Heather Wynters is a versatile and grounded actor whose compelling presence has landed her roles across a wide range of television and film projects. Known for her strength, energy, and "salt of the earth" authenticity, Heather has recurred on acclaimed series such as Fear the Walking Dead, Transparent, and The Pitt. She also appears in NCIS: Origins, American Horror Story, and Florida Man for HBO Max. On the film side, she's brought depth and edge to roles in Good Girl Jane, We Go On, and The Dawn, among others.

Originally from North Carolina and now based in Los Angeles, Heather's path to acting is as bold and dynamic as the characters she plays. With degrees in microbiology and science education, she began her career as a research biochemist before teaching mathematics for the U.S. Navy and presenting science shows across the country-including in New York City. She's worked atop research towers for NOAA, managed databases for the DOE, and even designed software for 35mm film scanners. This rare blend of intellect, curiosity, and grit informs every role she takes on.

Heather has trained extensively with some of the industry's top studios and coaches, including Marjorie Ballentine, Annie Grindlay, Amy Lyndon, and the Beverly Hills Playhouse. She thrives on challenge and gravitates toward roles that let her scare, surprise, or amuse-whether it's a chilling villain, a misunderstood oddball, or a scene-stealing creature in prosthetics. Westerns are a dream genre for her, and she brings a physicality to every performance that sets her apart, enhanced by a unique command of her tall, lean frame.

A certified private pilot and skilled pianist, Heather is a natural collaborator on set and is often praised for her work in heavy makeup, creature performance, and genre storytelling. Her creative compass is simple: be completely believable. That drive, coupled with her rich life experience, makes her a powerful force both in front of the camera and behind the scenes.

Fun fact: Heather once taught algebra and calculus aboard an aircraft carrier-the CVT-16 USS Lexington-for the University of North Florida. Just one of many past adventures that now fuel the artistry of a performer who's anything but typical.
