Blood of the Vines: The Longest Yard
Randy calls an audible and goes for a little Burt Reynolds.

It’s not too hard to connect the dots between professional football and prison, or between football and fine wine. It’s quite a bit harder to make a play for all three.

There is no shortage of star football players who have done a little time – or more – in the pokey. Conversely, some football folks have ventured into the field of wine. I’ll take football over prison and wine over either of those choices.

The Longest Yard has Burt Reynolds – himself a former college football player – as a prisoner who heads up the inmate football team in a contest against the guards, a game which is more than just a game to those on the field. It’s fantasy football with real consequences. These football heroes have numbers a lot longer than one or two digits; their football cards are mugshots.

Episode Recap: Castle - 1.05: "A Chill Goes Through Her Veins"
A frozen Db is found at a construction site and we get to see Beckett (Stana Katic) getting ready for work, with her gun, watch and necklace with ring on it. Wearing her red coat and blue top (those being Superman's colours!) Castle (Nathan Fillion) arrived at the scene before even Esposito (Jon Heurtas) did. "My first cold case" he quips. Lanie (Tamala Jones) agrees with him, it's not funny but it's true. The Db wasn't there last night and Castle comments they may as well be looking for ruby slippers (those worn by Dorothy in the Wizard of Oz.) Beckett adds the bit about the flying monkeys dumping her there. Castle comments on the killer's Mo: he froze her since he either wanted to keep her as a souvenir or he dumped the Db, Beckett concludes cos he didn't want to be reminded of her. They need to look...

or discounted admission St. Louis, Mo . June 20, 2011 . Dyer Straits Productions (Dsp) will honor all branches of active duty military at Contamination 2011: The Sequel this weekend June 24-26, 2011. Active duty soldiers showing up in uniform will get Free admission to the pop-culture, sci-fi and horror convention at the Sheraton Chalet in Westport Plaza. Active duty soldiers in civilian clothing will get ½ price admission. All will need to show current military ID at the ticket table to take advantage of this offer.

The second year of Contamination is bigger and better with celebrities, film icons, TV stars, sports figures, models/Playmates, filmmakers and musicians. Eric Roberts and .The Boondock Saints.
