Exclusive Mold! Clip Grows On You
Ah, Thursday. You're like the signpost that leads us into the weekend. To show you how much we love you, we're going to give you the gift of Mold! Well, really a clip with Mold! in it. The gross and disgusting kind.

Synopsis

It's 1984, and the war on drugs just got weird. A classified government project is under way to create a new weapon to combat the drug cartels. That weapon is a fast-growing, genetically engineered strain of mold designed to wipe out coca fields - the only problem is, this Mold also feeds on human flesh. And when the murderous mildew is mysteriously released in a secret lab, it wages its own war on a group of unsuspecting scientists and military officials, who are forced to fight their way to safety while trying to contain the Mold before it is unleashed on the world.

After self-distributing the film online a year ago,...

Mold! Finally to Grow on DVD this May
Mold can be a slow-growing organism. For Neil Meschino’s icky, gory throwback to slimy Eighties horror movies, Mold!, it’s been a slow-growing process from conception to digital. The spores finally take hold when the film infects digital this May.

So what exactly will survive after a nuclear disaster? Cockroaches and mold. With resiliency like that, you'd have to imagine that sooner or later some horror director would tap the funky fungus to be the star of a film ... and Neil Meschino is just that director. Read on for the details.

With the early 80's war on drugs as a backdrop, Mentally Ill Pictures presents Mold!, starring Ardis Campbell, Robert Fattorini, Chris Gentile and Lawrence George. As you'll see by the trailer below, this horror-comedy is a definite case of schlock and awe! Director Meschino is currently self-distributing the film online. You can check it out at the official site, Moldthemovie.com.

Interview with director Neil Meschino of Mold!
Think back to the early 1980's. Think back to director Frank Henenlotter. Think back to a little film known as Basket Case. While clearly not a film for all tastes including mine, the film definitely had cult classic written all over it. Now enter director Neil Meschino of the film Mold!. While Mold!, starring Edward X. Young, Ardis Campbell, Robert Fattorini, Chris Gentile, Lawrence George, Rick Haymes, Mike Keller and director Neil Meschino, isn't as boundary pushing as Basket Case, it captures the same spirit, the same tone as Basket Case. Working in the film's favor is the fact that it is more commercial and accessible then Basket Case, yet it is its own unique film. It's different. It has edge. It has something to it. Could director Neil Meschino have a possible cult classic on his hands? Only time will tell, but just in case Mold! does reach that...
