Vampires Run Amok During World War II in The Bleeding
We heard from the fine folks behind the WWII vampire project The Bleeding (not to be confused with Charlie Picerni’s direct-to-video action horror film that starred Michael Matthias, Vinnie Jones, Dmx, and Michael Madsen) a little while ago with an update and some fresh promo art for you. Get the skinny and the eye candy below!

German director Josef Rusnak (The Thirteenth Floor, It's Alive, The Contractor) is now attached to direct. Jeremy Wall (Jaz Films) optioned the script and is producing along with Corina Danckwerts. They produced the supernatural thriller The Objective, written and directed by Daniel Myrick (The Blair Witch Project). The Bleeding is based on a short story by Bram Stoker Award-nominated William R. Trotter entitled "The Bleeding of Hauptmann Gehlen". The script was penned by John and Paul Buckholts, who are also executive producing.

More as it comes.

The Bleeding (2009)
Directed by: Charlie Picerni

Written by: Lance Lane

Cast: Michael Matthias, Michael Madsen, Vinnie Jones, Rachelle Leah, Armand Assante, Dmx

I just finished watching The Bleeding and I'm just going to dive in here. I won't bother developing a clever thesis statement or a hook to hang the review on. The Bleeding is a bad movie. I mean, bad — B. A. D.

You look at the posters for The Bleeding and you see names like Vinnie Jones, Armand Assante and Michael Madsen, and you think, "Huh, those are some pretty big names." Let me hip you to a little insider movie secret: They aren't really big names. They’re "big enough" names, as in big enough to get a bad movie sold to a distributor, but not big enough open a "real" movie. Red flag.

The Bleeding was made a couple of years ago and it's been sitting on the shelf for a while,...

The Bleeding Trailer: You Will Watch It, You Will Love It, And You Will Hate Yourself
This is either the worst or the most entertaining trailer I've ever seen. Or somewhere in between. I do know that it's never going to see the inside of a movie theater. But The power of Vinnie Jones in a wig compelled me to watch it, and there's a strange, black tar heroin-like allure to it. It's so awful, so horrible, and yet... I just couldn't stop.

This is the trailer for The Bleeding, which sounds like the title of a Cannibal Corpse album. Oh, wait. It is the title of a Cannibal Corpse album. Appropriate, I suppose. Here's the gloriously brief, painful synopsis:

An ex-Army Ranger searching for the killer of his parents discovers a family of vampires in a former chemical weapons factory-turned-nightclub.

Right. Here's the thing: if Hollywood was ever consumed in an holy cleansing fire, and the earth was salted and made barren, and then arsenic...

Vampire Flick The Bleeding Finally Gets a Trailer. Unfortunately.
Anchor Bay Entertainment has finally released a trailer for the long-delayed vampire movie “The Bleeding”. Unfortunately, the wait hasn’t exactly been worth it. That is, if you were waiting for it. This … does not look like a very good movie. Michael Madsen looks like the best thing about it, plus I think Armand Assante shows up at some point to do something, though I’m not really sure what. Rapper Dmx and tattoo chick Katherine von Drachenberg aka Kat Von D co-stars alongside leads Rachelle Leah and Michael Matthias. Vinnie Jones plays a pimp vampire. Or something. Shawn Black (Matthias) knows pain. His parents and brother were killed in front of him. Beaten, bloodied and left for dead by a gang of ruthless vampires led by the charismatic Cain (Jones) and his lethal lieutenant Vanya (Kat Von D). But like his would-be murderers, Shawn has come back from the...

DVD Review: The Bleeding
The Bleeding

Stars: Michael Matthias, Vinnie Jones, Michael Madsen, Armand Assante, Dmx | Written by Lance Lane | Directed by Charlie Picerni

Shawn Black (Matthias) is an ex-army ranger returning home after fighting for his country. When a sect of vampires attack his family home, they kill his parents, burn down his house and leave him for dead. Surrounded by carnage, slaughter and total mayhem Black takes the fight to the Vampire hordes in a desperate race to save the world from pure evil.

The film, which comes from one of the producers of Rambo and Righteous Kill, is in the same vain as the original Rambo movie – war hero returns from battle to face another war at home. Only this war is against vampires! Yes you’ve guessed it, The Bleeding is Buffy for blokes (although wasn’t Buffy really aimed at fellas?) – with the unwitting vampire slayer played by newcomer Michael Matthias,...

Kat Von D Talks The Bleeding at the Film's La Premiere
This scribe hit the red carpet for the Los Angeles premiere of Crush Film’s The Bleeding last night at Sunset 5 in Hollywood, CA, and chatted with the film’s co-star and tattoo artist extraordinaire Kat Von D of the reality series "La Ink". Von D talked up her role as the sexy vampire Vanya in what is her feature film debut, which was directed by Charles Picerni, as well as riffed on the effects required of her.

"It was very rock n’ roll! The prosthetics were my favorite part, and I made friends with all of the prop guys," Von D told Dread Central of her relationship with the film’s FX team. "The hardest part was when I had to bite this girl’s neck when she was tied up. I felt so bad because she was a really good actress and she was screaming and I was...

Michael Madsen’s The Bleeding Trailer
Michael Madsen takes on Vinnie Jones in the new vampire movie, The Bleeding, on November 10th. The film also stars Dmx, Kat Von D, Michael Matthias (he kind of looks like Vin Diesel) and Armand Assante. Hopefully this won't be as bad as Steven Seagal's Against the Dark When ex-us Army Ranger Shawn Black searches for the brutal killer of his parents, he discovers a terrifying family of vampires led by Cain, The Vampire King. Tipped off by a friendly cop and fortified with blessed weaponry supplied to him by a boozy priest, Black must infiltrate the vampire's lair - a former chemical weapons factory turned night club where he will finally meet the creature that has changed his life forever.
