The line of succession is set in stone but Prince Harry and Meghan Markle showed the world what happens when the boat is rocked. Still, Harry was the spare to the heir so the loss is minimal in more ways than one. Let’s take a look at the line of succession for any possible ruptures.

Prince George Will One Day Take Over

“Comparing The Acolyte to Breaking Bad is f—king insane”: The Acolyte Fans Have Reached Peak Delusion in Desperate Attempt to Cope After Star Wars Dropped the Ax on the Series
Image
Ever since Disney+ started putting out the Star Wars shows, fans of the franchise have become divided in the direction and the narrative choices that the shows made. Except for the first two seasons of The Mandalorian, Star Wars fans have not wholly enjoyed any other shows and The Acolyte has become the latest victim.

The Acolyte‘s cancellation has caused an outrage among fans of the show | Credits: Lucasfilm

The show looked promising in its initial episodes, but it fell apart towards the end, receiving scathing reviews. With the series now canceled, some fans are questioning the decision and how it was never given the chance to grow and find its footing. With wild comparisons to other shows like Breaking Bad, the discourse has gone bizarre and almost nonsensical.

The Acolyte Fans Are Calling Out Shows Like Breaking Bad Following Its Cancelation

‘Damsel’ Trailer – Millie Bobby Brown Battles a Dragon in ’28 Weeks Later’ Director’s Netflix Movie
Image
Up next from “Stranger Things” and Enola Holmes star Millie Bobby Brown is another project with Netflix, the actress set to star in the action-fantasy feature film Damsel.

Looking a bit like Ready or Not… with a fire-breathing dragon… Netflix’s Damsel starring Millie Bobby Brown will begin streaming March 8. Watch the Damsel trailer below.

Juan Carlos Fresnadillo (28 Weeks Later) directed the film for Netflix.

In the upcoming movie, “A dutiful damsel agrees to marry a handsome prince, only to find the royal family has recruited her as a sacrifice to repay an ancient debt. Thrown into a cave with a fire-breathing dragon, she must rely on her wits and will to survive”

Millie Bobby Brown teases this week, “She’s a damsel who doesn’t need to be saved. She saves herself in many ways. It subverts what you expect: You’re expecting the prince to turn around and save her,...

Diablo 4 Developers On Upcoming Season Of Blood's "Power Fantasy"
Image
Diablo 4 announced the theme of its upcoming Season 2 this week at Gamescom, dubbed Season of Blood. The vampire-centric era will be ushered in this fall, placing players in the new role of a daywalker just in time for Halloween. The Season of Blood will begin October 17, ending the current Season of the Malignant that began this July.

One of the biggest coming features with the new Diablo Season 2 is the addition of character Erys, a vampire hunter played by Eternals' actress Gemma Chan that will aid the protagonist in eradicating the new vampire threat facing Sanctuary. Though the player won't become a vampire themselves exactly, they will gain special new vampiric powers; however the exact mechanics of these are still under wraps for now. The new Season will also come with a host of other quality of life improvements, including a better inventory interface, updated elemental resistance systems, and how...

Rhoslc: Why Jen Shah Should've Received A Longer Prison Sentence
Image
Jen Shah from The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City was finally sentenced to 78 months in prison for wire fraud on January 6, but there are plenty of reasons why the disgraced housewife should've been given a harsher verdict. Jen, who was arrested by federal authorities in 2021 while Rhoslc season 2 was in production, was a controversial housewife long before her criminal activities were uncovered. With an affinity for conflict and a bad habit of public tantrums, Jen fought with several co-stars throughout the first two seasons of Rhoslc, such as Mary Cosby and Heather Gay.

Although Jen returned to the show shortly after her arrest and passionately proclaimed her innocence, Rhoslc's Jen pled guilty to conspiracy to commit wire fraud in July 2022 to avoid a trial and hopefully gain a reduced sentence. Jen, who was originally supposed to be sentenced in November 2022, before the date was pushed back twice to January...

Rhoslc: Jen Shah's Co-Conspirators' Sentences Revealed
Image
Jen Shah from The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City learned the fate of her co-conspirators as each was sentenced before her. Bravo fans will recall that Jen was arrested during Rhoslc season 2 as she tried to outrun the FBI on charges of committing wire fraud and money laundering. For months, the mother of two has stated she was not guilty, only to change her plea to guilty in July.

As Jen gets ready for her sentencing and crosses her fingers that she is given only three years, @bravobravoduckingbravo shared how other members of the case fared. While prosecutors are aiming for Jen to be held for at least 10 years behind bars, her former assistant, Stewart Smith, won't be sentenced until the very end. The outlet showed a list of "Tier A" defendants, which showed that Carl Morris was sentenced to 6.5 years and that Ryan Mult was given five years.

Outback Wrangler star Matt Wright charged over deadly helicopter crash in Australia
Image
Outback Wrangler star Matt Wright has been charged over a helicopter crash that killed fellow cast member Chris Wilson.

Wright, 43, a crocodile trapper and star of the National Geographic adventure series, had earlier handed himself in to police at a Darwin station following an arrest warrant, but strenuously denies any wrongdoing in the incident.

He was charged with attempting to pervert the course of justice, destroying evidence, fabricating evidence, making a false declaration, interfering with witnesses and two counts of unlawful entry.

Wright was bailed to appear at Darwin local court on Wednesday morning (30 November).

In a statement to the Australian Associated Press, a representative for Wright said: “Matt strenuously denies any wrongdoing. What happened was a tragic accident that took the life of a close mate.”

The representative added: “His immediate concern following the accident was the condition of the two team members on board at the time. The...

Attack the Block 2: John Boyega and Joe Cornish are collaborating on the story
Image
For years we’ve been hearing that writer/director Joe Cornish and actor John Boyega have been talking about making a sequel to their 2011 alien invasion film Attack the Block (watch it Here). The project was officially announced last year – and now Boyega has revealed to the folks at Collider that he and Cornish have been crafting the story for Attack the Block 2 together.

Boyega said,

The story has actually been presented by myself and Joe Cornish. We’ve collaborated heavily on making a story that makes sense for Moses and the other characters, and the new characters that will be coming up in the sequel too. And then, also, there’s different perspectives in writing it, with Joe having his perspective and me having mine. London has changed so much, in so many different ways, over the years since the first movie. We’re just trying to make...

Disney+ Adds Content Warning to ‘Obi-Wan Kenobi’ Premiere Episode
Ewan McGregor, James Earl Jones, Hayden Christensen, and Dmitrious Bistrevsky in Obi-Wan Kenobi (2022)
Warning: Spoilers ahead for the first episode of “Obi-Wan Kenobi” on Disney+

Disney+ has added a content warning to the premiere episode of the new series “Obi-Wan Kenobi,” in light of recent events. The addition came on Friday after many “Star Wars” fans were both perplexed and a bit upset after the premiere debuted on Thursday night.

“Although this fictional series is a continuation of the story from Star Wars movies filmed many years ago, some scenes may be upsetting to viewers in light of the recent tragic events,” the note reads in the “details” section of the show. “Warning: Contains violence involving children.”

The warning comes thanks to the first minutes of the new Disney+ series, in which audiences are taken through a recap of the events of the prequels, showing exactly where Obi-Wan’s story left off. But when the recap finishes, the story doesn’t immediately begin 10 years later.

It’s A Snub: Channel 4 & HBO Drama ‘It’s A Sin’ Misses Out At BAFTA TV Awards

Channel 4 and HBO’s lauded drama It’s a Sin missed out in several major categories at the BAFTA TV Awards this evening, as the BBC and ITV emerged as the big winners. Scroll down for the full list.

Russell T Davies’ Red Production Company-created drama was up for Best Mini-Series, with Olly Alexander in contention for Leading Actor and Lydia West competing for Leading Actress.

However, BBC prison drama Time won the Mini-Series category, Sean Bean won Leading Actor for the same drama and Jodie Comer’s performance in Channel 4’s Help pipped West and Kate Winslet in the Leading Actress Category.

Compounding a disappointing evening for the hotly-tipped show, Callum Scott Howells, Omari Douglas and David Carlyle lost out to Succession’s Matthew Macfadyen in the Supporting Actor category. ‘Ravenstein’ Review (Tubi)
Image
Stars: James McClusky, Nik Kaneti-Dimmer, Chris Wilson, Thomas Walters, Seth Easterbrook, Martyn Eade | Written by Eveshka Ghost, Thomas Walters | Directed by Eveshka Ghost

When I saw the title Ravenstein my first thought was I’d found an Edm mad scientist film, Ravers meets Depraved if you will. Then I saw the synopsis and the director. A film about two friends who run afoul of a birdman in an abandoned factory, directed by Eveshka Ghost who gave us the three-hour, no-budget fantasy The Bastard Sword? And it’s free on Tubi? How could I not watch it?

David (James McClusky; The Bastard Sword) and Marky (Nik Kaneti-Dimmer; The Granary) are riding their bikes one night when they notice part of the fence around an old worksite has fallen over, with nothing better to do they decide to go exploring. They find an abandoned glass factory and some terrible jokes. “My dad used to work in glass.

TV Ratings And Box Office Numbers Grow Increasingly Fuzzy As Nielsen And Rivals Grapple With Streaming Boom
Image
Numbers, those longtime pillars of the entertainment business, determiners of pay scale and quantifiers of the hot and the not, are vanishing from public view.

Streaming’s inexorable takeover of the industry has altered the once-straightforward process of measuring the performance of TV programs and movies. Of course, there has been grumbling for decades about Nielsen’s methods or the validity of box office projections, but there was generally some kind of verdict once a show aired or a movie opened. Today, not so much.

As companies transact directly with consumers and don’t always put advertising at the center of their calculations, viewership stats have become more elusive than at any time in the past few decades. Traditional gauges of linear viewing seem less relevant than ever, and TV programming outside of sports is increasingly judged by how effectively it lures streaming subscribers. As movies stream either at the...

Reopening Plans for Georgia’s Public Universities Are Under Fire from Students and Faculty
Image
Though the coronavirus is still, as President Trump put it last week, a “thing,” universities around the country are opening for the fall semester, albeit with an array of restrictions in place that are intended to tamp down the virus’ spread among students and faculty. But those restrictions seem to be particularly lax at public universities in Georgia, where students and faculty have been protesting a reopening plan predicated on in-person instruction, and which critics feel does not adequately address several potentially hazardous areas of student life.

One such area is student housing,...

‘The Eastern Front’ DVD Review
Image
Stars: Mhairi Calvey, Laura Jean Marsh, Chris Wilson, Neal Ward | Written by Cheryl Neve, Rick Roberts | Directed by Rick Roberts

The Eastern Front is the story of some German soldiers whose unit has been all but decimated (we are told). The men are making their retreat (I think) from the Russians back to there homelands on the Eastern Front. Somewhere on the way they have picked up some pretty tasty (I mean fighting wise you perverts) Russian dames, and because there are females in the mix everything is going to fall apart for our band of merry Nazis. [Full disclosure before we crack on, this movie took me about 4 attempts to finish both due to the 2-Hour length and I have been working quite a lot lately]

Over the last few years I have come to find that behind the scenes on these movies, especially lower budget indie stuff, their is a team of hardworking individuals that are trying to create something they can be proud of when they send out into the world. This movie is absolutely no exception.

New Joker Set Photos and Video Shows Joaquin Phoenix In Action in Full Make-up and Costume
We’ve got a new video from the set of director Todd Phillips Joker along with a collection of new photos to share with you today. They feature Joaquin Phoenix decked out in full make-up and also wearing a classic Joker-style suit.

Some fans were wondering if that first look we got of The Joker was going to be the final look of the character in the film, and judging by what we are seeing in these set photos and video, it looks like that it will be. I’m actually ok with that! I dig this look and I think Phoenix is going to completely own this character and give us something incredible.

I also included a couple other photos from the set. One featuring a poster of Thomas Wayne running for Mayor and another featuring a Gotham City subway map that is full of Batman Easter eggs for fan to search for.

Halloween Comic-Con Footage Has Michael Myers Killing Anyone in His Path
John Carpenter
Halloween 2018 left a horrifying mark on San Diego Comic-Con today when some extended footage of Michael Myers killing at random was unveiled. While reactions to the recently released promotional material for the film have been mixed between older and younger horror fanatics, the new Comic-Con footage seems to have bridged the gap and brought both factions together. Unfortunately, the new Halloween footage has not been released online, but we have a pretty good description about what to expect.

The new Halloween 2018 Comic-Con footage takes place on the last day of October, which should be pretty obvious. There's kids out trick or treating with their voices echoing around the streets. A group of kids in costume are walking when they suddenly bump into Michael Myers, who then walks past the kids to grab a hammer from a garage. The Shape then walks around in a house, picking up a knife in the kitchen.

Terrifying New Halloween Footage Screened At Comic-Con
Earlier today, Universal brought the goods to San Diego Comic-Con. During a very exciting panel, the studio offered up a look at two of their most anticipated releases. Up first, of course, was Glass. The threequel’s been building a steady amount of buzz for months now and today, they finally unveiled the first trailer, giving us a glimpse into what looks like another dark, twisted thriller from the mind of M. Night Shyamalan.

But there was another, perhaps even more anticipated film in attendance, too. Its name? Halloween. Yes, David Gordon Green’s upcoming sequel was present at Universal’s panel and though the footage they showed off hasn’t made its way online just yet – and it probably won’t, unfortunately – what we’re hearing about it has us very excited indeed.

Seen below is a sampling of what folks are saying on Twitter and it’s all positive,...

These People Ruined ‘A Quiet Place’ for Everyone Else
John Krasinski
John Krasinski’s thriller “A Quiet Place” made a lot of noise at the box office this weekend. And perhaps that’s apropos, since a lot of people have been complaining about loud moviegoers at their screenings of the film.

While it’s important to not text message, answer calls, talk or loudly eat popcorn and snacks that might annoy people and ruin the experience of a movie — no matter what you’re seeing — it’s especially true of “A Quiet Place.” The film, directed by and starring Krasinski, who co-leads with his wife Emily Blunt, is a horror movie about a family who live in silence, thanks to monsters that hunt whatever they can hear. And since nearly the whole movie is in silence with very little dialogue, literally every pin drop can send hearts racing.

TheWrap even made an etiquette video, urging theatergoers to be quiet during the movie. But it fell on, at least some, deaf ears. Based Twitter reaction, the film got ruined for a whole lot of people.

Gee, thanks.

How scary is “A Quiet Place”? Well, while we were leaving the theater a food server dropped a metal tray on the ground. Everyone who had just seen the movie spun around and looked at the noise with genuine terror. Hell of a film @johnkrasinski. #AQuietPlace pic.twitter.com/kIoCoyTKtW

A PSA for those going to see #aquietplace.

a. Phones off/silent & away.

b. If you Must answer it, leave the cinema in a quiet fashion.

More than three years after her firefighter lover fatally shot her husband, a California woman was sentenced to 25 years to life in prison for plotting the murder, People confirms.

Limon was found guilty in October of first-degree murder and accessory to murder in the death of her 38-year-old husband, railroad worker Robert Limon, who was found shot twice inside the Burlington Northern Santa Fe train yard in Tehachapi on August 17, 2014.

Nick Frost, Jodie Whittaker, Franz Drameh, Leeon Jones, and John Boyega in Attack the Block (2011)
Attack the Block Could Get a Sequel, American Remake, or TV Series
Nick Frost, Jodie Whittaker, Franz Drameh, Leeon Jones, and John Boyega in Attack the Block (2011)
Attack the Block has built up a devoted fan base since its theatrical release in late July, with many "Blockheads" already asking for a sequel. Director Joe Cornish revealed there are several ideas in play for a follow-up, one of which comes from star John Boyega. Here's what Joe Cornish had to say about John Boyega's Attack the Block sequel idea.

"[He] keeps coming up with amazing ideas. He has this image of a bigger alien attack on London, as if the attack we saw in Attack the Block was just the [first] wave and there's another wave of bigger creatures. And he described to me this image of Moses leading a whole army of hood kids across the Thames, next to the houses of Parliament. No, his image was even better. He had an image of Moses on a police horse. You know the police in London who have those horses they use in riots.

A Tattooed Mem Ferda to Feature in Plan B’s Film Ill Manors
Some casting details are coming in for Plan B's (Ben Drew) hip-hop musical Ill Manors. Mem Ferda has been attached to this production as the villain Vladimir, who lives a tough life on the streets of East London. These tough times are taken out on the character Katya (Natalie Press), who plays a prostitute. Ferda changed physically for this role by weightlifing and having several temporary tattoos applied to his skin. The original graphics can be seen left. Other characters had to transform for their roles to play those down on their luck and also starring are Riz Ahmed, Martin Serene, and Anouska Mond.

Others might know Plan B based on his musical talents including his chart topping album "The Defamation of Strickland Banks." Ill Manors will have a hip-hop musical vibe that will set the vicious tone for the film, with Plan B co-producing several new tracks for this film.

Attack the Block Gets July Stateside Release Date!
Nick Frost, Jodie Whittaker, Franz Drameh, Leeon Jones, and John Boyega in Attack the Block (2011)
Attack the Block, which has been riding a wave of buzz ever since its debut at the South by Southwest Film Festival earlier in the year, will be released in North American theaters on July 29. We reported back in April that Screen Gems acquired the distribution rights to Attack the Block.

Attack the Block will receive some stiff competition for box office dollars that weekend, with three wide releases and several other indie platform releases already slated. Cowboys & Aliens, Crazy Stupid Love, and The Smurfs will all receive a wide release on July 29. Limited releases include The Devil's Double, The Guard, Good Neighbours, and the documentary Life in a Day.

The July 29 weekend is now shaping one to be one of the most crowded weekends all summer (or all year) at the box office.

Review: Blitz
This is the review for Blitz on Pure Movies. The film is directed by Elliott Lester and starring Jason Statham (The Expendables, Snatch, The Transporter), David Morrissey (Centurion, Nowhere Boy), Luke Evans (Tamara Drewe, Robin Hood), Aidan Gillen (The Wire, Twelve Rounds), Paddy Considine (Submarine, The Bourne Ultimatum), Richard Riddell, Chris Wilson, Nicky Henson, Elly Fairman and Taya De La Cruz. Ah, the gritty underbelly of South-East London, where every copper is as mean as Jason Statham, every traditional pub has a man with a dog (or two), and every corner has a loony lurking in its shadows. Nathan Parker’s (Moon) adaptation of Ken Bruen’s novel, Blitz, couldn’t get more clichéd if it was a Guy Ritchie crime caper. Thankfully, there’s no cringeworthy ‘apples and pears’ Mockney slang in this – apart from the odd Statham muttering, and the ‘good’ side of the law looks as much...
