Christopher Mormando is an American actor and filmmaker known for his roles in both comedy and drama.
Christopher Mormando was born in Brooklyn, New York to truck driver John Mormando and bookkeeper Rachel Mormando (Lisi) who divorced when he was 12. Christopher, who his friends nicknamed Chrisboy, was an active child who aspired to be an actor and director.
Mormando's early career was in sales. He faced run-ins with the law and served time in prison for inside trading before he embraced a second chance and turn his life around.
Mormando, who finally pursued his dream of acting in his 40s, began by studying under the famous stunt coordinator, John Cenatiempo (aka Johnny C). He also immersed himself in acting classes with New York based casting directors Suzanne Scheel and Eve Battaglia and found his way to screen soon thereafter.
One of Mormando's first on-screen roles came with the National Lampoon's feature film One too Many (2008). Several notable roles followed including Tommy Googootz in Lilyhammer (Netflix) and Goon in Marvelous Mrs. Maisel (Prime Video). Mormando quickly gained prominence and established himself as an emerging star name in For Life (ABC) and his best-known role to date as series lead Gaetano in Gravesend (Prime Video).
In 2024, it was announced that Mormando will make his directorial debut as well as produce and star in feature film Judge No Book by its Color (in production).
