Tracker Season 2, Episode 8 Review: Justin Hartley's Procedural Exposes Everything It Needs To Fix When Season 2 Returns
Image
The Tracker season 2 fall finale, "The Night Movers," finally moves the needle on Colter Shaw's Gina Picket case, but the outing may have been better if it focused on its weekly case instead. Tracker, the most-watched TV show of the 2023-2024 season (breaking NCIS' 5-year streak), returned for its sophomore season to high expectations, and understandably so. Marking Justin Hartley's first post-This Is Us series, Tracker follows its titular character as he roams the country for missing people's cases. In season 2, however, the CBS procedural seems to be struggling to find its identity.

Tracker follows lone-wolf survivalist Colter Shaw as he navigates the country as a reward seeker. Utilizing his expert tracking skills, he aids private citizens and law enforcement in solving various mysteries while grappling with issues from his fractured family.

Cast Arianna McGregor, Zia Newton, Dalias Blake, Aggie Bell, Jeremy Jones, Ashley Roxburgh, Paniz Zade, Mattia Castrillo,...

Must Watch TV Shows for Fans of Reacher
Image
Prime Video's Reacher became an instant hit with audiences when it was released in 2022. Telling the story of a retired special investigator for the US Army's Military Police, the series has adapted one of Lee Child's original novels per season. Beginning with Reacher's arrival in Margrave, where he solved the murder of his brother, the show was praised by critics for pacing, writing, and character development.

Many series fall into the category of a must-see for fans of Reacher, and that mirrors the show's combination of crime, conspiracy, and action. Different shows can appeal to different aspects of what made the Prime series work, ranging from the murder mystery side to the high-octane action. Ranging from weekly, done-in-one procedurals to serialized action shows, there are plenty of stories for Reacher fans.

Tracker Star Shares Hopes for What's Next With Jensen Ackles After Season 2 Return
Image
Tracker star Justin Hartley recently discussed the upcoming second season, revealing his expectations for the show's continued exploration of Colter Shaw's relationship with his on-screen brother, Russell (Jensen Ackles). Russell Shaw will feature more prominently in Tracker Season 2, which premieres on October 27.

In an interview with Collider, Hartley addressed what he would like to see with the relationship between the brothers in Tracker Season 2, given the family bombshell that was dropped on Colter in the first season. "When Colter finds out exactly whats going on and I've struggled with that because there are so many different ways to skin this cat and I don't know which way is better or more interesting and he learns the absolute, undeniable truth," he said. "Does he find out from his sister? Is it from his brother? Is it his mother? Is it a combination of all three? Is it none of them? Is...

Jensen Ackles' Tracker Return Comes With a Sneaky Supernatural Reference
Image
Jensen Ackles is best known for his role as Dean Winchester in the longtime CW fantasy series Supernatural. Since then, he joined several other projects, including the CBS hit drama Tracker, which just returned with Season 2.

Ackles plays Russell Shaw, Colter Shaw's brother, who is the lead character, played by This Is Us star Justin Hartley. The actor made his debut on the CBS series in Season 1 and has a recurring guest star role in Season 2. Ackles just appeared in Episode 2, which premiered on the channel on Oct. 20, and his return featured a very sneaky Supernatural reference, as reported by People.

Julie And The Phantoms Season 2 Not Happening - Why The Netflix Show Was Canceled

The first season ended with a cliffhanger, leaving many unanswered questions and indicating that the show was meant to continue with further storylines. The show's creators had plans for a second season, including exploring the ghosts' desire to share their music with the world, but unfortunately, those plans will never come to fruition due to the cancellation.

The musical comedy-drama television series was based on the Brazilian show Julie e os Fantasmas and was created by Dan Cross and David Hoge and executive produced by Kenny Ortega, who had previously signed a multi-year deal with Netflix.

Dee Bradley Baker and John Cena in Peacemaker (2022)
Peacemaker Actress Alison Araya On Life As A Character Actor And Pedro Almodovar [Interview]
Dee Bradley Baker and John Cena in Peacemaker (2022)
Among the subplots and side characters, there is a very dark romantic comedy playing out in "Peacemaker." It's the story of Amber and Evan, a couple without a whole lot of pleasantries to say about one another. Peacemaker crashes into their apartment, hits it off with Amber over music, and then one thing later leads to another. Per usual with writer-directorJames Gunn's work, almost everyone scores laughs in a story with no small parts.

For character actress Alison Araya, the experience and the role was one of her most fulfilling gigs in her already stacked resume. If there's a TV show on the...

‘Brazen’ Review: Alyssa Milano Dares You Not to Laugh in Tawdry Serial Killer Thriller
Image
More like “Fifty Shades of Beige,” “Brazen” applies an unconvincing dollop of kink into an equally by-the-numbers suburban mystery, providing a vehicle for producer-star Alyssa Milano as a crime novelist turned sleuth after her sister’s murder. This Netflix adaptation of a 1988 tome by prolific romance scribe Nora Roberts is slick but increasingly silly, its various elements so obvious and formulaic that they induce giggles more than chills by the climax. Still, whether viewers are looking for unintentional laughs or the streaming equivalent of a throwaway beach read, Monika Mitchell’s feature does offer some guilty-pleasure entertainment value.

Introduced reading from her latest “Brazen Virtue” (the actual Roberts novel this is based on) at a public event, Milano’s Grace Miller is a celebrity author with a big fanbase. Having frowned upon some of Kathleen’s (Emilie Ullerup) past life choices, she hasn’t actually seen her younger sibling in five years,...

Noelle Poster Unites Anna Kendrick & Bill Hader in Disney+ Holiday Comedy
Disney brought the holiday season to the D23 Expo this year with the fantasy comedy Noelle. The Christmas comedy starring Anna Kendrick (Pitch Perfect) and Bill Hader (Barry) was originally slated to hit theaters in November this year, but was pulled from the release calendar. It seems Santa Claus' daughter has found a home on the family-friendly streaming service instead.

Anna Kendrick released an image of herself dressed as the jolly character in 2017 when the film was first announced, and now the poster gives us a look at how horrified and worried her character actually is.

The film centers on the daughter of the real Santa Claus, Noelle. When her father decides to retire, and her brother gets cold feat just before his first Christmas Eve, Noelle must take up the family business.

According to the new poster, Noelle might not have to do it alone. Comedian Bill Hader is pictured beside her,...

Caprica Season 1.5 DVD & cast updates
The Caprica Season 1.5 DVD is out this Tuesday (Dec. 21) and you can still pre-order it on Amazon. NBC has sent out copies for review and the first interesting bits about the commentary tracks come from IGN's Eric Goldman; one about plans to have James Callis and Tricia Helfer appear in the second half of season one, and another about one of the Final Five appearing in season two (if the show hadn't been pulled).

If you haven't seen the last five episodes, the general consensus is that they're the best part of the season. For better or worse, the show got a lot more prequelized and the hour that was cut last year can be felt, especially in the last two episodes, but the storylines, characters, dialogue and everything else stayed as frakking inspired as it always has been. Be warned, though. The finale wraps up the most prominent storylines...

Apples, letter campaign & cast updates
A lengthy round of updates today.

The campaigns to bring Caprica back for another season are still very much alive and kicking. The second round of apples will be shipped to Mark Stern this Thursday, and the letter campaign just got easier. If you want to send a letter to Syfy and NBC, head over to Caprica Times or the Battlestar Cafe for the addresses and info on the fastest way to do it.

Bear McCreary tweeted some great (unofficial) news about another Caprica CD, so keep an eye on him on Twitter for updates. These days, he is writing the score for Summer Glau's new show, The Cape, which kicks off on Sunday, January 9 at 9 pm on NBC. On other fronts, The Walking Dead season finale aired yesterday and Eureka is back with a holiday episode tomorrow night.

Caprica starts airing in Asia this week. The show will...

Synopsis for Caprica 1x16, "The Heavens Will Rise," and some cast updates
Caprica 1x16, "The Heavens Will Rise," airs tonight at 10 pm on Space. Both this week's episode and the next one, "Here Be Dragons," were directed by Michael Nankin.

Beyond that, there isn't much info out there about the last few eps, but there has been a lot of speculation about some massive plot points that happen toward the end of the season, so whether you are DVRing, downloading, waiting for the DVD, or waiting for Syfy to air the episodes, if you don't like reading major spoilers, stay away from reviews and discussion forums. Great choice there for most people: either steal or be spoiled. Thanks for that too, Syfy.

That said, Space has posted the synopsis for "The Heavens Will Rise:"

The Graystones (Eric Stoltz & Paula Malcomson) search New Cap City for Zoe (Alessandra Torresani), while Lacy (Magda Apanowicz) uncovers a mystery about the Cylons. Clarice (Polly Walker) learns the truth about Amanda.

Blowback, Save Caprica campaign, and cast updates
Caprica 1x14, "Blowback," finally had its international premiere yesterday, for lack of a better word. The episode was written by Kevin Murphy and directed by Omar Madha, and it's definitely one of the best episodes so far. If you have seen it, wherever you may have seen it, you can rate it below.

Space posted the Innerspace podcast on their website the other day and it's definitely something worth checking out, especially if you're also a fan of Stargate Universe. You can find it at Spacecast.com. Among other things, they explain why Caprica isn't available for viewing on their site and voice their surprise at Syfy's decision to pull the show off the air and alienate their BSG fan base the way they did.

They have also apologized to the Canadian viewers who missed last week's episode because their DVRs hadn't registered the last minute schedule change in time.
