The Cosby Show alumna Keisha Knight Pulliam has paid a heartfelt tribute to her former The Cosby Show co-star Malcolm-Jamal Warner.
In an Instagram post Sunday, Knight Pulliam wrote
“A week ago I lost my big brother, but I gained an angel…I love you… I miss you… We got our girls, ❤️” (a reference to Warner’s wife and daughter).
She wrote her caption alongside a clip of the Emmy-nominated and Grammy-winning Warner playing bass guitar onstage in front of a crowd at the City Winery in Atlanta.
Pulliam and Warner played siblings Theo and Rudy Huxtable on The Cosby Show throughout the show’s run from 1984 to 1992.
Warner died July 20 in a drowning accident while on vacation with his family in Costa Rica. He was 54.
In addition to The Cosby Show, his prolific acting career included series regular roles on The Resident and Malcolm & Eddie, along with dozens of other acting and directing credits.

Cosby was accused of s*xual assault by multiple women, and these accusations became public in 2014. More than 50 women claimed that he had s*xually assaulted them during the period from 1969 to 2004. He was convicted in 2018 but was later released from prison in 2021 after his conviction was overturned.
During his appearance on Jemele Hill is Unbothered after Cosby’s release from prison, he shared how he assessed the whole situation with Cosby as being more layered. He said that he couldn’t defend Cosby’s actions, but also added...

Warning! This article contains Spoilers for Bel-Air season 3.
The reimagined version of the 1990s sitcom The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, Bel-Air, has a notable, diverse soundtrack that adds to the story, characters, and atmosphere. Bel-Air takes the characters viewers know and love from the Will Smith original series and gives them a twist in a darker, grittier, more dramatic version of Fresh Prince. Both shows have the same basic premise, but Bel-Air made multiple changes to The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air.
Bel-Air season 3 follows Will, Carlton, the rest of the Banks family, and their friends as they go on their first summer vacation since Will moved to Bel Air. This provides new energy, as the characters have a fun summer away from school, but that doesnt mean Bel-Air season 3 is without drama. High production values & chemistry between Holland and Nivola elevate Apple TV+ series The Big Cigar. The unbalanced tone affects storytelling, but stunning visuals and score add depth to the plot. Nonlinear narrative and mismatched tone hold back the potential of strong performances in The Big Cigar.

February 4 was a big night for Taylor Swift, as she took home her fourth Album of the Year Grammy for “Midnights,” an achievement no other performer has ever managed. The Grammys handing out a fourth Album of the Year trophy to anyone is a big deal. But, strangely enough, Swift’s path to victory this time was arguably smoother than all of her previous wins.
Swift was aided by a couple of factors. The first and perhaps most obvious was that 2023 was simply the year of Taylor Swift. “Midnights” was a huge success commercially, achieving over 1.5 million album units in its first week, her biggest week ever at the time and a remarkable achievement for anyone’s 10th studio album. She followed that with the iconic Eras Tour, which is already the highest grossing tour of all time despite not being over yet. Additionally, the album produced multiple hit singles,...

At the Grammys, Best R&b Album and Best Progressive R&b Album have gone to some of the most influential artists in the industry, including Erykah Badu, Boyz II Men, Mary J. Blige, Chaka Khan, Frank Ocean, Beyoncé and Robert Glasper (much to Chris Brown’s chagrin). Let’s break down this year’s contenders.

The Writers Guild of America went on strike on May 2, and work on all television and film projects was stopped immediately by guild members. Production was able to continue on some projects that already had completed scripts, but since the nature of late-night talk shows requires timely jokes, they have all been off the air for exactly five months.
But, thanks to last week’s deal between the WGA and the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers (AMPTP), all of the late-night shows will return to the air on Monday, Oct. 2 with brand new episodes. As The Streamable noted last week, because these types of shows are generally day-to-day operations, they are able to get back to airing new episodes almost immediately.

Over the course of four years and three albums, Atlanta singer-songwriter Summer Walker has developed an incredible talent for detailing the messy epiphanies of Black romance. The 27-year-old artist writes like a student of the late Betty Wright, Mary J. Blige, and K. It came as a surprise, then, that Walker announced on one of her social media accounts prior to the release of her Clear 2: Soft Life,...

There's something particularly profound about Mary J. Blige holding her Strength of a Woman festival in the heart of Black culture's mecca. This year, the queen of hip-hop soul returned to Atlanta from May 11-14 for her second annual "by us for us" event - an uplifting, fulfilling, and fun-filled experience that catered to every woman in attendance. And boy, did they have a time.
The best way to describe the Strength of a Woman festival is like a warm hug from your family matriarch, welcoming you with open arms for the most captivating weekend of your life. R&b is one of the biggest genres not only in music consumption but in the awards conversation. Artists like Beyoncé, Silk Sonic, Jazmine Sullivan, Jon Batiste, and H.E.R. have made a lot of noise due to their success at the Grammys, and it’s likely that one or two breakouts from this year will join their ranks. Let’s take a look at some buzzing names in R&b contention this year.
SEEBillboard Hot 100: Every #1 song of 2023
If you’re talking about R&b in 2023, you have to talk about Sza. The singer-songwriter has had a great year with the success of her sophomore album, “Sos.” It’s indisputably the frontrunner for Best Progressive R&b Album. There is, perhaps, a chance that the record could be moved to the pop field because it juggles many genres at once, but let’s assume it’s in R&b for now.

Dinner Party — the jazz/hip-hop supergroup composed of Robert Glasper, Terrace Martin, Kamasi Washington, and 9th Wonder — brought the whole family to Jimmy Kimmel Live! for a performance of their single “Insane” with guest vocalist Ant Clemons.
Following an introduction by the host that misidentified the track as coming from their “self-titled EP” rather than their new sophomore LP, Enigmatic Society, the scene opened to the quartet and Clemons huddled on couches for a casual, impromptu hangout that was immediately inviting and effortlessly cool. The laidback and intimate setting perfectly fit the song’s vibey tone and lovelorn lyrics, while the band’s close proximity only added to the intense and intricate interplay between Glasper’s keys, Martin’s synth and vocoder acrobatics, Clemons’ vocals, and Washington’s saxophone flourishes. Watch the replay below.

If day one of Coachella was about major superstars pulling out all the stops, day two was about showing off talent in a more straightforward way. The artists who took the stage brought out just a few surprise guests here and there, but relied on the strength of their choreography and lengthy catalogs of hits, all things that made sets from Rosalía, Charli Xcx, and Blackpink some of the biggest standouts.
All of them played back-to-back on the main stage, where pop music dominated. With near-perfect weather, pop fans were...

Celebrated singer-songwriter Meshell Ndegeocello is back with a new song, “Virgo.” The single will appear on her first album of all new material in nearly a decade, The Omnichord Real Book, out June 16 via Blue Note.
“Virgo” is a slinky, eight-minute jazz-soul epic that blends everything from disco guitar and plucky synths to atmospheric washes of sound and a bit of ethereal harp: “They’re calling me back to the stars,” Ndegeocello sings. “Deep outer space, they’re calling me.”
The Omnichord Real Book follows Ndegeocello’s 2018 covers album, Ventriloquism,...

Chris Brown has caused a couple’s relationship to rupture.
During one of the “Freaky Friday” singer’s recent concerts, a woman received a lap dance onstage from Brown, which left her boyfriend, whom she attended the show with, infuriated.
Following the concert, the angry boyfriend took to TikTok to share a video of the erotic dance, in which his girlfriend appears to be enjoying the performance as she ran her hands down Brown’s body. She even fanned herself with her hand.

Dinner Party — the jazz/hip-hop supergroup comprised of Terrace Martin, Robert Glasper, Kamasi Washington, and 9th Wonder — have shared “Insane,” a new song recorded with Ant Clemons. Listen to the single below.
“Insane” boosts a sampled drum loop from Mtume’s “Juicy Fruit” with fuzzed out bass, layering Glasper’s famous piano and Clemons’ vocals on top of the 1983 track’s syncopated rhythms. The result is what Dinner Party does best, blending the soul of R&b with hip-hop production.
Dinner Party formed back in 2020, when the group released a self-titled album that they quickly refreshed with Dessert, a new version of the LP that featured Snoop Dogg, Herbie Hancock, Alex Isley, and more. One such song, “Freeze Tag,” was one of the best releases of the year.
