  • The oldest of seven children. Father, Robert Thunder, is a retired Minneapolis police officer. Mother, Mary Beth Thunder (fomerly Gouge), mostly stayed home to take care of the family but later worked as a receptionist at Upper Midwest American Indian Center in Minneapolis. Sisters are Nikki and Kristen. Brothers are Mike, Robb, Dan, and Eric.
  • Is an American Indian from the Red Lake (paternal side) and Lac Courte Oreilles (maternal side) Ojibwe Nations. Is also of French, English, and German descent.
  • Has four children, two girls and two boys: Savanna, River, Cheyenne, and Sequoya.

  • To show her appreciation for Dennis Hopper's support, in 2010, she wrote Governor Bill Richardson's Proclamation making May 17 "Dennis Hopper Day" in the State of New Mexico. May 17 was Dennis' birthday. He passed away shortly after.
