- Co-founder, with Ato Essandoh, of the theatre performance group The Defiant Ones.
- A long time martial artist with a 2nd degree black belt in Tae Kwon Do, Joshua has also studied Muay Thai kick-boxing, boxing, judo, and various other fighting arts since his father introduced him to Shorein Ryu karate at the age of 13. In 2010 training primarily in Brazilian Jiujitsu, holding the rank of purple belt as of 2015.
- Holds a 2nd degree black belt in Tae Kwon Do. Also studied boxing, Muay Thai, karate and judo, among other martial arts. Began training in Brazilian Jiujitsu in 2010 and as of 2015 holds rank of purple belt.
- Studied acting at the University of Iowa, later moved to New York City and became a prolific Off-Off-Broadway playwright while working odd-jobs such as moving furniture and video store clerk.
- Received his brown belt in Brazilian Jiujitsu on December 23, 2017, from Vitor Shaolin Riberio.
- Received his black belt in Brazilian Juijitsu from Professor Julio Rivera in August of 2023.
