judges (in particular Nigel Lythgoe) seem hellbent on playing up the romantic "chemistry" aspect of the couples' dancing. A lot of the choreographed pieces are eroticized duets. (Rhumba anyone?), and male dancers who fail to look like they want to sexually devour their female partners seem automatically penalized and discounted.
The few times two men actually dance together, the concept is carefully spelled out as not romantic. It's "Two princes going to war," "Two beat boys fighting over the same girl," or "Two regular joes playing baseball!

Sigh. One week after Alex Wong tore his Achilles tendon and was declared Dfy, not only costing So You Think You Can Dance a fan favorite but rendering that entire week's worth of performances more or less moot, Ashley Galvan was on the shelf with a rib injury.
She did not dance Wednesday and will be in the bottom three.
Unlike Alex, her status is likely to remain questionable through tonight, so if she makes it through but still can't dance, she's out of the show. Who will join her on the block?
Here's our take on last night's Sytycd performances ...
Lauren Froderman with Mark Kanemura (Tahitian): High energy, but the first Tahitian display on the show can be summed up as such: "I have no idea what to say." - Nigel
You gotta love this feedback, too: Mia Michaels says Lauren looked like a duck in heat, and...

Someone had to go — and Alexie definitely deserved to be the first eliminated contestant from So You Think You Can Dance this season!
There were group hugs, silly dancing and lots of tears on So You Think You Can Dance’s first elimination show of the season June 17 when jazz dancer Alexie Agdeppa got the boot — but honestly, she deserved to go!
Despite the critiques the 26-year-old jazz dancer received from the judges, I was unimpressed by her hip-hop performance with Twitch. That said, it was sad to see her go, especially after finding out how many times she had tried out for the show (Four in total), and she Was truly adorable, but as judge Mia Michaels said, “cute” can only get you so far!

Whoops! Ashley Galvan told us she’d never said ‘I love you’ to boyfriend Jarid Murillo before she blurted it out on last night’s show!
We’ve been Ashley Galvan fans since she first auditioned for So You Think You Can Dance earlier this season, but after watching the 19-year-old dancer vulnerably declare her love after her beautiful performance June 16, we’re officially obsessed!
“Have you ever been in love before?” judge and show creator Nigel Lythgoe asked Ashley after her routine with All-Star Neil Haskell.
“As a matter of fact, I think I am now,” she said, blushing.
After the show, we asked Ashley about her endearing moment, and she admitted it was the first time she’s confessed her love for her boyfriend of a little over a year, fellow dancer Jarid Murillo.

After a truncated audition period and last Thursday's weird exhibition episode, So You Think You Can Dance got underway last night, its pairs competing for the first time.
Camera and audio issues aside, it was as good or better than we remember from previous years. The new format with the newcomers and All-Stars is intriguing as well.
Here's a breakdown of the Top 11 performances last night ...
Billy Bell & Lauren Gottlieb: Their Broadway bit by Tyce Diorio was alright, but the steps didn't really follow the beat; Billy stood out, but their chemistry was lacking.
That fact was noted by Nigel, as well. Adam even said Billy needs to focus on the intangibles, since the steps come so naturally. Mia was proud of him in the new genre.
Cristina Santana & Mark Kanemura: Sonya wanted a sexy, sensual jazz routine, and thanks in part to her all-star partner, Cristina...

On the Top 11's first competitive show -- and "So You Think You Can Dance's" first ever live performance show -- Wednesday (June 16) night, penultimate dancer Ashley Galvan brought the show to a stop with a surprisingly sweet and sincere admission.
Kicking off the critique of her contemporary number with Season 3 All-Star partner Neil Haskell, judge Nigel Lythgoe asked 19-year-old Galvan "Have you ever been in love before?" and she responded with an emotional and halting, "As a matter of fact, I think I am."
Awwww.
After the show, Galvan revealed the identity of her love: boyfriend of little over a year, 21-year-old ballroom dancer Jared Murillo.
If that name rings a bell, then chances are you're a "High School Musical" -- or boy band V Factory -- fan, as he's appeared in all three "HSM" movies. He also famously dated another Ashley, Ashley Tisdale, for two years.

Really, So You Think You Can Dance? We're big fans and all, for many seasons now, and you look even more amazing in HD (we just upgraded after all these years).
But there was no competition last night, nor did we even get to see what the Top 11 or the All-Stars are really all about - if you missed it, you officially missed nada.
This was like a preseason game after the first three weeks of the regular season. What's the point? Why not jump right into the competition and elimination rounds?
We appreciated the truncated audition rounds, but Thursday was pure filler, no way around it, with random routines and the dancing groups arbitrarily grouped at that.
There were plenty of memorable moves, to be sure, but it was hard to even know who to watch sometimes. If this were the post-show tour, it would've worked more.

With "American Idol" in the rearview mirror, it's time for the reality competition that really pushes competitors to the limit and rarely disappoints. "So You Think You Can Dance" kicks off its seventh season with a two-hour premiere tonight (May 27) at 8 p.m., and with this new season, producer Nigel Lythgoe has shaken things up a bit by bringing in some new twists.
There are a handful of new rules that will switch up the competition entirely. The most notable one sees the jettisoning of the top 20. Instead, they're choosing 10 dancers right away (five guys and five girls) from the audition rounds in Las Vegas. The show will be augmented by a team of 12 "all-stars" — past contestants from different seasons who are "experts" in their particular dance genre. These dancers won’t be judged, and won't be choreographing.

Sassy Lauren Gottlieb is back on "So You Think You Can Dance," and she's more excited than before.
"It's really, really nerve-racking, and I think it'll bring back all those old feelings from the past," the dancer tells Zap2it about returning as an all-star partner to the Top 10 finalists.
"I think looking back on the show, being 18-years-old, it goes by really fast. From one day to the next you have to jump into a new skin. But this time, it's a little bit different. We don't get judged and we don't get voted off, which is amazing."
Gottlieb, now 21, isn't exactly sure how the new format will play out, but she's hoping not to feel overly responsible for how the contestants fare under her mentorship.
"It's a duet, it's a partnership," she says. "So if something goes wrong -- knock on wood right now -- I would totally feel responsible for it.

So You Think You Can Dance clearly took Sue Sylvester's advice and is swishing it up more than a bit for season 7, which premieres May 27. As previously announced, there will be 10 finalists, and only one dancer will be eliminated per week. Full disclosure: I'm a rabid So You Think You Can Dance fan. Every summer for the past four years the talent on display on this show simply blows every other reality competition out of the water. So much so, that one can even overlook the nagging, hetero-cheerleading presence of producer Nigel Lythgoe on the judging panel.
Nigel's peculiar obsession with the masculinity of male dancers aside, Sytycd raises your standards when it comes to dance. I mean, once you start watching this show it is awfully hard to sit through an episode of Dancing with the Stars.
Sytycd is now in its fifth season, and every year we wonder if they can assemble dancers talented enough to stack up against previous season standouts such as Travis Wall, Danny Tidwell, Neil Haskell, and a host of others.

The search for America’s favorite dancer is back! “So You Think You Can Dance” kicked off its fifth season last week, and last night, we got the chance to see the Miami and Memphis auditions, where thousands of pointy-toed contemporary dancers and bright-eyed poppers and lockers showed up for the chance to dance their way into America’s heart and to go on to a life of fame and fortune … or not.
Wait — where are all the former “Sytycd” contestants? As Kris Allen basks in the glory of his “American Idol” win, we couldn’t help but wonder what life after “Sytycd” looks like.
Since focusing on the competition’s winners would be a tad depressing (where is Sabra Johnson?), we decided to look back at what the show’s most successful, or at least most visible, graduates are doing now — and where you can find them next:
