They include a film version of hit TV series ‘The Trading Floor’.

Hong Kong’s Universe Films Distribution is (virtually) introducing a string of high-profile blockbuster titles to buyers at the Marche.

They include Herman Yau’s financial drama Trading Floor and Oxide Pang’s action thriller High Forces. Both are produced by and will star Andy Lau.

Trading Floor is about an intern and his mentor at a multinational investment bank. Filming is expected to begin early next year with Oho Au in the cast.

High Forces takes place on a plane where a former Swat member is caught up in a hijack.

The revival of category III rated Chinese erotic cinema continues with “Due West: Our Sex Journey”, based on the popular internet writings of Xiang Xi Murakami Haruki. Like the recent global hit “Sex & Zen: Extreme Ecstasy”, the film was shot in 3D, and comes from the same team, again written by Mark Wu, who also worked on the screenplay for “Lan Kwai Fong”, and who here makes his directorial debut. When reviewing 3D Sex and Zen: Extreme Ecstasy it’s hard to understand what point of view to take it from. If you take it from the fact it’s advertised as the first 3D “erotic” movie then you would expect nothing but a porn movie where you have to wear uncomfortable glasses and expect to be sexually turned on by what you are seeing, but then when you actually do make it through it you realise that it’s false advertising.
