Diagnosed with bipolar disorder, he committed suicide at a Southern California psychiatric hospital on July 31, 2008. Reported missing at the Aurora Las Encinas Hospital in Pasadena which is associated with radio and TV, he was found hanging the following morning in an old shed on the hospital campus. The upscale hospital received unwanted attention in 2008 because of three adult patient deaths and the rape of a juvenile female patient at the facility within a five month period.
