The Pinkertons will air on Drama, UKTV has announced.

The crime drama becomes the first original and exclusive Us acquisition for the channel, and is premiering later this year.

The Pinkertons stars Angus Macfadyen as Allan Pinkerton, the founder of Pinkerton's National Detective Agency.

Together with his son William (Jacob Blair) and America's first female detective Kate Warne (Martha MacIsaac), they solve crimes throughout the Wild West of the 1860s.

Drama general manager Adrian Wills said: "2014 was a huge success for Drama, and it is the right time to broaden the channel's content lineup by premiering brilliant Us dramas to our viewers first, ahead of other UK broadcasters.

"The Pinkertons will complement the channel's existing slate of dramas, and I'm sure viewers will enjoy this compelling series."

The Pinkertons premiered in the Us late last year. The first season will comprise of 22 episodes.

This movie is clearly full of non stop acting and plenty of scenes that would be “in your face” for the 3D audience. I felt this movie focused more on the action scenes and lacked focus on a cohesive plot.

The fact that a viewer would have a hard time figuring out how this film connects to the prior sequels and the lack of character development makes this movie rather disappointing.

IFC Midnight, the genre branch of American film distributor IFC Films, acquired the Canadian thriller Wrecked at the American Film Market (Afm), an event where film distributors from the world meet. The film will be released in the USA in spring 2011.

The first film by Canadian director by Michael Greenspan follows a man (Adrian Brody) who wakes up in a car wreck at the bottom of a cliff. He's injured and has no recollection of who he is or even what he's done. His only companion is a radio. The voice of the news reader talks about a bank robbery that has gone awry. Moreover, a wallet he has identifies him as one of the robbers.

The film also stars Caroline Dhavernas, Ryan Robbins, Adrian Holmes and Jacob Blair. Moreover, Wrecked will be distributed in Canada by E1 Entertainment.

The film was shot in Errington, B.C. and now there is a trailer for this picture, even though the release date is a ways away - 2011. Alliance will distribute in Canada, with further distributors to announce shortly.

Wrecked is a little Canadian flick I've had my eyes on for well over a year. It was shot in British Columbia and is currenlty in post-production, but no matter how hard I tried, or who I begged, I just couldn't unearth any images or footage from the film.
