At the European Film Market is a promotional photo for the upcoming "Hands of Stone" biopic, based on the life of boxer Roberto Duran, who will be played by Edgar Ramirez. Robert De Niro co-stars as his trainer Ray Arcel. Check out the photo below. Roberto Duran made his boxing debut in 1968 at the age of 16. He went on to win 103 of 119 matches against such top-tier talent as Sugar Ray Leonard, Thomas Hearns, Marvin Hagler, Hector Camacho and Vinny Pazienza. In 1980, he defeated Sugar Ray Leonard to capture the Wbc welterweight title, but shocked the boxing world by returning for a rematch, in which he called out "No mas!" in order to quit the fight prematurely. Last week, Steve was at the European Film Market (Efm) in Berlin and picked up some promo images and art from upcoming films. Among them was Jonathan Jakubowicz's boxing biopic Hands of Stone. The film stars Edgar Ramirez (Carlos) as Panamanian boxer Roberto Duran, who won 103 of 119 contests against such top-tier talent such as Sugar Ray Leonard, Thomas Hearns, Marvin Hagler, Hector Camacho and Vinny Pazienza. Duran might be most remembered for the infamous fight against Leonard in which Duran called out, “No mas!” in order to quit the fight prematurely. The film centers on Roberto Durán and his trainer Ray Arcel. The boxer competed during the sports Golden Era, when he was one of the top contenders alongside Sugar Ray Leonard, Thomas Hearns, Marvelous Marvin Hagler, Hector Camacho and Vinny Pazienza. The legend defeated them all with a record of 103 out of 119 fights. The story will focus on the boxer's bout with Sugar Ray Leonard and the stunning ending that forced him to surrender.
