Akiko Kikuchi

Trailer for "Morisaki Shoten no Hibi" starring Akiko Kikuchi
I don’t think this one has been covered much, so here’s another entry from the “better late than never” file. Early this month, a trailer was added to the official website for Asako Hyuga‘s Morisaki Shoten no Hibi (lit. Morisaki bookstore days).

The film marks the first starring movie role for former model Akiko Kikuchi, whose managed to gain quite a bit of popularity amongst young women through numerous television appearances in commercials and dramas.

Plot: Disappointed by the news that the object of her affection is getting married, Takako (Kikuchi) quits her job suddenly. She soon receives an offer from her uncle Satoru, who asks for her to come help run his bookstore in Jimbocho; a town in Japan with an exceedingly high concentration of book stores, publishing companies, and distribution warehouses. Thus begins her everyday life at Morisaki Bookstore, where she absorbs the unique atmosphere and meets various quirky customers.
