Exclusive: Stephen Dorff (Blade) is set to star opposite Terry Chen (Almost Famous), Fei Ren (The Terror) and Wern Lee (Voyagers) in Slant, a new crime thriller from director Chester Sit that’s wrapped production and is being presented to buyers at Cannes.

Slant follows an Asian teenager (Lee) who discovers his father was a legendary Triad enforcer. As he seeks his inheritance in a criminal underworld ruled by the ruthless Mo (Chen), he must choose between power, his soul, and his childhood mentor-turned-rival, Sid (Dorff). Set against a backdrop of violence and shifting loyalties, Slant dives deep into the savage — and at times surreal — world of organized crime.

Mark Kandborg penned the script. Keli Price is producing for Price Productions, alongside Richard Greenhalgh and Michael Olsen, with Evan Tylor and Caterina Scrivano of IndustryWorks Studios exec producing. Price negotiated Dorff’s deal, with IndustryWorks set to handle worldwide distribution and sales for the film.

Exclusive: Mena Suvari (American Beauty), Jeffrey Donovan (Sicario), and Cam Gigandet (Twilight) are set to star opposite James C. Clayton (Bullet Proof) in Briefcase, 8, a new neo-noir action film which Clayton is directing.

Set in a city where the rain never stops and the truth is buried in alleyways, Briefcase, 8 follows 8, a weary hitman who takes one last job from his ruthless boss (Donovan) to escape with the woman he loves (Suvari). But as blood spills over a mysterious briefcase, he must outwit his enemies (Gigandet) and uncover the truth to survive.

Production is underway in Winnipeg, Manitoba and Kamloops, British Columbia, with Marc Petey and Jonnie Broi producing. Exec producers include Evan Tylor and Caterina Scrivano of IndustryWorks Studios, which is handling worldwide distribution and sales for the film, as well as Keli Price of Price Productions, who negotiated talent deals on behalf of the production.

Nyle Cavazos Garcia directs the story about a struggling family who move into an apartment and find their hopes of a fresh start are upended by a terrifying colony of feral cats. Anna Clols has also joined the cast, which includes Jake Busey, and Lorelei Linklater.

Keli Price is producing through his Price Productions alongside Garcia through Small Town Pictures, while Javier C. Ortiz and Amado DeHoyos are executive producers.

The indie horror thriller with comedic elements follows as “a struggling family’s fresh start in a run-down apartment building turns into a fight for survival as a horde of feral cats unleashes terror, revealing the dark and deadly horrors lurking within its walls.”

It also happens to be set over Christmas Eve.

Exclusive: Ted and Seinfeld actor Patrick Warburton is to co-host the pilot for a movie props docuseries from Tom Biolchini and Juan Pablo Reinoso.

The actor has signed on after producer Keli Price of Price Productions negotiated a deal with Gersh, Warburton’s agents. Shooting is se to take place in the UK and other parts of the world.

The series, which is being independently funded and doesn’t yet have a network or streamer attached, is inspired by a feature doc of the same name from director Reinoso and Biolchini, who will co-host the show with Warburton. Reinoso is directing the pilot.

The series is centered around the multi-day auction at Propstore of London, an annual event in which thousands of TV and film props are put up for sale. Warburton and Biolchini will travel to meet collectors on their journeys to sell or buy particular on-screen memorabilia.

Saw star Tobin Bell teams with Machete’s Danny Trejo in the trailer for the slasher movie The Curse of Wolf Mountain. Bell debuted as famed horror villain Jigsaw way back in 2004’s original torture porn classic Saw, going on to reprise the role seven times, with an eighth appearance set to happen later this year in Saw X. Trejo in the meantime has become an overall genre movie icon thanks to decades of roles in fare ranging from Desperado to Anaconda to Con Air to, of course, 2010’s grind house tribute Machete and its sequel Machete Kills.

Despite both having been around for so many years, Saw X star Bell and Machete icon Trejo had surprisingly never appeared together in a movie, but now that has been remedied thanks to the low-budget slasher The Curse of Wolf Mountain, which just dropped a new trailer (via IGN).

Exclusive: Saban Films has taken worldwide rights to action-thriller Hellfire, starring Stephen Lang, Harvey Keitel and Dolph Lundgren here at the European Film Market.

The title, which is directed by Isaac Florentine and written by Richard Lowry, follows a drifter (Lang) with a mysterious past who arrives in a small town and finds the residents in the grip of a ruthless crime boss and realizes he has to help them.

Currently in post-production, Hellfire is produced by Sasha Yelaun, Robert Paschall Jr, Daniel Lief, and Johnny Remo. It’s executive produced by Dominic Burns, Rob Simmons, Ante Novakovic, Jeff Miller, Ronnie D. Lee, Sterling Griffin, Adam Sigal, B.I. Exclusive: Production has officially wrapped production in Arkansas on the upcoming action thriller Hellfire under the seasoned Isaac Florentine directing with a cast that includes Stephen Lang, Harvey Keitel, and Dolph Lundgren. Exclusive: Rob Schneider (The Wrong Missy) has signed on to star alongside Jake T. Austin and Isabella Gomez in the action-comedy Pledge Trip from director Tracy Boyd, which will go into production in November.

The film centers on three college freshmen who, in a pursuit to belong, take off down a twisted, debauched, pride-busting road to brotherhood. Details as to the role Schneider is playing haven’t been disclosed.

The thriller from Citizen Skull Productions tells the story of six trapped locals during a lightning storm at Stonehenge that creates an electrical dome, where survival means fighting off ancient souls trying to take over their bodies.

The film is written by Keli Price, who also stars, and is directed by David Lipper. The story follows Aj (Keli Price), who begins having vivid dreams of his parents’ death. He decides to go back to the spot where they were killed, 20 years ago, accompanied by his brother and his brother’s family. But legend has it there is something mysterious roaming these woods.

Reboot Camp is a spoof documentary. Or a documentary about a spoof. Or a film about a documentary about a spoof. Confused? Not really. Because despite the confusing nature of the set-up, after the first couple of minutes it is pretty clear what is going on. Which is a film and a comedy, in an approximate documentary style, about a spoof.

At its centre are two brothers, Seymour (David Lipper) and Danny (Keli Price). Seymour is upset when his girlfriend runs off to join a cult. So he and Danny decide to set up a sham cult, film the result and thereby expose the falseness that exists at their heart.

Of course, it goes wrong. Under the tutelage of Seymour, now rebranded as Gordon St Pierre, cult leader and guru with a bad French Canadian accent, the group attracts followers.

Then, as followers turn to believers, Seymour is increasingly suckered in.

Abramorama is partnering with Shakey Pictures and Reprise / Warner Records to release the Neil Young documentary “Mountaintop.”

The movie, which chronicles the making of Young and Crazy Horse’s studio album “Colorado,” will open in North America on Oct. 22 and in Europe and South American on Nov. 8. Young produced using his pseudonym Bernard Shakey, marking his 13th collaboration with Abramorama dating back to “Greendale,” and Jonathan Demme’s trilogy.

Abramorama CEO Richard Abramowitz said, ”The only thing better than working on a Bernard Shakey film is working on another Bernard Shakey film. Providing fans around the world with the opportunity to see how Neil and the band put it all together is a particularly rare and exciting experience.

Newcomers Jahbril Cook, Kat Conner Sterling, and Iain Tucker will co-star as filming is currently underway in Tennesse with a theatrical release aimed for 2020. AwesomenessTV is making the jump from digital screens to television screens. Again. The multi-channel network’s hit musical web series Side Effects will make its TV debut as a 90-minute feature film on E! on April 17, 2015.

Originally released as a long-form series on AwesomenessTV’s channel in October 2013, Side Effects tells the story of 16-year-old Whitney, who experiences musical hallucinations from the medication she’s taking to deal with the loss of her mother and the disappearance of her father. The series was a hit in its original online release and garnered over two million views in its first week on YouTube.
