Muse Soundtrack a Sci-Fi Contagion in ‘Simulation Theory’ Trailer
Image
Muse have announced that they’ll be releasing a new feature-length motion picture, Simulation Theory, in select international IMAX theaters on August 17th and across streaming platforms on August 21st.

Based around their 2018 album of the same name, Simulation Theory is part concert film, part sci-fi fiction narrative. The movie centers on a performance by Muse at London’s O2 Arena filmed in September 2019 by director Lance Drake — who also directed all of the promo videos for the Simulation Theory album. Meanwhile, the storyline follows a team of scientists as...

See Muse Play High School Dance Gone Wrong In New ‘Pressure’ Video
Terry Crews
At an Eighties-style high-school homecoming dance, Muse performs the upbeat “Pressure” – with an upright bass and backing brass groups – before a group of rather bemused-looking teenagers and a chaperone, Terry Crews. When two students ride their bikes into the science lab, things go horribly wrong with a sequence that owes a debt to sci-fi movies like Critters. Things only get stranger from there.

Lance Drake, who directed the group’s “Thought Contagion” and “Dig Down” videos, helmed the clip. The song will feature on the band’s upcoming LP, Simulation Theory,...

Muse Return With Werewolves, Cop Chases in New ‘Something Human’ Video
Muse outrun the cops en route to an intergalactic video store in the clip for their new song, “Something Human.”

The track finds Muse injecting their arena prog rock with bursts of folk. Over the crisp strum of an acoustic guitar and the rousing stomp of a kick drum – both of which are drenched in electronic effects – singer Matt Bellamy belts: “The big picture’s gone/ Replaced with visions of you/ Now life can begin/ I’ve cleansed all my sins/ I’m about to break through.”

Frequent Muse collaborator...

Watch the Vampiric, Neon-Soaked Music Video for Muse’s New Song Thought Contagion
If you read my favorites of 2017 list, then you know I'm head over horror-loving heels for the band Muse. I was thrilled and chilled by their sci-fi-infused 2017 music video for "Dig Down" and their 2016 ode to Elvira with a stylish cover of The Cramps' "New Kind of Kick." Today, Muse unveiled their most horror-themed project yet with their music video for their new song "Thought Contagion," and it's already safe to say that this video should be added to Halloween 2018 playlists.

Bathed in ’80s-esque neon lights, the music video for "Thought Contagion" blends elements of A Nightmare on Elm Street (particularly Dream Warriors), Stranger Things, and Michael Jackson's "Thriller." Fangs, extra long fingernails, and eerie glowing eyes highlight this Lance Drake-directed experience that takes a bite out of ’80s nostalgia while injecting it with a dose of the dystopian futuristic style of "Dig Down."

John Hawkes, Jena Malone, Miles Teller, Augusto Aguilera, Cristina Rodlo, and Nell Tiger Free in Too Old to Die Young (2019)
Director Nicolas Winding Refn’s newly announced crime series has been kept extremely under wraps — until recently. Refn has been sharing behind-the-scenes photos and videos on his personal Twitter account since before production officially started. He’s announced the high-profile talent making up most of the cast, hyping fans and critics for another wild crime drama to take the small screen. As the genre heightens in popularity for TV audiences, the “Drive” director’s pairing with Amazon derives eager speculation as to what this grisly new drama will look like.

The series has been greenlit with a 10-episode straight-to-series order residing at Amazon. “Too Old To Die Young” takes place in the criminal underbelly of Los Angeles, exploring various characters’ “existential journeys from being killers to becoming samurais in the city of angels.” With shooting having just begun, start getting acquainted with the details surrounding this star-studded series.
