Netflix has not yet made an official announcement, but Deadline is reporting that your favorite streamer is in the early stages of development of a new fictional Netflix drama, which will take place in the world of professional wrestling. The reported name of the series might sound familiar to long-time friends of the entertainment event.
The show will be called Tuesday Night Titans, which is the same name as a 1980s wrestling program that eventually became a variety show. The series was also known as The TNT Show. That USA Network show is not connected to the new Netflix series.
The plot of the series follows a writer who recruits her long-estranged childhood friend, who works as a "jobber" in wrestling circles, in order to get jobs at a company they loved when they were young. Their lives become mirrors of the staged reality that professional wrestling encompasses.

Exclusive: Netflix is in early development on the drama series, Tuesday Night Titans, set in the high-stakes world of professional wrestling, from creator and writer Michael Notarile, who executive produces alongside Jon M. Chu and Caitlin Foito through Chu’s Electric Somewhere banner.

Set in the spectacle-driven world of professional wrestling, Tuesday Night Titans follows a tenacious writer who risks her career in the big leagues to recruit her estranged childhood best friend – a ‘jobber’ wrestler on the indies – to join the same behemoth company they idolized in their youth. Their destinies become entangled as they battle personal demons, ruthless colleagues, and their complicated history in an industry where “kayfabe” – wrestling’s staged reality – isn’t confined to the ring, but bleeds into every aspect of their lives.

Exclusive: Monarch Media has secured the rights to A Walk to Remember, the seminal early aughts coming-of-age romance from Nicholas Sparks, with plans to develop a reboot alongside the original film’s producers Denise Di Novi and Hunt Lowry.
An enduringly popular bestseller published in 1999, A Walk to Remember follows a rebellious high school senior who falls for a quiet, faith-driven girl after being forced to participate in a school play, discovering the transformative power of love, forgiveness and the beauty of living each day with purpose.
Famously, Shane West and Mandy Moore broke out with their turns in the original 2002 film adaptation from Warner Bros. While the Adam Shankman film made less than $48 million in theaters, it remains one of the most popular titles in the modern rom-com canon to this day.
The full producing team on the reboot will include Steve Barnett, Alan Powell and Vicky Patel for Monarch Media,...

The 15th annual Black List survey was revealed Monday December 16, and it includes 66 un-produced screenplays from up-and-coming literary talent. Results were pooled from a survey of more than 250 film executives, each of whom contributed the names of up to 10 favorite scripts that were written in, or are somehow uniquely associated with, 2019 and will not have begun principal photography during this calendar year. This year, scripts had to receive at least six mentions to be included on the Black List.
Since 2005, more than a third of the screenplays included in the annual Black List surveys have become produced films, and often to notoriety — such as “Argo,” “American Hustle,” “Juno,” “The King’s Speech,” “Slumdog Millionaire,” “Spotlight,” “The Revenants,” “The Descendants,” and “Hell or High Water.” Melina Matsoukas’s 2019 film “Queen & Slim,” written by Lena Waithe with a story co-authored by James Frey, was featured on the 2018 Black List.
