Following the enormous success of the semi-staged performance of My Fair Lady at the Proms in 2012, John Wilson returned to perform Cole Porter's Tony Award-winning musical Kiss Me, Kate last summer. Joining John Wilson and the John Wilson Orchestra, Broadway stalwarts Ben Davis, Alexandra Silber, Tony Yazbeck and West End star Louise Dearman led the cast in an irreverent reworking of Shakespeare's The Taming of the Shrew -- a play within a play. Sky Arts has announced its lineup of programmes to air over the Christmas period.

As previously announced, Stephen Fry and Kiefer Sutherland are to star in the one-off drama Marked. The 24: Live Another Day co-stars will reunite for the comedy and drama strand Playhouse Presents...

The story follows James (Sutherland) who is struggling with his personal and professional life, and agrees to become a hitman in order to raise some money.

After taking the job from his neighbour (Kevin McNally), he is surprised when he discovers who his victim (Fry) is.

Meanwhile, The Christmas Window Live will feature stars of stage and screen including Pixie Lott and classical violinist Tamsin Little performing in a London shop window over 12 days.

Adam Buxton Loves Christmas will see the comedian exploring the meaning of the season from his own garden shed, while Anita Rani will host The Great Culture Quiz, which pits...

Many symphony orchestras now play music from Hollywood’s golden age, but none that I’m aware of has attempted to perform Scott Bradley’s breakneck-paced scores for Tom and Jerry cartoons—until now. I’m indebted to Rob Paquin for sending me the YouTube link to this remarkable performance by the John Wilson Orchestra at London’s Royal Albert Hall, as part of the BBC Proms concert series.
