Christopher LaMark is an American director, writer, and actor recognized for his ability to fearlessly tell powerful stories that often challenge mainstream thought and exhibit historical significance. His films range from emotional heart-felt narratives to compelling historical documentaries.
His uncompromising style was on full display in the feature film, Unspoken (2022), a documentary starring Grammy winning artist, Lecrae, Jackie Hill-Perry, and acclaimed sports analyst Chris Broussard. The ground-breaking film that addresses the controversial topic of Christianity and how the faith is commonly depicted as a western religion, aired on FOX Soul for 6 consecutive weeks, and is used in churches worldwide as an educational resource.
His second documentary Burning in Galena Manor (2025), depicts the life of Milton Alford, the first African American firefighter in the city of Houston. The film gained entry into seven film festivals including the Montreal International Black Film Festival.
He stepped into the narrative filmmaking space with his debut short film, Shine (2017). Recognized by the Houston Film Commission as an excellent example of short form filmmaking, "Shine" was nominated for 4 awards at the International Christian Film Festival, won the award for ‘Best Youth Actor’ at the Deep in the Heart Film Festival in Waco, Texas, and was awarded ‘Best Short Film’ at the HGAG Film Festival in Houston.
The multi-talented artist from Baytown, Texas graduated from the University of Houston where he majored in media production while playing Division I football. Shortly after graduating, the student athlete booked his first co-star acting role on the hit series, Prison Break (2005), which filmed in Texas. He moved to Los Angeles to further develop his acting career with co-star roles on shows such as Hawthorne (2009), starring Jada Pickett-Smith and Gary Unmarried (2008), starring Jay Mohr.
His first independent project was a web-series titled, Heavenly Help (2012). The series garnered lots of attention and won the ‘Best New Media’ award at the Burbank International Film Festival in Burbank, California. It also aired on JUCE TV and Parables TV for multiple seasons.
