One might suspect the Syfy premiere of Jules Verne’s The Mysterious Island last February was another “mockbuster” from The Asylum, timed to coincide with the theatrical release of Journey 2: The Mysterious Island. But blame this one on the Syfy channel, as The Asylum wasn’t involved with this 2010 production. And that’s unfortunate, as this movie lacks any sense of fun or campy humor.

New Trailer for Skateland Starring Ashley Greene & Shiloh Fernandez
Also starring A.J. Buckley, Caleb Michaelson & Cameron Pierce, the story takes place in the early 1980s, in small-town Texas, where dramatic events force a 19-year-old skating rink manager to look at his life in a very new way. The film premiered a the Sundance Film Festival in 2010, and later played at the South by Southwest, Dallas, Seattle, Indianapolis and Edmonton Film Festivals.
