The older I get, the more I realize that neither my parents nor teachers properly prepared me for the wonders and horrors of adulthood. At 44, bills are gobbling my bank account like Pac-Man eats Power Pellets, and a Nintendo Switch 2 costs nearly $900 Canadian. Inflation, baby! If I had switched bodies with an adult back in the day, it could have provided some much-needed perspective about the crushing reality of middle age. Today, Disney is ready to make people across the age spectrum feel the burn with its latest trailer for Freakier Friday, the long-awaited sequel to the 2003 comedy starring Lindsay Lohan and Jamie Lee Curtis.
The upcoming cinematic romp brings the bodyswap mechanic back with style as the switcharoo magic extends to other members of the Coleman family. In addition to the Freakier Friday trailer, Disney dropped a new poster for the film featuring Lohan and Curtis mugging for the...

This article contains spoilers for "1923" season 2 episode 6.
Taylor Sheridan's "1923" season 2 is full of dark moments, but episode 6, "The Mountain Teeth of Monsters," might go down in history as the "Yellowstone" franchise's "Game of Thrones."-like "Red Wedding" moment. In this episode, several major characters are laid to rest in cruel and unforgiving ways, and it all ends with Alexandra Dutton (Julia Schlaepfer) fighting for survival in the middle of nowhere during a snowstorm. For the first time in a while, the "Yellowstone" spin-off feels truly unpredictable -- and all bets are off.
With the Duttons set to go to war with Whitfield and his crew over their land, the family is prioritizing Spencer's (Brandon Sklenar) safe passage to Montana, as their enemies intend on assassinating the war hero when his train pulls in. However, the Duttons' focus on Spencer makes them overlook Jack (Darren Mann), who, in the latest installment,...

[Warning: The following contains Major spoilers for 1923 Season 2 Episode 6, “The Mountain Teeth of Monsters.”] 1923 Season 2 killed off seven characters (and a horse) in its penultimate episode. Their deaths will reverberate throughout the Episode 7 finale, a nearly two-hour episode that comes out next Sunday, April 6, on Paramount+. In the absence of a renewal, these could be the final episodes of 1923 ever. Whether this is the final season or not, Season 2 is going out with a brutal bang. Every plot line, except Spencer’s (Brandon Sklenar) train ride home, had major deaths in this episode. The Duttons lost another family member in their fight against Donald Whitfield (Timothy Dalton). Teonna Rainwater’s (Aminah Nieves) story with Father Renaud (Sebastian Roché) reached its climax. And Alexandra (Julia Schlaepfer) caught a lucky break on her journey west that ended in devastation. The English couple that saved Alex from arrest in Episode 5, Paul (Augustus Prew) and Hillary (Janet Montgomery), drove the pregnant Alex from Winnetka, ...

Episode 6 of the second season of 1923 is the most shocking and upsetting so far. Things looked better for several of the characters in Episode 5 (although not everyone), but the latest episode of 1923 — ominously called "The Mountain Teeth of Monsters" — undoes any notions of life taking a more positive swing.
As 1923 has progressed during Season 2, the focus has been on the harshness of man and winter alike. Spring begins to appear in Episode 6, but its arrival brings violence and bloodshed instead of any fresh signs of life. No fewer than seven people die in "The Mountain Teeth of Monsters," and as the death toll mounts, it's hard not to think about just how many more people will die by season's end.
"The Mountain Teeth of Monsters" emphasizes loss and all its components while proving that no one is safe. Here's what happened and who managed to survive.

[Warning: The following contains Major spoilers for 1923 Season 2 Episode 5, “Only Gunshots to Guide Us.”] Two new characters with major impact on Alexandra’s (Julia Schlaepfer) journey west made their 1923 debuts in Season 2 Episode 5, which came out on Sunday, March 23, on Paramount+. Alex befriended British passengers Hillary and Paul as she worked for meals on her train to Chicago, where she was then supposed to transfer to a train bound for Fargo. When that trip was canceled due to a snowdrift, Hillary and Paul offered Alex shelter and comfort in their Winnetka, Illinois home. It was a lucky break after the devastating sexual assault Alex endured from an American train passenger, an ordeal that would’ve gotten Alex arrested for assault had it not been for Hillary and Paul vouching that her actions were in self-defense. (Alex poured a pot of scalding-hot coffee on her attacker’s lap and beat him with the metal carafe in retaliation.) Janet Montgomery and Augustus ...

Episode 5 of the second season of 1923 offers the hope of winter's end but, as the title indicates, "Only Gunshots to Guide Us," spring will arrive with a bang. As Father Renaud (Sebastian Roche) and Marshal Kent (Jamie McShane) continue to hunt for Teonna Rainwater (Aminah Nieves), Pete Plenty Clouds (Jeremy Gauna), and Runs His Horse (Michael Spears), both Alexandra (Julie Schlaepfer) and Spencer (Brandon Sklenar) remain on arduous journeys to reunite.
After Episode 4, Alexandra seemed to be in a better position than Spencer, but it quickly becomes clear in the latest episode that the opposite is true. There's no real information about the Duttons in Montana in "Only Guns to Guide Us," but with Spencer getting closer to home, war appears imminent.
The plight of women during the early 20th century and how it manifests itself in different settings is evident, as is the ever-present class divide, in episode 5 of 1923's second season.

Anyone who's watched the hit Apple TV+ series "Severance" knows that it takes inspiration from many, many pop culture juggernauts that came before it. "Lost" is absolutely a reference point for the show's creator Dan Erickson, as is the famous anthology series "The Twilight Zone" — and apparently, a very specific installment of another anthology show, "Black Mirror," helped Erickson come up with the idea for "Severance."
The episode in question is "White Christmas," a standalone episode of "Black Mirror" that aired on the British network Channel 4 and was broadcast in the United States just before the entire series moved to Netflix for all future seasons. In an interview with The New York Times in 2022 after the first season of "Severance" concluded, Erickson said that "White Christmas," which came out in 2014, was such an unsettling episode that it gave him some ideas for "Severance" — specifically thanks to the fact that,...

One of Paramount Plus' better originals from 2022, the wait for more of The Ex-Wife, an adaptation of the novel by Jess Ryder, has been bitterly long ever since all four Season 1 episodes premiered on October 12, 2022. The Ex-Wife tells the tale of Tasha (Céline Buckens), a young, happily-married woman besotted by her middle-aged partner, Jack (Tom Mison). However, all is not as it first seems, with trouble in paradise brewing as Tasha begins to become jealous of Jack's strong relationship with his ex-wife, Jen (Janet Montgomery).

For many, Janet Montgomery is best known for her work in television. She played the character Ames in 11 episodes of Human Target, Jennie in 10 episodes of Entourage, Mary Sibley in 36 episodes of Salem, and Dr. Lauren Bloom in 89 episodes of New Amsterdam – but I’m most familiar with her work in two horror films that were released in 2009, The Hills Run Red and Wrong Turn 3: Left for Dead. So it’s cool to hear that she’s returning to the world of horror features with her latest project, a body horror film called Symbiosis.

Body horror continues its hot streak, as Deadline reports today that “Salem” star Janet Montgomery has been set to lead the sci-fi body horror feature Symbiosis.
Mark Heller (The Passage) directs from a screenplay by Stephen James Thompson.
In Symbiosis, “a husband-and-wife team are working over Christmas as the only two people who can save humanity from an alien parasite — tiny tapeworm creatures which have invaded the bodies of the human race. Isolated and suffocating under the weight of their circumstances, the fault lines of the married couple’s relationship are exposed.”
Just the mention of tapeworms is enough to get the gag reflex warmed up.
Janet Montgomery said of the project, “When I read Symbiosis, I knew I had to be part of this unique story. The intimate exploration of a relationship on the brink set in a dystopian world makes the role of Yulia such a fascinating and complex human story.

Even though Harrison Ford is 82 years old with an extensive CV spanning many decades, he continues to find ways to evolve in his career. His 1923 co-star Helen Mirren is one person who believes that, insisting "something magical" has happened to Ford's acting as time passed.
Speaking with The Wall Street Journal, Mirren praised Ford for his acting range, with 1923 showing more of his emotional side as one of the spinoff's main protagonists. According to the Oscar winner, Ford "didn't want" to be a big Hollywood star, but let his talent speak for itself and trusted his "inner feelings" over time.

A prequel to Yellowstone from franchise creator Taylor Sheridan, the Paramount+ series features Harrison Ford and Helen Mirren and serves as a sequel to 1883. The story centers around the Dutton family during the titular year, which included the Western Expansion, Prohibition, and the Great Depression. It quickly broke records for Paramount+, paving the way for a renewal, but 1923 season 2 has been delayed due to the impact of the writers' and actors' strikes.
It has now been confirmed that 1923 season 2 will premiere on Paramount+ on February 23. The news about season 2's release date comes along with the announcement that the first season of the prequel will begin airing on Paramount Network, the original home of Yellowstone, as of December 8.

Agatha All Along has been a fantastic series, and there are more shows to watch if you love that witchy magic!
The Marvel Television series has become a major hit for Disney Plus. This sequel to WandaVision has Kathryn Hahn reprising her scene-stealing role as witch Agatha Harkness, the secret architect of much of the chaos. After regaining her memory and powers, Agatha goes on a quest for more power with the uneasy aid of other witches and a mysterious Teen.
The show has a wonderful mix of dark humor, action, thrills, drama and some truly shocking twists. It’s one of many TV shows that use witches and magic, most aimed at a YA audience. Others do have the same appeal as Agatha with a darker take on magic yet some truly offbeat storytelling.
Narrowing it down can be hard, but these 15 shows are just for anyone who enjoyed Agatha All Along.

Britain's television landscape has often been linked with gritty characters, compelling storylines, and complex dramas, with no genre embodying those traits quite like an iconic British spy series. The British fiction's fascination with spies and espionage can be traced back to Ian Fleming's iconic James Bond character from 1953, which garnered worldwide attention and acclaim. Though other countries produce quality works in the genre, the British versions tend to have a biting dialogue mixed with intricate, layered narratives that create some of the most intense, thrilling shows of all time.
Uniquely British spy series from older generations, such as Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy, shows the complexity of the genre and the underlying tension and psychological pressures that agents must endure on their missions. Modern series like the beloved Killing Eve show a different layer to the genre, with a more quirky and comical tone that is still punctuated with moments...

“Yellowstone” is back.
Taylor Sheridan’s phenomenally popular series, the most-watched show currently airing on television, returns on Sunday, Nov. 10. The new batch of episodes (six in total) serve as the second half of the show’s fifth season, which began way back in November 2022. Since then, the show has endured a very public feud with its star Kevin Costner, two strikes that shutdown Hollywood and a considerable amount of handwringing about what direction the series will ultimately take.
And while it appears that the mainline series is coming to an end, although that “final season” bit has been left out of the marketing materials for the second half of season 5 (so far), there will still be plenty to come from Sheridan’s considerable “Yellowstone” universe. These plans include a whole suite of “Yellowstone” spinoffs, which are somewhat confusing and difficult to parse through. But that’s why we’re here.

1923 season 2 gets a production update, returning to its Montana location after a setback. The popular Yellowstone prequel, led by Harrison Ford and Helen Mirren in their respective roles as Jacob and Cara Dutton, began filming on the strike-delayed 1923 season 2 in July. The news comes after the Paramount+ drama has revealed new casting details, along with new story details that point to the show taking a potentially darker turn.
NBC Montana confirms that the upcoming episodes of 1923 season 2 will film some scenes in Butte, Montana. The report notes that even though most of the filming so far has taken place in Austin, Texas, production will be moving up to Montana next month. It is expected that filming will last for about a month, taking place at a ranch, the Civic Center, and a couple of places in Uptown Butte. This is expected to start somewhere between the middle to late October.

1923 Season 2 seems on course for some major Dutton family drama. Star Brandon Sklenar suggests fans should saddle up for a "darker" second season of the Yellowstone prequel.
Speaking with Forbes, Sklenar teases a big tone shift for 1923 Season 2 as he'll share more screen time with co-leads Harrison Ford (Jacob Dutton) and Helen Mirren (Cara Dutton), who play the Dutton family patriarch and matriarch. He also claimed the series finale would be must-see TV. "The tone shifts a lot and its definitely a bit darker. Its very beautiful. Its so hard for me to not give away spoilers. I do get plenty of Helen [Mirren] and Harrison [Ford] time, and its going to be special. I mean, the finale of the series is probably one of the best things Ive read in my life," he said.
