Hulu is one of the best places to find the best movies and TV shows you can watch on any streaming service. Every month, it adds hundreds of new titles to its content library. For instance, this month, we are getting the much-anticipated Season 2 of Nine Perfect Strangers and a new original film titled Summer of 69, but with that, some titles have to leave the service for a number of reasons. So, today, we are here to tell you about the best film you should watch before it leaves Hulu in May 2025.

Kandahar (May 16) Credit – Open Road Films

Kandahar is a spy action thriller film directed by Ric Roman Waugh from a screenplay by Mitchell Lafortune. The 2023 film is loosely based on true events, and it follows Tom Harris, a freelance undercover operative working for the CIA with his translator.

Today, AMC Networks’ Acorn TV and Channel 5 announced additional cast members and the start of production on the new murder mystery drama, Murder Before Evensong.

The six-episode drama starring Matthew Lewis is based on the first novel in the Sunday Times best-selling series by British author Reverend Richard Coles and will air later this year on Acorn TV worldwide and Channel 5 in the UK.

Grey's Anatomy star Kevin McKidd might have less screen time in season 21 due to a new BBC series filming in Scotland. Budget cuts at ABC mean Grey's Anatomy season 21 will only have 18 episodes, with some main cast members leaving or reducing their number of appearances. McKidd's character, Owen Hunt, may become more of a supporting character with reduced screen time amid the show's changes.

A recent filming update about a BBC Studios drama movie suggests that one long-time Grey's Anatomy star will have less screen time in the upcoming season 21. The news isn't the first massive change the long-running Shonda Rhimes series has had to navigate in recent years. Scottish actor and director Kevin McKidd has been slated to star in an upcoming feature adaptation of The Primrose Railway Children, based upon the childrens book penned by beloved author Jacqueline Wilson. According to Deadline, McKidd will be playing Rob Robinson. Wilsons book is a modern re-imagining of E Nesbit's classic The Railway Children. The text is being adapted by Cbbc, an offshoot of the BBC that focuses on childrens entertainment. Alongside McKidd, the cast of The Primrose Railway Children also includes Nina Toussaint-White, known for the role of DS Louise Rayburn in Richard Maddens Bodyguard, who is playing Robinsons wife Sarah. Their three children will be played by Ava McCarthy, Ida Brooke, and Tylan Bailey.

The actor Kevin McKidd, known for the TV shows “Grey’s Anatomy” and “Six Four,” will star in a new movie for Cbbc called “The Primrose Railway Children.” Cbbc is the BBC channel for kids. The 90-minute film was written by Tom Bidwell, who’s done other movies like “The Velveteen Rabbit” and “The Irregulars.” It’s based on a book by Jacqueline Wilson that puts a modern spin on the classic story “The Railway Children” by E.N. Nesbit.

They’ll be filming in places around Scotland like Glasgow, the Scottish Highlands, and real heritage railways. The movie follows Phoebe, her big sister Becks, big brother Perry, and their mom. They have to leave their home in Glasgow and move far away to the Scottish countryside. The BBC said it’s about growing up somewhere new when you don’t want to change homes, and trying to fit into a community that seems strange.

Kevin McKidd (Grey’s Anatomy, Six Four) will be starring in the 90-minute Cbbc special The Primrose Railway Children on BBC kids channel Cbbc Adapted by Tom Bidwell (The Velveteen Rabbit, The Irregulars) the feature-length family drama is based on Jacqueline Wilson’s novel of the same name, which is a modern reimagining of E. Long enough it seems, to lead the cast of Shetland series nine and ten.

The BBC has commissioned two further series of the picturesque crime drama starring Jensen in the lead role of Di Calder. Filming on series nine begins in March 2024, with filming on series 10 to follow in 2025. Fans can expect the show to return to BBC One either in late 2024 or early 2025. Exclusive: Joe Dempsie (Game of Thrones) and BAFTA winner Francesca Annis (Flesh & Blood) are among a host of stars boarding season 2 of Ben Richards’ BBC legal drama Showtrial.

Ali is best known for his role of Guddu Pandit in the action crime thriller web series ‘Mirzapur’. Apart from Ali, it also stars Pankaj Tripathi, Shweta Tripathi Shamra, Divyenndu, Vikrant Massey, Shriya Pilgaonkar, Rasika Dugal, Harshita Gaur and Kulbhushan Kharbanda in pivotal roles.

So, where does it say that only the big studio blockbusters can rattle the multiplex over the first big holiday weekend of the Summer cinema season? Certainly, there’s a bit of room away from the Furious fellas’ and the MCU. That’s what this flick is hoping for as Gerard Butler continues his quest to be the lower-tier action star, much like the Cannon crew did in the “go-go” 1980s (after Arnold and Sly there was Chuck and Claude). For this thiller-diller we travel to a real “hot spot” (in more ways than one) for a desert tale of undercover capers and narrow escapes. You see, everyone’s after Mr. B, so he’s got to somehow make it outta’ there via Kandahar. Heads up for lotsa’ sand and sweat!

It all does begin in the desert of Iran as a foreign tech crew is upgrading the area to high-speed internet.

Kandahar strikes at the heart of geopolitical and human rights issues embroiling the Middle East. The premise has an undercover operative and his translator trying to escape Afghanistan after their cover is blown. Different perspectives are seen as multiple factions try to capture the Western spies. A complex plot overreaches with intricacy and gets bogged down at various points. Slick action scenes, especially a spectacular nighttime helicopter chase, rescue the narrative from lulls. It's a firestorm of conflict told with a respectful handling of Islamic religious views.

In Iran, soldiers watch from above as a pair of contractors work feverishly to fix underground wires. Tom Harris (Gerard Butler) whispers as he secretly communicates with a CIA command center in the US. Oliver (Tom Rhys Harries) holds the Revolutionary Guards at bay as they wonder what's taking so long. Tom attaches a device that will monitor and install a virus targeting Iranian nuclear facilities.

If it’s true that an empty wagon makes a lot of noise, then “Kandahar” is the most deafening movie of the year thus far. A complicated but undercooked thriller about an MI6 operative (Gerard Butler) and his Afghan translator (Navid Negahban) stranded behind enemy lines, the movie peaks early — meaning the first 10 minutes — when Tom, the secret agent, covertly blows up an underground nuclear reactor in Iran.

Toussaint-White will play Jodie in Witness No.3, a single mum who runs a hairdressing salon. ITV and Hulu drama “The Sister,” an adaptation of Neil Cross’ bestselling novel “Burial,” has sold around the world following a successful terrestrial run in the U.K.

The series, led by captivating “Years and Years” star Russell Tovey, has sold into 75 global territories, including HBO for Spain and Portugal, Pickbox for Eastern Europe, Rte for Ireland, new SVOD service Salto for France, Cosmote for Greece, Manoto TV for the Middle East and North Africa, TV2 for Norway, Canal Plus for Poland, Viasat for Russia, Svt for Sweden, Turkcell for Turkey and Sbs Australia, among others.

Futuristic stories tend to upend the usual ways we judge an effective story. Every detail of some fictional, far-off future is a storytelling choice in itself. The elements of the recognizable world that get left behind are just as much a part of building out a future world as what’s included or how people interact.

In the new Amazon series “The Feed,” there’s less of an initial attempt to come up with bizarre fashion choices or crazy-tech vehicles. The biggest change is the overall shift to fewer things and greater empty space. Office areas are sparse. Living rooms are bare. Even the streets seem less crowded. That’s due in major part to The Feed, a near-universal technology that works much in the way Google Glass was supposed to. Via a device implanted in each “enabled” user, people can send messages, watch video, even project augmented reality-like changes...

The television adaptation of The Feed -- based on the novel by Nick Clark Windo -- immediately thrusts viewers into a sci-fi psychological thriller set in a future that feels very real and not at all distant.

Canneseries, the annual TV festival running alongside the Miptv content market in Cannes, has unveiled the competition line-up for its second edition (April 5-10).

The first two epsidoes from 10 new international series will screen in the main competition.

David Thewlis stars in the dystopian tale as the inventor of a brain implant that allows people to share thoughts and emotions alongside Guy Burnet, Michelle Fairley and Nina Toussaint-White as his family members.

Netflix movies may still be question mark in terms of being allowed in competition at the 2019 Cannes Film Festival in May, but the streaming giant will be present at Cannes Series. The Cannes television festival will mark its second year next month with Netflix going up against rival Amazon in the competition section. The full lineup includes series from Israel, Norway, Spain, and Belgium.

Netflix’s competition entry is the German series “How to Sell Drugs Online Fast,” from writers Philipp Käßbohrer and Matthias Murmann. Amazon is heading to Cannes Series with “The Feed,” a London-set drama created by Channing Powell and based on the novel Nick Clark Windo. “The Feed” stars “Game of Thrones” favorite Michelle Fairley opposite David Thewlis in a story about a piece of technology that allows people to instantly share thoughts and emotions. The tech falls into the wrong hands and becomes a murderous weapon.

Cannes Series has revealed the lineup, jury and masterclasses for its second edition, which takes place alongside the Mip TV market on the French Riviera.

Among ten series in competition at the TV festival are Netflix’s German show How To Sell Drugs Online and Amazon’s UK series The Feed with Michelle Fairley and David Thewlis. The BBC has announced a limited edition Blu-ray steelbook release for Doctor Who series 9. Alice X Zhang was personally selected by Peter Capaldi to design the artwork, which you can get a glimpse of above.

The steelbook set will be released on Monday the 7th of March, and is currently available for pre-order on Amazon. It will feature all the same extra features as the regular series 9 boxset (released the same day).
