Vision showrunner Terry Matalas was a guest at this weekend's "Star Trek Las Vegas" convention and dropped a couple of exciting MCU updates during a Q&a with fans.
There have been rumblings for some time about Star Trek: Picard star Todd Stashwick (Starfleet Captain Liam Shaw) playing an assassin tasked with capturing the former Avenger, and Matalas has finally confirmed that he will play Vision's Paladin.
Created by writer Jim Shooter and artist Carmine Infantino, the character first appeared in Daredevil #150, and while he's not strictly a supervillain, his mercenary activities often bring him into conflict with characters like Spider-Man and The Punisher.
The biggest news to come out of Matalas's appearance is that Stashwick's Picard co-star, Orla Brady, will be taking over the role of F.R.I.D.A.Y. (in "human" form) from Kerry Condon. The F1: The Movie star lent her voice to Tony Stark's A.

Marvel Studios’ third WandaVision spin-off is almost ready to move into post-production. After production designer Will Hughes-Jones teased that an unnamed Marvel project would wrap filming in July, it has now been confirmed that Vision Quest is the series that will wrap next week after months of production at Pinewood Studios in London. The series will mark Paul Bettany’s long-awaited return as Vision, continuing the story that began in the WandaVision finale, where the “White Vision” was rebuilt with no emotional memory of his past life.
While Marvel has yet to confirm a release window, the latest update means the series is one step closer to becoming a reality on Disney+, likely during the 2026 release slate. A trio of incredibly powerful villains will take center stage in the upcoming 2026 WandaVision sequel, Vision Quest. Kicking off the Multiverse Saga in 2021, WandaVision featured a thrilling story behind Wanda Maximoff and Vision, the second part of which came in 2024's Agatha All Along. Now, Vision will have the spotlight all to himself, although he will have no shortage of enemies trying to take him down.
Vision Quest is confirmed to feature three powerful villains alongside Paul Bettany's White Vision. Serving as a massive sequel for multiple MCU legacy projects, Vision Quest will pick up with the titular android following White Vision's mysterious departure from Westview at the end of WandaVision. Could Marvel finally be giving us the MCU crossover we’ve all waited for? It could finally be happening, it seems!
The Marvel Cinematic Universe has seen its share of ups and downs over the last few years. Just as it looked like the franchise was unstoppable following the game-changing, box-office-dominating Avengers: Endgame, it has hit the skids and is no longer the consistent force that it once was.
Some of the reasons for Marvel's recent inconsistencies are beyond the McU's control, like the pandemic, the 2024 Hollywood strikes, and parting ways with Jonathan Majors (which forced Marvel to drop Kang as the Multiverse Saga's next big villain). Although it appears as if it's back on track, there is still concern about the creative direction for the franchise as they build to Avengers: Doomsday.

Marvel fans, get ready — White Vision (Paul Bettany) is almost back online. Vision Quest, one of the MCU’s most secretive upcoming projects, just got a significant behind-the-scenes update that suggests the series is farther along than expected. According to production designer Will Hughes-Jones, an unnamed Marvel project — widely believed to be Vision Quest — is now set to wrap filming next month.
Paul Bettany returns as Vision, but it’s a very different version than the one who charmed Wanda and viewers alike. Following the events of WandaVision, the synthezoid was rebuilt and reprogrammed before experiencing an existential awakening — and flying off to an uncertain future. Showrunner Terry Matalas recently teased that Vision Quest will pick up directly from that moment, telling The Sackhoff Show podcast that the show “is following that character, and that character’s journey.”
Matalas, fresh off Star Trek: Picard, hinted at the complexity of working within Marvel canon.

We haven't seen the powerful supervillain known as Ultron since 2015's Avengers: Age of Ultron, and fans have been hoping to see the megalomaniacal AI make his return to the MCU ever since.
Back in Auguest, the news broke that James Spader is set to reprise the role for the planned Disney+ Vision series, which is being described as "the third part of a trilogy that started with WandaVision and continued in Agatha All Along."
Ultron was created by Tony Stark and Bruce Banner to be part of a peacekeeping program that was meant to "put a shield around the Earth" as a defence against invasion, but the AI ended up turning against humanity and was ultimately destroyed by his "son" Vision towards the end of Age of Ultron.
How he will be reintroduced remains to be seen, but Spader is expected to play Ultron in human form along with...

After WandaVision premiered, Marvel announced two spin-off shows: one about Agatha Harkness and another about White Vision. With Agatha All Along already out and loved by fans, attention is now turning to the final piece of this trilogy, Vision Quest.
So far, not much is known about Vision Quest’s story, but it will focus on White Vision’s journey following the events of WandaVision. Fans are also expecting the return of Ultron, the villainous robot, which has been recently confirmed. There’s talk that Jocasta, known in Marvel comics as Ultron’s “bride,” might appear too.

There have been a lot of Vision leaks as of late, but the latest sheds some light on how the series ends. It's a new era for Marvel Television now that Kevin Feige and company are back to focusing on quality over quantity, and it seems the studio is taking its time in figuring out how this show fits into wider plans for the MCU.
Daniel Richtman has proven himself a reliable source for Vision intel, and now reports that multiple endings are being tested for the series.
One option for the finale features Billy Maximoff and Ghost Agatha, while another would focus on the return of Elizabeth Olsen as Wanda Maximoff, a.k.a. the Scarlet Witch.
We'd imagine it will ultimately boil down to what works best for the story and where in the MCU release calendar Vision eventually falls.

One long-rumored cast member of the upcoming Vision Quest series may not be a part of the series after all. The project has been in development since October 2022 and is the second spin-off of WandaVision, which premiered in 2021. The first spin-off, released last year, was Agatha All Along, starring Kathryn Hahn. The show will pick up Vision's story from WandaVision, in which he fought a version of himself that helped him to restore his memories after being used as a weapon by S.W.O.R.D. With its central premise surrounding artificial intelligence, a rumor had been circulating that Kerry Condon, who voices F.R.I.D.A.Y. (Iron Man's AI), will get a body of their own in the series. Now, Condon herself has commented on the possibility.

Sorry, Marvel fans, but Kerry Condon is not returning to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The F.R.I.D.A.Y. voice actor has debunked a rumor stating that she would be making her live-action debut as the AI in the upcoming Vision Quest series.
During an interview with Et, Condon was asked to address the rumors of her returning to the MCU as F.R.I.D.A.Y. for Vision Quest. "It's not true. It's not true. And I saw it, and I was like, 'Who's saying this?' It's not true, no, no, no," she stated. However, a F.R.I.D.A.Y. return is definitely still in the cards, as, after the interviewer asked if there was no chance of her coming back, Condon clarified, "I wouldn't say no chance. But at the moment, no, it's not in the cards for me."

Is Kerry Condon truly confirmed to be portraying the human form of F.R.I.D.A.Y. in the upcoming Vision Disney+ series?
While walking the red carpet for the premiere of F1, Condon stated that the rumor was not true.
"It's not true. I saw that and I was like, "Who's saying these things?'," exclaimed the Irish actress. However, she went on to add that she wouldn't say "there's no chance" it could happen "but at the moment, it's not in the cards for me."
The initial report came from Daniel Richtman, who is usually right more than he's wrong. To be fair, he was the first to report that Emily Hampshire would be portraying E.D.I.T.H. in Vision, a report that was later confirmed by Deadline.

Season 3 of AMC and Sky's hit crime drama Gangs of London welcomed some new faces like Andrew Koji, Richard Dormer, and T’Nia Miller to the criminal underworld. This meant that the chess board held too many pieces, and as such, some needed to step aside. By the time Season 3 was done, the crime drama had lost a couple of lead characters: Sean Wallace, played by Joe Cole, and Ed Dumani, played by Lucian Msamati. The hallmark of good television sometimes lies in its ability to kill off fan-favorite or strong characters and survive, and both deaths were certainly a surprise. “The challenge is the same challenge we have every season: to keep delivering more surprises for the audience, and we still have an embarrassment of riches in the cast, obviously, with those that survived,” laughs series producer Hugh Warren when he tells Variety.

It's no secret that James Spader will reprise his role as Ultron in the upcoming Vision TV series. However, the circumstances surrounding the villain's return have been a mystery. Until now, perhaps.
In recent weeks, scooper Daniel Richtman has shared several Vision scoops (many of which were soon confirmed by the trades). Now, he's revealed how the WandaVision follow-up begins.
It's said that Vision travels to Madripoor in search of his memories and humanity, only to encounter Ultron in human form. The story unfolds from there, but what does this tell us about where this series is going? Based on this and other recent revelations, we can make some assumptions.
If Vision encounters a "human" Ultron, it's safe to say that he has found a way to survive the events of Avengers: Age of Ultron and has managed to create a new body for himself and the various other AIs created by Tony Stark.

“The challenge is the same challenge we have every season: to keep delivering more surprises for the audience, and we still have an embarrassment of riches in the cast, obviously, with those that survived,” laughs producer Hugh Warren.
“We have some great things in mind, because we don’t want to disappoint people. I think it’s really important for the audience to understand that, by killing these lead characters, there’s no predicting what happens next.”
That included Sean Wallace, played by Joe Cole, and Ed Dumani (Lucian Msamati).

Very little is known about what Marvel Studios has planned for its upcoming Vision TV series. However, we have good reason to believe it will revolve around the former Avenger encountering "human" versions of the McU's AIs.
We have no clue how that happens; the show may take place in the android's mind, or we could see him build them all human-like bodies. Either way, it's an intriguing premise.
Further complicating matters, of course, is that we don't exactly know what this White Vision is after he lost the Mind Stone and had his memories restored by the Hex Vision. Fans have long theorised that Vision didn't really kill Ultron at the end of 2015's Avengers: Age of Ultron, so he may also be orchestrating this whole thing.
Scooper Daniel Richtman has proven himself a reliable source for Vision intel, and he's just shared a big update on plans for the WandaVision follow-up.

Meet T'Nia Miller, a mesmerizing British actress known for her roles in The Haunting of Bly Manor (Hannah Grose), The Fall of the House of Usher (Victorine Lafourcade), or most notably as the mercurial Simone Thearle in the Sky / AMC drama Gangs of London. Now, she joins the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Miller has been cast in what might be her most substantial role yet, appearing in Marvel's upcoming Vision series for Disney Plus (which currently has the working title of Vision Quest). She will be bookended by Paul Bettany, returning as Vision, and back by much popular demand is James Spader, as Ultron. That's important because she is playing Jocasta Pym, the character who in the comics is the wife... mother... and daughter of the murderous android.
Yes, she is all three. Not split personality. More like a Trinitarian being. It's complicated.
Explaining Jocasta's strange origins in Marvel Comics Marvel's Avengers: Age Of Ultron.

Another key WandaVision character will reportedly appear in Vision Quest. According to trusted scooper Daniel Richtman, after a four-year absence, Tommy Maximoff is set to make his grand return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe in the upcoming Disney+ series.
Per ComicBookMovie, Richtman is reporting that actor Ruaridh Mollica, who was cast as the character Tucker back in February, will actually be playing Tommy Maximoff in Vision Quest (which is the working title for the Vision-centric series). "In Agatha All Along, Billy’s soul is shown to inhabit the body of William Kaplan, a teenager who tragically dies in a car accident shortly after his bar mitzvah. Similarly, Tommy’s soul will inhabit the body of Tucker, with his true origins as a Maximoff being revealed as the series unfolds," revealed the scooper. Back in February, the trades reported that Marvel Studios' planned Vision series added another new cast member, leading to speculation that the Marvel Cinematic Universe may have found its Tommy Maximoff, aka Speed.
You may recall which actor we're referring to, but it sounds like this is something Marvel will attempt to keep under wraps, so beware of spoilers from this point on.
According to Daniel Richtman, The Franchise and Too Rough actor Ruaridh Mollica's character, Tucker, will indeed turn out to be Tommy Maximoff.
Agatha All Along introduced Billy Maximoff's (Joe Locke), who set off to locate his brother alongside "Ghost Agatha" (Kathryn Hahn) in the season finale.

Schitt’s Creek star Emily Hampshire has been cast in Marvel’s upcoming Vision series. She is set to play a key role in the Disney+ show alongside Paul Bettany, who reprises his role from WandaVision.
Emily Hampshire is known for playing Stevie Budd in Schitt’s Creek, but she has also starred in Chapelwaithe and more recently Prime’s thriller The Rig.
According to Deadline, Hampshire is set to play E.D.I.T.H., Tony Stark’s augmented reality security and defense system. This system was created by Stark and given to Peter Parker after his death as it offered access to global satellites and an arsenal of drones and missiles.
Hampshire will star alongside James Spader, who is set to reprise his role as Ultron, and Faran Tahir, who is returning as Raza after almost two decades. Newcomers to the MCU include T’Nia Miller, who has been confirmed to...

The Vision series is starting to take shape as it has added a fan-favorite actor from Schitt's Creek to its main cast. This won't just be any role, but will be stepping into a previously established MCU character introduced in Spider-Man: Far From Home, who has not been seen in the franchise since 2019. Vision, under the working title Vision Quest, is aiming for a Disney+ debut in 2026 before the new release date for Avengers: Doomsday. It makes sense that the series would try to bring back and potentially wrap up long-dangling plot threads from the McU's history.
Deadline reports that Emily Hampshire, best known for playing Stevie on the critically acclaimed Schitt's Creek, will play E.D.I.T.H. in the upcoming Vision series. E.D.I.T.H. is an artificial intelligence security system designed by Tony Stark and given to Peter Parker in Spider-Man: Far From Home.

At this point, it seems clear that Marvel Television's Vision starring Paul Bettany series is assembling a line-up of former AI defence systems in human form - but for what reason remains to be seen.

Another artificial intelligence is now confirmed to appear in the untitled Vision series. The upcoming Disney+ series will see the return of E.D.I.T.H. to the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Variety has confirmed Daniel Richtman's casting scoop on Schitt's Creek star Emily Hampshire joining the cast of Vision Quest, which is the working title for the miniseries centered around Paul Bettany's fan-favorite android. Hampshire will be playing E.D.I.T.H. in Vision Quest, although it's unclear at this time whether it will be a voice-only role or if she will be embodying the AI as well. E.D.I.T.H. was previously voiced by Dawn Michelle King, an assistant editor on many MCU films, in 2019's Spider-Man: Far From Home.
Introduced in Far From Home, E.D.I.T.H., which stands for "Even Dead, I’m The Hero," was gifted to Peter Parker by the late Tony Stark.

After having a blast with Marvel‘s Thunderbolts* and counting the days until The Fantastic Four: First Steps lands in theaters on July 25, 2025, Marvel Studios is ready to reveal that an actor from one of my favorite sitcoms, Schitt’s Creek, will play E.D.I.T.H. in the upcoming Disney+ series Vision. Schitt’s Creek alumna Emily Hampshire is set for a key role in Marvel’s Vision series for Disney+ opposite Paul Bettany who is reprising his titular MCU character in the WandaVision spinoff, sources tell Deadline.
Hampshire is believed to be playing the sophisticated artificial intelligence E.D.I.T.H., Tony Stark’s augmented reality security and defense system. In the MCU, E.D.I.T.H. was originally created by Stark and bequeathed to Peter Parker following Stark’s death. It provides access to Stark Industries’ global satellite network along with an arsenal of missiles and drones.
A rep for Marvel declined comment.
Vision‘s cast also includes James Spader, who reprises his MCU role as Ultron, T’Nia Miller as Jocasta, Todd Stashwick and Ruaridh Mollica. Additionally, Faran Tahir is reprising his MCU role of Raza.
This is the second WandaVision spinoff, following Agatha All Along.

Last week, a fan claimed that he managed to sneak onto the set of Avengers: Doomsday, and was able to share some of the footage he filmed online before it was removed from the various social media sites.
The brief clips didn't feature anything particularly revealing, but did seem to confirm that we'll be paying a visit to Madripoor - the fictional Southeast Asian island commonly associated with Wolverine and the X-Men - at some point in the movie.
However, reports would later cast doubt on this anonymous set spy's claims, and we may now know why.

The WandaVision sequel series Vision Quest has received several new casting rumors, which make the series sound similar to a recent Iron Man comic book storyline. Vision Quest follows White Vision, the revived version of the former Avenger hero who flew away at the end of the first MCU Disney+ series to find his place in the world. Paul Bettany returns as Vision and isn't the only robot returning for the upcoming series.
Entertainment insider Daniel Richtman has introduced several casting rumors for Vision Quest. He has reported that Emily Hampshire signed on to portray the Tony Stark AI from Spider-Man: Far From Home, Edith, in human form. He also reported that Kerry Condon signed on to star as the human form of Friday, Tony Stark's AI in the MCU films.
Earlier casting rumors revealed that James Spader is also coming back as Ultron, despite seemingly dying in Avengers: Age of Ultron.

After WandaVision, Paul Bettany will return for the upcoming Marvel Cinematic Universe series Vision Quest. Among his co-stars is Star Trek: Picard actor Todd Stashwick.
When Stashwick's casting was first announced, it was reported that he'd be playing an "assassin who is on the trail of the android and the technology he possesses." A character name was not disclosed, leaving it unclear if he'd be playing an existing character from Marvel lore, or an original role created for the show. However, a new report by film industry insider Daniel Richtman claims that Stashwick will be playing the character Paladin. As Marvel Studios' Vision series - which may or may not turn out to be titled "Vision Quest" - continues to round out its cast, we have a very interesting update relating to Tony Stark's former AI assistant.
According to Daniel Richtman, Kerry Condon will appear as F.R.I.D.A.Y. in human form. This isn't the first time the Academy Award-nominated The Banshees of Inisherin star has been mentioned in connection with the Vision show, but we weren't sure if she'd actually appear in live-action or simply add her voice to the character.
Condon voiced Tony's second AI after J.A.R.V.I.S. (Paul Bettany) was transformed into Vision. We have also heard that James D'Arcy will return as Edwin Jarvis in some capacity.
How these characters will factor into the show remains to be seen.

Who is the Avengers' signature villain? Thanks to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, most would say the Mad Titan Thanos, or maybe the Norse God of Mischief, Loki. But in the original Marvel comics, the team's greatest foe is definitely the android Ultron. Created by the Avengers' own Hank Pym/Ant-Man, Ultron's rage and destructiveness are limitless, and he keeps returning again and again like a bad penny. (If a bad penny could wipe out whole countries...)
Ultron (James Spader) was the villain of the second "Avengers" film, naturally titled "Age of Ultron." That age proved to be short-lived as Ultron seemingly perished, destroyed by his own "synthezoid" creation, the Vision (Paul Bettany). But the MCU Ultron seems to have inherited the original's knack for resurrection. The Vision is getting his own Disney+ show (reportedly titled "Vision Quest"), which will feature Spader back as Ultron. Who better to challenge "Vis" than his dear ol' dad?...

That age proved to be short-lived as Ultron seemingly perished, destroyed by his own "synthezoid" creation, the Vision (Paul Bettany). But the MCU Ultron seems to have inherited the original's knack for resurrection. The Vision is getting his own Disney+ show (reportedly titled "Vision Quest"), which will feature Spader back as Ultron. Who better to challenge "Vis" than his dear ol' dad?...

Marvel Television's Vision/Vision Quest TV series will pick up where WandaVision left off, but the project, overseen by showrunner Terry Matalas, is shaping up to be unlike anything we expected.
"Human" versions of several MCU androids and AIs have been cast, and according to insider Daniel Richtman, Emily Hampshire will play the physical manifestation of E.D.I.T.H. He broke the news that T'Nia Miller will play Vision's Jocasta yesterday, with the trades confirming it a few hours later, so you shouldn't dismiss this rumour.
Dawn Michelle King voiced E.D.I.T.H. in 2019's Spider-Man: Far From Home. However, she's not an on-screen actress and is best known for her work as an editor on movies like Ant-Man, Spider-Man: Homecoming, and Mortal Kombat. It makes sense, then, for the role to be recast.
Hampshire worked with Matalas on 12 Monkeys and is also known...

Vision Quest, the upcoming Disney+ series based on Paul Bettany's MCU character Vision, has seemingly found its female lead in T'Nia Miller. The showwill be the third chapter in a story that began with WandaVision and continued with Agatha All Along. The series is overseen by Star Trek: Picard's Terry Matalas and sees the return of Bettany as Vision, alongside James Spader reprising his role as Ultron.
Deadline reports that T'Nia Miller, best known for her work on The Haunting of Bly Manor and The Fall of the House of Usher, has joined the cast of Marvel Television's upcoming Vision series. The trade outlet claims that she will play Jocasta, an AI created by Ultron, but Marvel has yet to confirm the character or Miller's involvement. Miller's Jocasta is described as cunning, powerful, and motivated by revenge, but it is not clear who she seeks revenge against.

Although it’s been in the works for years now, Marvel’s Vision Quest series just took a major step forward. Deadline reports that T’nia Miller, best known for her role in the Netflix original series The Fall of the House of Usher, has joined the cast of Paul Bettany’s Disney+ series. She is rumored to be playing Jacosta, a sentient android built by Ultron to be his bride, who eventually turns on him and sides with the Avengers. While this has yet to be confirmed, it would line up with last year’s reports that James Spader would reprise his role as Ultron in the show. The series will be set post-WandaVision, and although it's currently in production in London, it's unclear when it will be released on Disney+.
