About the event:

Kannada cinema completed 80 years in 2014. It began with Sati Sulochana, the first Kannada talkie, which was released on 3 March 1934. From its difficult days in the beginning, Kannada cinema has now grown to serve a market that sees about 125 feature film releases every year. The climb has been hard but exciting and many real ‘heroes’ and ‘heroines’, off- and on-screen, have contributed to it.
