Can You Survive The ‘Traumatika’ Trailer?
Image
“This is not a movie you see. This is a movie you survive! You have been warned!“

So claims the tagline for Traumatika, the sophomore feature from director Pierre Tsigaridis (Two Witches). Based on the trailer below, released today by Saban Films, I’m inclined to believe it.

Written by Tsigaridis and Maxime Rancon, Traumatika follows “A young boy (whose) night terrors become reality when his mother begins showing signs of demonic possession. What he’s about to experience will haunt him for the rest of his life and claim countless lives across generations.”

Check out the trailer below:

Dear reader, I have chills from watching this trailer. I’m about as seasoned a horror fan as it gets, and I have to admit, this film appears truly nightmarish. Especially considering the fact that it all seems to be from the point of view of a small child experiencing the...

“It Was Not Expected": 'The Lincoln Lawyer's Andrea Freeman Exit Addressed by Yaya DaCosta
Image
Good shows have a way of setting you up to consistently want more. Netflix's hit legal drama, The Lincoln Lawyer, is consistent with that and its third season finale did exactly that. Cruising down the streets of Los Angeles with the wind in his face, Mickey Haller (Manuel Garcia-Rulfo) is celebrating victory in yet another tough case, and this time he intends to take a vacation. But when a police officer pulls him over for a missing license plate, the body of his client Sam Scales (Christopher Thornton) is found in the trunk. Season 4 has already begun filming in Los Angeles in February and the sixth book in Michael Connelly's Lincoln Lawyer series, The Law of Innocence, will be adapted. However, there is one character who might not return for Season 4.

Yaya DaCosta was introduced in Season 2, in which she played fierce criminal prosecutor Andrea Freeman. After adversarial...

Frightfest 2024: ‘Traumatika’ Review
Image
Stars: Susan Gayle-Watts, Ranen Navat, Aj Bowen, Sean O’Bryan, Emily Goss, Rebekah Kennedy | Written and Directed by Pierre Tsigaridis

From the off, Pierre Tsigaridis’ sophomore film, Traumatika, promises its audience an exploration of the various sub-types of childhood trauma, focusing on emotional, physical, and sexual abuse alongside a gratuitous amount of violence.

The story is told non-linearly, starting in present-day L.A. We are introduced to Jennifer Novac’s (Susan Gayle-Watts) highly exploitative – verging on evil – true crime show intent on exploring a spate of child murders that occurred in 2003 in Pasadena, California. But, before we get there, the audience is transported back further in time to the Sinai Peninsula, Egypt, when a lone wanderer buries a mysterious artefact only to then commit suicide after being plagued by visions of his child’s death at the hands of the demon Volpaazu.

93 years later, and we shift to a young Mikey’s (Ranen Navat) bedroom.

Traumatika (2024) Review
Image
Traumatika is the latest film from Pierre Tsigaridis and Maxime Rancon, the creators of 2021’s well received Two Witches. Its premiere at this years FrightFest has garnered a good buzz, especially with what the creators have done before so it is with much anticipation that this film arrives.

The trauma that is indicated in the film’s title is the beating heart of this horrific tale of possession and murder. The drama unfolds over multiple timelines and is a thrilling watch, with a decent amount of unsettling tension throughout the movie’s duration.

The film begins, after a bit of important backstory, with the ordeal of a young boy named Mikey, who is in the thrall of his demonically possessed mother. This leads into a whole host of murder, mayhem and unravelling secrets as the film moves on at a rapid pace. This fast pace amplifies the traumatic horror tremendously,...

Mysterious Sci-Fi Horror Film 'The Veil' Trailer with Rebekah Kennedy
Image
"Hope I didn't wake the others..." "The others...?? There's nobody around for acres..." FilmFrontier Studios has unveiled an official festival trailer for an indie film titled The Veil, now playing on the festival circuit. Written & directed & produced by Cameron Beyl, this just premiered in his hometown of Portland at the H.P. Lovecraft Film Festival earlier this month. Not to be confused with the 2016 horror film The Veil with Jessica Alba, or the 2021 Korean spy thriller series The Veil, this one is something else. Redemption gives way to a reckoning when a reclusive retired priest shelters a young Amish runaway in crisis, only to uncover a mystery that ties her presence to a terrifying encounter from his youth– and the bright aurora borealis that rages overhead. The little indie film stars Sean O'Bryan and Rebekah Kennedy. A "genre bending cosmic horror" that definitely seems like a good fit for the H.

‘Two Witches’ Blu-ray Review (Arrow Video)
Image
Stars: Belle Adams, Ian Michaels, Tim Fox, Dina Silva, Rebekah Kennedy, Kristina Klebe | Written by Pierre Tsigaridis, Kristina Klebe, Maxim Rancon | Directed by Pierre Tsigaridis

Two Witches, the first feature from Pierre Tsigaridis features a pair of somewhat connected tales of modern day witchcraft. These aren’t the witches of Hocus Pocus or Sabrina though, these are the evil, baby eating witches of legend and of films like Suspiria. Something the brief prologue makes quite clear.

The first of Two Witches’ chapters “The Boogeywoman” begins with the pregnant Sarah out to dinner with her partner Simon (Ian Michaels; Easy Targets) when she sees a white eyed old crone staring at her through the restaurant window. She begins having hallucinations and experiencing strange phenomena which she blames on the woman.

Simon, who is skeptical and blames it on hormones, takes her to see his friend Dustin.and his girlfriend Melissa (Dina...

Review: Two Witches is an Interesting, but Uneven Pair of Stories
Image
Happy October, witches!!!!! Time for stories of ghosts, ghouls, creepy crawlies, and scary women who have made pacts with the devil. To celebrate, Arrow Films is releasing the first feature from writer-director Pierre Tsigaridis - Two Witches.

The film is a pair of loosely connected stories - sort of a mini-anthology. The connecting tissue is the passing of dark powers from one aging woman to her young granddaughter. The older woman governs the events of the first story, while the younger witch takes the mantle and starts wreaking havoc in the second.

The film opens with a young couple trying to enjoy a night out. Sarah (Belle Adams) has recently discovered that she is pregnant. Her partner Simon (Ian Michaels), though enthused, is not the most sensitive person in the world, and honestly, is kind of more than any pregnant woman should have to deal with. Not long into the meal,...

‘Two Witches’ Clip Casts an Absolutely Brutal Spell [Exclusive]
Pierre Tsigaridis
Witches don’t die before leaving their legacy.

Bloody Disgusting has an exclusive look at a clip from Two Witches, the feature debut from Pierre Tsigaridis that’s now on Arrow and will be on Blu-ray and DVD on October 17th.

In the film, a matriarchal witch passes on her sinister inheritance to her granddaughter, triggering horrific curses.

“A delirious mix of Rosemary’s Baby, Hereditary and Drag Me to Hell – the film features two witch stories interlinked by the incredible Rebekah Kennedy (To the Bone), here the spitting image of genre icon Lynn Lowry, a troubled woman with a dark secret. Also starring Kristina Klebe (Halloween), Tim Fox (Westworld) and Belle Adams (Perry Mason), the film’s a wild ride of ouija boards, witches and very weird roommates.”

The film held its international premiere at the Sitges Film Festival and also played Salem Horror Fest.

Limbo (1999)
Official Trailer for Horror Drama 'Limbo' - A Murderer on Trial in Hell
Limbo (1999)
"There is no way that this low life's getting into Heaven whilst I'm stuck here." Uncork'd Ent. has released an official trailer for an indie horror comedy called Limbo, the latest from indie filmmaker Mark Young. The high concept, low budget film is about a murderer who dies and finds himself on trial in Hell, caught between a bitter prosecutor and an inexperienced defense attorney. The entire setup is based around being in "limbo" with a colorful cast of characters. James Purefoy stars a Lucifer, with Lucian Charles Collier as Balthazar, plus Veronica Cartwright, Rebekah Kennedy, Scottie Thompson, Peter Jacobson, Lauryn Canny, Richard Riehle, and Lew Temple. This look that bad, but doesn't look that good either. Here's the first official trailer (+ new poster) for Mark Young's Limbo, direct from YouTube: A murderer named Jimmy (Lew Temple) finds himself on trial in Hell, caught between a bitter prosecutor and an inexperienced defense attorney.

James Pickens Jr., Ellen Pompeo, and Chandra Wilson in Grey's Anatomy (2005)
Grey's Anatomy Favorites in Danger in New Station 19 Trailer
James Pickens Jr., Ellen Pompeo, and Chandra Wilson in Grey's Anatomy (2005)
Grey's Anatomy may have wrapped up its sixteenth season early, but spin-off series Station 19 is still chugging along.

The two shows, however, share a universe, meaning that Grey's Anatomy characters work with people from Station 19, and vice-versa.

ABC has dropped a new trailer for Station 19 Season 3 Episode 15, and it shows an armed woman causing trouble after an incident.

In a twist of fate, Jackson Avery (Jesse Williams) is in the ambulance trying to operate on a patient, and Ben (Jason George) is also present.

As the clip plays out, gunshots ring out at the conclusion, while Bailey is seen in Grey Sloan Memorial realizing that something is amiss.

Perhaps it's because the ambulance doesn't show up when it should.

If you watch Grey's Anatomy online, you know Bailey has suffered a lot of heartache of late, so killing off her husband would be cruel.

Heck, even killing Jackson would be cruel.

Short Film, Short Review: Amy
At a residence Mary is caring for many sick and ailing guests, including the young Amy. Delivering refreshments to relieve her guests during the Summer heat Mary warns Amy not to venture from her room at night lest she disturb the other guests. Wracked with pain Amy ignores the warning and leaves her room and discovers that her host has been keeping a dark and deadly secret from her guests. L Gustavo Cooper’s Amy is an exercise in style and mood and I found many things to like within it. I like the setting and the lighting. The ambient sound and music are rich. Rebekah Kennedy delivers a painful and tortured performance as Amy. Her physical performance is great. The way she rolls over...
