Jim Haggerty

Full Disclosure (2001)
You won't believe what amazing site The Onion is launching now
Full Disclosure (2001)
Praise the Internet Gods! The Onion — the best satire, well, anywhere — is taking on BuzzFeed et al, calling out their click-bait headlines, silly quizzes, and other attention-getting practices with a new website. (Full disclosure: EW.com’s editor, Kyle Ryan, worked at The Onion’s A.V. Club until last month.)

Called Clickhole.com, the venture will put “content and sponsored posts side by side, with barely any distinction between them. People will climb into this click hole and find content so interesting they won’t be able to keep it to themselves,” according to “Jim Haggerty,” an Onion...

We Wish The Onion's Fake New Food Show Was Real
Adam Richman
We've got to hand it to The Onion. Its latest parody, "Porkin' Across America," nails food reality television to a tee -- even the camera angles look like startlingly familiar. We half expected Adam Richman to suddenly jump into frame.

The show follows fictional host Jim Haggerty, who aims to pork it up in all 50 states. Episode 1 features Haggerty's first stop in Lexington, K.Y., where he makes insightful comments like, "It's times like these I thank god I'm not an observant Jew," and "Wow, you can really taste the cooked pork."

There's also a whole shtick with Haggerty's distressed wife calling and calling, begging him to come home. Being the wife of a food personality isn't all it's cracked up to be, apparently.

Watch the first episode of The Onion's "Porkin' Across America" below.

Crappy Movie Poster Monday: 'Highway 91'
No, I'm sorry. There's no such thing as 'Crappy Movie Poster Monday' - I just made that up as an excuse to show you this really awesomely bad independent horror movie poster. Enjoy.

This is the official poster for an independent horror film called Highway 91:

What's that? Maybe I'm taking the poster image out of context? Alright then:

This pretty much speaks for itself, don't you think?

The filmmaker, on his production company's Facebook Page, asks about this DVD cover, musing "I think it's pretty much done...but should I leave the quote or take it off?? Hmmmm...."

The quote on the cover is from that paragon of grammar and journalism, Horror-Movies.ca, that also had this to say about the trailer for Highway 91: "This badboy features, zombies, bullets flying into craniums, brains exploding and of course just utter gore, you know, the good stuff." Which just proves...

*Updated* Full Black Devil Doll details and more DVD news
First, a few street date updates: Shout! Factory’s DVD of Audition, which we broke the news on here, will arrive October 6. Monarch Video will release Farmhouse (see our review here) September 29; look for a making-of featurette and possibly other special features on that one. And First Look will issue Kyle Rankin’s big-bug opus Infestation on October 13, following its Syfy cable debut (see previous item here).

Lowest Common Denominator Entertainment has set an October 27 street date for its long-awaited special-edition disc of Black Devil Doll, and gave Fango the scoop on the complete details. The saga of an executed black militant’s spirit entering a ventriloquist’s dummy and wreaking all sorts of outrageous, politically incorrect havoc will be presented in widescreen with Dolby Digital 5.1 sound, plus an insane amount of special features:

Audio commentary by director Jonathan Lewis, writer/producer Shawn Lewis and writer/designer Mitch Mayes Audio...
