The Weirdest Dracula Movie Ever Made Was a Sequel to Bonnie and Clyde
Image
Dracula will be revived in Dracula: A Love Tale, adding to a long list of vampire films. Bonnie & Clyde vs. Dracula is as bizarre as it sounds, featuring an unexpected mash-up. The movie fails to deliver on its promise of a Dracula vs. Bonnie and Clyde showdown, falling short of expectations.

With nearly 100 years of cinematic immortality, Dracula remains one of the most beloved horror movie vampires on record. In February 2024, acclaimed French filmmaker Luc Besson announced plans to revive the dashing bloodsucker in Dracula: A Love Tale, adding to a roster of over 100 feature films featuring the fiendish foe. As A Love Tale develops, it's worth steering horror fans to arguably the most bizarre movie mash-up, pitting Dracula against two of the most unlikely cinematic criminals.

Written and directed by Timothy Friend, Bonnie & Clyde vs. Dracula is precisely as weird and wonderful as it sounds. The movie concerns notorious...

Bonnie & Clyde vs. Dracula (2008)
Directed by: Timothy Friend

Written by: Timothy Friend

Cast: Tiffany Shepis, Trent Haaga, Allen Lowman, Jennifer Friend, Russell Friend

The annals of horror cinema are littered with numerous unlikely encounters. Over the years, Billy the Kid has met Dracula, Jesse James has met Frankenstein's daughter, and Abbott & Costello have met, well, pretty much everyone.

Bonnie & Clyde vs. Dracula is the latest in this continuing series of improbable historic meetings and comes to us courtesy of writer/director Timothy Friend. Sadly, it's as disappointing as it is far-fetched.

Not that there's anything wrong with far-fetched, mind you. This is B-movie horror — the more far-fetched, the better. A flick like this doesn't have to be believable; it just has to deliver on its super-sensational title in an engaging way. And Bonnie & Clyde vs. Dracula doesn't do that.

Friend has conceived a film with two concurrent storylines, neither of which ever really takes off.

DVD Review: ‘Bonnie & Clyde vs. Dracula’ Misses Chance at B-Movie Fun
Chicago – B-movie and horror fans (like yours truly) have to perk up when they hear a title like “Bonnie & Clyde vs. Dracula,” recently released on DVD (and even more when they see that awesome cover below). It’s too clever a concept not to be fun, right? Sadly, no. Despite a strong performance from one of the title characters, the movie doesn’t live up to its promise at all. It’s the last thing that a B-movie with such an intentionally ludicrous title should be — boring.

DVD Rating: 2.0/5.0

If you really think about it — the legends of Bonnie & Clyde and Dracula are both soaked in blood. So, they may not be as far as apart as one first assumes. And they are both sexually-driven icons with the passion of Bonnie & Clyde feeling like a good fit for the inherent sexual aspect of the bloodsucker. So a movie about all three characters should be bloody,...

New Release: Bonnie and Clyde vs. Dracula Blu-ray and DVD
Indican Pictures will release the deliciously-titled genre cocktail movie Bonnie and Clyde vs. Dracula on Blu-ray and DVD on April 26.

Okay, you probably have a pretty good idea as to the story of this low-budget indie film written and directed by Timothy Friend, but we’ll give you a plot synopsis, anyway:

Tiffany Shepis means business in Bonnie and Clyde vs. Dracula

After their latest heist goes wrong, legendary outlaw couple Bonnie (Tiffany Shepis, Trade In, Night of the Demons) and Clyde (Trent Haaga, Splatter Disco) find themselves on the run from the law and in need of some fast money. Finding shelter in a small town, they crash at the mansion of the notorious Dr. Loveless (Allen Lowman, Shadow Falls Memorial), where they discover that he has one helluva secret: Deep in his cellar the recently revived Dracula (Russell Friend) awaits…and when gangsters meet vampires, there’s bloody hell to pay!

What the Heck Type of Freak Show Is This? Bonnie and Clyde vs. Dracula
Having already done the festival rounds and picked up several awards along the way, action/horror mash-up Bonnie and Clyde vs. Dracula is ready hit screens big and small. If I'd only read the film description, I'm not sure how interested I'd be, but this preview roped me right in. Writer/Director Timothy Friend (Cadaverella) throws us back to the 1930s, where the infamous duo get themselves mixed up with a force even worse than the police. After a bank robbery goes bad, Bonnie (Tiffany Shepis, Tromeo and Juliet, The Violent Kind) and Clyde (Trent Haaga, Suburban Nightmare, Gimme Skelter) seek refuge at the home of Dr. Loveless (Allen Lowman, Ride with the Devil), but something strange and unexpected lurks in the basement. Here's the kickass trailer:

The only thing missing is Olyphantypants.

Bonnie and Clyde vs Dracula also stars T Max Graham (Eraserhead, Ride with the Devil), theater actress,...

Bonnie and Clyde vs Dracula and Forgetting a Key Fanged Character: A Movie Review
Director/writer: Timothy Friend.

When vampires start to become involved in the pulp world of the 30’s, with some good ol’ gangbuster action, there are only a few good choices producers can make to represent an era. Here, Bonnie and Clyde vs. Dracula provides the formula. In the solution, what the film delivers is an oddball mix of character development and weird science.

The idea seems sound. The gangster couple's exploits stirred the public imagination in a time that's been polarized as highly criminal. Certain gangsters ran amok. To include the undead implies that the influence of the mafia is indeed eternal. No matter how hard the law tries, they cannot be put down.

For most of the film, Bonnie (Tiffany Shepis) and Clyde (Trent Haaga) are simply hiding out from the law. In the shack they are in, they are slowly just learning about what's happening nearby. They don't...

Review: Candy Apple Red
Todd Norris certainly grabs the audiences attention in his new short film Candy Apple Red.

Emily (Sharon Wright) is a photographer with a keen eye, and a shy attitude. Her boyfriend Allen (Allen Lowman) seems to control their failing relationship and knocks Emily down, rather than building up her confidence. In other words, Allen is a dick! But then, Emily’s world gets turned upside-down when she meets Lisa (Lisa Marie Evans), a massage therapist. Lisa is definitelly the opposite of Emily: Outgoing, Confident, and Sexual. Emily must have seen something in her, because she agrees to take photos of Lisa… and things really change pace. Lisa awakens something in Emily that has been laying dormant, and opens the gates to a sexual awakening.

I have to say, this was one steamy short. Sharon Wright plays both the docile, shy woman and the sexually awakened siren with great ease. Her versatility is rather impressive!

Update and First Look at the Trailer for Shadow Falls Memorial
This past summer filmmaker Kendal Sinn first unveiled the details of his Shadow Falls Memorial feature film, and today he provided Dread Central with an update and a first look at the flick's red-band trailer. Read on for more!

Shadow Falls Memorial is ready for its next round of screenings, and the picture is locked. After premiering to a standing ovation at the Fright Night Film Festival in Louisville, Ky, director Kendal Sinn is ready to expand his feature film across the world. As Sinn says, "It's getting close to Halloween, so it seems like a good time to unleash this thing!"

Based on the acclaimed web series "Shadow Falls", the film concludes a story Sinn has been working on for over 10 years. As you may recall, the "Shadow Falls" series aired on various websites from 2004 to 2007 and was released on DVD by Elite Entertainment in January of 2007. "I wanted...

Dread Central Presents: Do Not Disturb
We're pleased to announce that Dread Central is home to another new short from writer/director Patrick Rea entitled "Do Not Disturb". In true Rea fashion, the understated, yet extremely prolific, filmmaker describes it as "pretty weird".

But we did learn a bit more about the project. "Do Not Disturb" is a joint venture of SenoReality and Vedros Motion. The producers were Rea, Ryan S. Jones, Nicholas Vedros, and Michael Stine (who also pulled camera/colorist work duty) with Rea's long-time collaborator Josh Robison doing the editing. The cast includes Allen Lowman (Devil's Fork, Bonnie & Clyde vs. Dracula) as Philip.

According to the official synopsis "Do Not Disturb" is a creepy tale about a mysterious man staying in a hotel who is visited by an unseen entity. It's runtime is a brisk 15 minutes.

Kendal Sinn Unveils Shadow Falls Memorial
Our working relationship with writer/director Kendal Sinn and his frequent collaborator Patrick Rea goes back several years, just about to 2001, which is when Sinn first started conceptualizing Shadow Falls, an Internet horror/sci-fi serial about eerie goings-on in a creepy Kansas town. His end goal was to have 36 short films and then finish with a feature. Instead of working on the shorts, however, Sinn jumped ahead to the finale, and thus, we have Shadow Falls Memorial.

Why the change in plans? His first season of short films about “Shadow Falls, Kansas” was a critical and popular hit when it debuted online in 2003, and Season Two was supposed to go up in 2006. But things didn't work out that way, and Sinn decided to end the series to focus on other films. He explains, "I got married [to producer Sally Cummings] and we had a baby, and [while] we were shooting all of these other films,...

Indie Producer Comes to Devil's Fork
Friend of the site and indie producer Jeff Chitty (Bonnie and Clyde Vs. Dracula) dropped us a line yesterday with a heads up about his latest film, The Devil’s Fork, complete with a trailer you can check out below.

The Devil’s Fork follows a couple (Debbie Rochon, pictured, and Allen Lowman) who encounter a strange hitchhiker (Tina Krause) and her even stranger and more dangerous accomplice, Preacher (Jared Cyr) on their way home from a wedding. The drifters put the couple through a series of hellish tests to find out if they are truly survivors.

For now all that’s been shot is the trailer you can see below, but the hope is the trailer will be enough to drum up funds to get a budget in place to shoot the whole film. Keep it here for updates as The Devil's Fork comes to life!

Exclusive promo trailer, comments on Devil’S Fork
Kansas City-based filmmaker Jeff Chitty gave Fango an exclusive look at a promotional trailer he recently shot for his road movie/horror film Devil’S Fork. You can see it below the cut.

The trailer is part of Chitty’s plan to raise financing for the movie, and showcases the cast who have already committed to star in the feature: Allen Lowman from Bonnie And Clyde Vs. Dracula, Fango Radio’s own Debbie Rochon, Bad Biology’s Tina Krause and newcomer Jared Cyr. Lowman and Rochon play a couple driving home from a wedding reception who encounter a strange hitchhiker named Autumn (Krause) and her companion, Preacher (Cyr), resulting in what Chitty calls “a true road trip from hell!”

Originally intended as a short to be included in an on-line series called Heartland Horrors, Devil’S Fork proved to be too graphic for the backers, and Chitty and his co-scripters...
