Cody Rhodes Never Regretted ‘Disrespecting’ Triple H That the Cerebral Assassin Fully Supported
Image
It has been a roller coaster ride for Cody Rhodes during his second run in WWE so far. After his devastating loss at WrestleMania 41, the American Nightmare returned to get back the WWE Championship and challenge John Cena, starting with a cameo appearance during Saturday Night’s Main Event.

However, the past deeds are still a major talking point for Cody Rhodes. During his time in the Aew, the American Nightmare was known for his anti-wwe words and remarks, which stirred controversy in the wrestling community. While his rise to the ladder of success in WWE is evident, Rhodes is not disappointed about what he said about the company or Triple H in the past.

‘Aew: Collision’ Review (Jul 13th 2024)
Image
Welcome to this week’s review of Aew’s latest television show, Collision, which brings wrestling back to Saturday nights! We’ve got the commentary team of Tony Schiavone and Nigel McGuinness calling the action, so let’s get into the review!

Match #1: Konosuke Takeshita def. “Dynamite Kid” Tommy Billington The following is courtesy of allelitewrestling.com:

Takeshita shoved Billington to the mat. Takeshita booted Billington in the head, but Billington charged back with a shoulder tackle. Billington dropkicked Takeshita. Billington tried his luck again, but Takeshita dodged the second dropkick attempt from Billington. Billington tried for a running crossbody and both men spilled to the arena floor. Billington body slammed Takeshita on the arena floor. Billington climbed to the top turnbuckle, but Takeshita knocked Billington down and then blasted Billington with a brainbuster from the top rope. Takeshita and Billington traded forearms strikes. Takeshita whipped Billington into the steel ring post.

‘Aew: Rampage’ Review (Jul 12th 2024)
Image
It’s Monday so you know what that means, it’s time for our weekly review of Aew: Rampage! This week’s show emanated from the Landers Center in Southaven, Ms, and featured Tony Schiavone and Matt Menard on commentary. Now let’s get to the review…

Match #1: Kings of the Black Throne (Malakai Black & Brody King) def. The Premier Athletes (Tony Nese & Ariya Daivari) The following is courtesy of allelitewrestling.com:

Black blocked a thrust kick from Daivari and tried to counter with a round kick, but Daivari ducked it. Nese tagged in and cracked Black with a forearm. Black blasted Nese with a back elbow and tagged Brody in. Nese chopped Brody but Brody didn’t budge. Brody leveled Nese with a chop of his own. Brody back body dropped Nese high into the air. Brody followed up with a sit-out senton for a near fall. Malakai Black tagged in,...

‘Aew: Collision’ Review (May 18th 2024)
Image
Welcome to this week’s review of Aew’s latest television show, Collision, which brings wrestling back to Saturday nights! We’ve got the commentary team of Tony Schiavone and Nigel McGuinness calling the action, so let’s get into the review!

Match #1: Will Ospreay def. Shane Taylor The following is courtesy of allelitewrestling.com:

Before the match began, International Champion Roderick Strong, accompanied by Roh World Tag Team Champions Mike Bennett and Matt Taven, walked to the broadcast booth. Roderick joined the commentary team. Ospreay charged and Taylor, but it was like running into a brick wall, Taylor knocking Will right to the mat. Taylor walloped Ospreay with a chop to the chest. Taylor told Strong to pay attention. While Taylor was distracted, Ospreay shoved Taylor into Taven and Bennett! Ospreay tossed a water at Roderick, splashing him right in the face. As the ref was dealing with the Undisputed Kingdom,...

‘Aew: Rampage’ Review (Apr 27th 2024)
Image
Now I’d normally say “It’s Monday so you know what that means”, but this week’s Aew: Rampage took place After Collision on Saturday night and was, like the rest of this past week’s Aew programming, broadcast from Daily’s Place in Jacksonville, Florida and – like Collision – featured Nigel McGuiness and Tony Schiavone on commentary, with guerst appearances by Matt Menards and Anthony Ogogo. Now let’s get to the review…

Match #1: Parking Lot Fight – Trent Beretta def. Chuck Taylor The following is courtesy of allelitewrestling.com:

Trent whacked Taylor with a trashcan lid. Trent slammed a garbage can on top of Chuck. Chuck power bombed Trent onto the hood of a car. Trent jumped off a truck and dropped an elbow on top of Chuck, who himself was on the roof of another car! Chuck suplexed Trent through a door that had been propped up onto a car.

‘Aew: Dynamite’ Review (Apr 10th 2024)
Image
Welcome to this week’s review of Aew: Dynamite, which was broadcast from the Charleston Coliseum in Charleston, Wv. We’ve got Excalibur, Tony Schiavone, and Taz on commentary this week, so let’s get into the review!

Match #1: TNT Championship Match – Adam Copeland def. Penta El Zero Miedo The following is courtesy of allelitewrestling.com:

Penta speared Copeland and then stuck him with a diving double foot stomp for a near fall. Penta El Zero Miedo hit Copeland with a clothesline, knocking Copeland to the arena floor. Copeland got back in the ring and Penta greeted him with a chop to Copeland’s chest. Copeland rallied back with flying head scissors. Copeland and Penta El Zero Miedo both had the same idea, fighting fire with fire, clubbing each other with lariats and then high boots. Penta El Zero Miedo had Copeland rocked after a sling blade. Penta flipped...

Image
Welcome to this week’s review of Aew’s latest television show, Collision, which brings wrestling back to Saturday nights! We’ve got the commentary team of Nigel McGuinness and Tony Schiavone calling the action, so let’s get into the review!

Match #1: Ftr (Dax Harwood & Cash Wheeler) def. Top Flight (Darius & Dante Martin) The following is courtesy of allelitewrestling.com:

Top Flight used tandem offense on Cash, but Cash used his veteran experience, quickly rolling out of the ring. Dante used an arm drag to takedown Dax. Dante hit a sunset flip for a two-count on Dax. Darius tagged in but Dax was ready for him. Dax tagged Cash and they rammed Darius with a double shoulder tackle. Dante was able to reach to Darius for a tag, but Cash chopped away at Dante. Then Dax hoisted up Dante, placing him on the top turnbuckle. Dante escaped and...

Why Cm Punk and Cody Rhodes Returning to WWE Could Mean the End for Aew
Image
A long time in a professional wrestling world far, far away, Cody Rhodes was an executive vice president of All Elite Wrestling (Aew). Over time, The American Nightmare also garnered numerous title reigns in this alternative company that just added to his family's legacy. Nobody would suspect that a foundational player in Aew’s history would end up leaving the same wrestling federation that he helped to create. But as time went on, he became more and more disconnected with the audience (fans would note a disastrous and cringe-worthy weigh-in segment with Anthony Ogogo once again wrestling under a mask as Fuego Two).

Fortunately, the younger son of the late and great Dusty Rhodes found his way back to the place where it all began for him. On April 2nd, 2022, Cody Rhodes returned to WWE as Seth Rollins’ mystery opponent at Wrestlemania 38. Even though we shall not forget Cody’s...

‘Aew: Dark’ Review (Sep 20th 2022)
Image
Another week, another episode of Aew: Dark which, after last week’s short five-match card, is a whopping 11-match show..! Let’s just say I prefer the shorter shows. Let’s get right into the review!

Match #1: John Silver & Alex Reynolds def. Zuka & Alexander Moss

My Thoughts: I’m in a constant state of worry about the current 4-man roster of the Dark Order. It seems like the further away from the death of Brodie Lee, the more Tony Khan seems to be abandoning this team. I do sometimes wonder if not for their connection to Hangman Page, would they all still be in Aew? Which is a shame because the Dark Order, and in particular John Silver & Alex Reynolds, always deliver great matches – even on Dark and Elevation!

My Score: 2.5 out of 5 Match #2: Emi Sakura def. Avery Breaux

My Thoughts: It would seem that Emi Sakura is...

‘Aew: Dark’ Review (Aug 23rd 2022)
Image
Another week, another episode of Aew: Dark which emanates from Aew Universal once again. We’ve got Taz and Excalibur on commentary as usual, so let’s get to the action!

Match #1: The Renegade Twins def. Rocky Radley & Allie Recks

My Thoughts: The Renegade Twins get to face the enhancement talent rather than Be the enhancement talent? What a shocker. And they got some decent competition in Radley and Recks (that’s actually one hell of a tag team name Imho), making this another… let’s say it together… Aew quasi-squash match!

My Score: 1.5 out of 5 Match #2: Anthony Ogogo def. Meto

My Thoughts: This was Anthony Ogogo doing his usual thing of playing with his opponent, this time for longer than usual. I do wonder where Ogogo’s career can go beyond these kinds of matches?

My Score: 2 out of 5 Match #3: Peter Avalon & Ryan Nemeth def. Adrian Alanis...

‘Aew Dark: Elevation – Episode 74’ Review
Image
Welcome to this week’s review of Aew Dark: Elevation, the opening salvo in the Aew wrestling week. Once again we’ve got the duo of Tony Schiavone and Mark Henry on commentary this week… Let’s see what the show has to offer!

Match #1: Julia Hart def. Lmk

My Thoughts: Julia Hart’s transformation continues… Like last week, ere her character work was at the fore, with a determined walk to the ring, a stalking of her opponent (which I think is Really working for Hart) and a vicious streak that saw her slap the crap out of Lmk. Onwards and upwards for Hart methinks!

My Score: 2 out of 5 Match #2: Leila Grey def. Jc

My Thoughts: It’s clear Aew see something in Leila Grey, given that she’s had numerous matches now And she’s been lined up as a baddie replacement on the main shows too.

‘Aew Dark: Elevation – Episode 71’ Review
Image
Welcome to this week’s review of Aew Dark: Elevation, the opening salvo in the Aew wrestling week. This time round we’ve got Tony Schiavone and Caprice Coleman on commentary (with Anthony Ogogo joining them in the later matches), which makes for a refreshing change to proceedings. Let’s see what the show has to offer!

Match #1: Emi Sakura def. Paris Van Dale

My Thoughts: Surprise, surprise. Emi Sakura finally gets to have a singles match on one of Aew’s YouTube shows. She’s been stuck in women’s tag/trios whirlygig for weeks now, so it’s weird to see her in a one-on-one match. Though this wasn’t really a match, this was a typical Aew quasi-squash, with Paris Van Dale getting a couple of big spots in – a running bulldog, a open-leg faceplant – but nothing that gave Emi anything to worry about.

My Score:...

‘Aew Dark: Elevation – Episode 70’ Review
Image
Welcome to this week’s review of Aew Dark: Elevation which was filmed prior to Blood and Guts last Wednesday. We’ve got Tony Schiavone and Mark Henry on commentary and a mere six matches to cover. So let’s get to it!

Match #1: Anna Jay def. Megan Meyers

My Thoughts: Megan Meyers looks the part that’s for sure. She reminded me of Abadon but less monstrous and terrifying. She showed some promise too, taking it to Anna Jay – which means this was, you guessed it, an Aew quasi-squash match!

My Score: 2 out of 5 Match #2: Best Friends def. Isaiah Broner and Gpa

My Thoughts: This was another quasi-squash with Broner and Gpa given enough room by Best Friends to put in some offence. Broner looked impressive both in size and strength whilst Gpa brought the skills. Nice to see Chuck Taylor get the pin this week too!

‘Aew Dark: Elevation – Episode 69’ Review
Image
Welcome to this week’s review of Aew Dark: Elevation which sees the show get back to a longer card, featuring seven matches this week. We’ve got Excalibur, Anthony Ogogo and Mark Henry on commentary once again… Let’s get into it!

Match #1: Anna Jay def. Heather Reckless

My Thoughts: This was a quasi-squash, with Heather Reckless given a couple of chances to get a shot in on Anna Jay, otherwise this was all Anna – a woman who’s literally getting better and better each and every time she wrestles. It helps that you’ve got someone like Reckless as an opponent – she can really sell a move!

My Score: 1.5 out of 5 Match #2: Powerhouse Hobbs & Rocky Starks def. Jordan Kross & Joey Jett

My Thoughts: What’s not to love about Hobbs & Starks? Plus this week we actually get Taz come out with them and stand ringside! Kross...

‘Aew Dark: Elevation – Episode 68’ Review

Welcome to this week’s review of Aew Dark: Elevation which sees the show get back to a longer card, featuring seven matches this week. We’ve got Excalibur, Anthony Ogogo and Mark Henry on commentary and Serena Deeb and Mercedes Martinez re-teaming for more women’s tag action! Let’s get into the review…

Match #1: Serena Deeb and Mercedes Martinez def. Heather Reckless and Tootie Lynn

My Thoughts: Serena Deeb and Mercedes Martinez are re-teaming once again for more tempestuous women’s tag team wrestling. The duo work together on a knife-edge and it has brought an interesting air of tension to their matches so far – and this one’s no different. Like their last pairing, this was an example of an Aew quasi-squash match, with Deeb and Martinez giving Heather Reckless and Tootie Lynn a modicum of space to Try and get some offence in!

‘Aew: Dark’ Review (June 14th 2022)
Image
Another episode of Aew: Dark, which this week was apparently taped around an episode of Rampage so we get a decent crowd and bigger names on the card. Let’s join Taz and Excalibur, commentators for Dark as usual, and see what this week’s Eight matches have in store… Those match counts are getting bigger and bigger the further we get from Double or Nothing.

Match #1: Qt Marshall def. Alan Angels

My Thoughts: Wtf?! We closed this week’s Elevation with Dark Order versus The Factory and open this week’s Dark with Alan Angels versus Qt Marshall… Running out of ideas much? I’m really starting to wonder what the hell the plan is, if there is a plan, with these recurring Dark Order/The Factory matches? Feuding on YouTube shows but not referencing them outside of YouTube. Hell, I’m expecting to see both teams start...

‘Aew Dark: Elevation – Episode 66’ Review
Image
Welcome to this week’s review of Aew Dark: Elevation which has a short run time and a four-match card. I could honestly get used to these shorter shows! On commentary this week we have Paul Wight, Mark Henry And Tony Schiavone. Let’s get right into the action, which comes from the Kia Forum (aka The Forum) in Los Angeles, California.

Match #1: The Factory def. Dark Order

My Thoughts: This was a good, but not great, match. The kind of match you can watch without really paying attention to it and still know exactly what’s going on. Can’t believe Dark Order lost to The factory though, it looks like the faction are back to losing match after match, week after week. Do we need an injection of new blood into Dark Order? Probably.

‘Aew: Dark’ Review (May 31st 2022)
Image
Another episode of Aew: Dark and another short post-Double or Nothing show. After yesterday’s 20-minute Elevation we get a sub-30 minute episode of Dark And another title defence for Mercedes Martinez! Taz and Excalibur are joined by Caprice Coleman on commentary for the matches this week!

Match #1: Roh Women’s Championship – Mercedes Martinez def. Viva Van

My Thoughts: The veteran Mercedes Martinez faces yeat another “green” wrestler in Viva Van, who only has three years under her belt compared to Martinez’s 21 years in the business! This was a patented (by me) Aew quasi-squash match, with Van given a little room to get some offence in before being dominated by Martinez. Better than Martinez’s Elevation match.

My Score: 2.5 out of 5 Match #2: The Butcher & The Blade def. Hunter Grey & Paul Titan

My Thoughts: Well Hunter Grey & Paul Titan have an interesting look. Didn’t stop them from...

‘Aew: Dark’ Review (May 24th 2022)
Image
Welcome to this week’s review of Aew: Dark which comes from Aew Universal and features nine matches this week. Once again we’ve got the winning team of Taz and Excalibur on commentary… Let’s get into the review!

Match #1: Kris Statlander def. Avery Breaux

My Thoughts: We open this week’s Dark with one of Aew signature matches. The quasi-squash. With Kris Statlander in control of this one, giving Breux just enough time to get in a modicum of offence. What really marked this match out was the silence… This Aew Universal crowd were quiet. Like really quiet for this match!

My Score: 1.5 out of 5 Match #2: “Daddy Magic” Matt Menard & “Cool Hand” Angelo Parker def. Eli Isom & Tug Cooper

‘Aew Dark: Elevation – Episode 64’ Review
Image
Welcome to this week’s review of Aew Dark: Elevation, we’re back to just Mark Henry and Paul Wight on commentary and this week’s show is another short card, featuring 6 matches this week. Let’s get right into the action!

Match #1: Ethan Page def. Jd Griffey

My Thoughts: Griffey had a decent showing here in this quasi-squash match, but this one was Ethan Page’s to lose. It’s good to see Page actually wrestling on Aew television and not just cutting promos. Maybe now Scorpio Sky has the TNT Title spotlight that some of the spotlight will rub off on Page. Here’s Hoping!

My Score: 2 out of 5 Match #2: Roh Women’s Title Match – Mercedes Martinez def. Hyan

My Thoughts: Mercedes Martinez gave Texas local Hyan a Lot of room here. It even looked like she was doing Hyan’s moves for her at one point!

Welcome to this week’s review of Aew Dark: Elevation, we’ve got Paul Wight, Mark Henry, Tony Schiavone And Anthony Ogogo on commentary (4 people! 4!) and another short and sweet 6-match card, so let’s get right into the action!

Match #1: Bear Bronson def. Brandon Cutler

My Thoughts: This was the usual Brandon Cutler match. A squash but one that saw Cutler up to his usual antics and comedy wrestling style. Unfortunately for Cutler Bear Bronson took this one a bit more seriously and got the quick win.

My Score: 1.5 out of 5 Match #2: Brody King def. Alex Reynolds

My Thoughts: Another quick squash match for Elevation as Brodie King. Well it wasn’t a Total squash, with Reynolds at least getting some good offence in against the more powerful Brody King. And it was power that won the day here.

Image
Welcome to this week’s review of Aew Dark: Elevation, we’ve got Excalibur, Mark Henry and Paul Wight on commentary and an 8-match card. Let’s get right into the action!

Match #1: Julia Hart def. Abby Jane

My Thoughts: Abby Jane makes her Aew debut in a squash match against Julia Hart, who’s clearly been taking lessons from someone in the back – unleashing a couple of chops on Jane that sounded like they really hurt! Hart is still selling the black mist, this week the dark patch under her eye is significantly bigger than previously; and she’s getting more and more aggressive. Perhaps we’re due the final turn for Hart real soon?

My Score: 2 out of 5 Match #2: Anthony Ogogo def. Goldy

My Thoughts: Another squash match for Anthony Ogogo. Though it looks like, as with Julia Hart, some improvements have been since his last televised match.

It’s time for this week’s review of Aew: Dark, which emanates from Aew Universal and features a whopping 14 matches in just over an hour… So you know what that means. Squash-tastic action this week! We’ve got Taz and Excalibur on commentary so let’s get right to it.

Match #1: Jay Lethal def. Jd Drake

My Thoughts: This was a great opener with one of my personal faves Jd Drake holding his own against Jay Lethal. I know Drake isn’t going to win this but he gave one hell of a performance, making Lethal work for the win. One day Drake will get a solo win against one of Aew’s big-name stars.

My Score: 3 out of 5 Match #2: The Butcher & The Blade def. Carlie Bravo & Shawn Dean

My Thoughts: The Butcher follows up his fantastic singles match last week with a total squash match on poor Carlie Bravo & Shawn Dean.

Image
It’s Wednesday morning so you know what that means… It’s time for our review of this weeks Aew: Dark, which this week comes from Aew Universal in Orlando, Florida. Like the show itself, let’s get right into the action!

Match #1: Julia Hart def. Kelsey Heather

My Thoughts: Julia Hart continues her aggressive streak Again in this match, beating the hell out of her Kelsey Heather – an opponent who tried to trash talk too much and paid for it. Long may this streak continue as it’s certainly improved the presentation of Hart over the past few weeks. Hart ended the match with the same great-looking submission finish too!

My Score: 2 out of 5 Match #2: Powerhouse Hobbs def. Gus De La Vega

My Thoughts: You know what? I kind of liked Ogogo in Aew back before he left to have surgery over here in the UK. Now? Not so much. Now everything feels forced, everything feels like it’s scripted, like it’s a desperate attempt to get him back over with Aew fans – only as some sort of major heel. It’s not working. So much so that I was urging on Mr Dragonball himself, Marcus Kross, to kick Ogogo’s arse! He didn’t instead he got squashed and knocked out…

My Score: 1 out of 5 Match #2: Penelope Ford def. Angelica Risk

My Thoughts: This was better than I expected if I’m honest.

‘Aew Dark: Elevation – Episode 41’ Review
Image
Welcome to this weeks review of Aew Dark: Elevation, which features Tony Nese and Alex Reynolds in the main event and the welcome appearance of Santana & Ortiz in tag team action. On commentary, as usual, is Tony Schiavone, Mark Henry and Eddie Kingston… Speaking of Kingston, you should definitely check out his interview with Rasslin’ And his appearance on the Swerve City Podcast. Both well worth your time!

Match #1: Thunder Rosa def. Gabby Ortiz

My Thoughts: This was, yet again, another of Thunder Rosa trademark matches. She was in control b ut let her opponent get in a few moves – in this case some hard-looking hits from Gabby Ortiz – before taking charge again and getting the win. Ortiz actually looked good in this one, managing to show off her skills And personality in the short time this match had.

My Score: 2 out of 5 Match #2: Red Velvet and Kris Statlander def.

‘Aew: Dark’ Review (Dec 7th 2021)
Image
Welcome to this weeks review of Aew: Dark, which is back in Aew Universal and is so packed with action that intros are kept short and we get right into the action… So let’s get right into this review!

Match #1: Lee Moriarty def. Mysterioso

My Thoughts: Fresh of his fantastic match against Cm Punk, Lee Moriarty is back on Aew programing in another great match, this time against Mysterioso – who looked good in defeat, delivering some great offense on Moriarty and some near-falls. Both men worked well together, Taiga-style seemingly well-matched by Lucha Libre wrestling. Eventually Moriarty hit a flatliner Ddt on Mysterioso for the win.

My Score: 2.5 out of 5 Match #2: Lio Rush def. Rayo

My Thoughts: This match was all about showing off Lio Rush’s skills to the Aew audience ahead of tonight’s Battle Royale. Rayo got some decent hits in and even a...

‘Aew Dark: Elevation – Episode 40’ Review
Image
Welcome to the first of this weeks Aew reviews, Aew Dark: Elevation, which kicks off the wrestling week for us here at Nerdly. As always I’m editor Phil and let’s get straight into the review!

Match 1: Riho def. Angelica Risk

My Thoughts: I expected this to be a swift squash match for Riho on the road to her match against Jamie Hayter later this week but that was not what we got. Angelica Risk was actually a decent opponent for Riho, matching Riho’s speed with her own strength – with a running hip (really butt) shot on Riho in the corner that looked vicious.

My Score: 2.5 out of 5 Match 2: Brock Anderson, Lee Johnson & Dustin Rhodes def. The Wingmen

My Thoughts: A solid trios match that saw Dustin Rhoides outclass everyone in the match in the brioef time he was in the ring. As I always say,...

Strictly Come Dancing 2015 winner: We rank the celebrities' chances of topping BBC One's dance-off
Strictly Come Dancing had another classic Halloween episode this weekend, but of course it was scarier for some of the celebrities than others. But who looks like they might be out of the running and who is creeping closer to that Glitter Ball trophy?

Out of the running: Kirsty Gallacher

Well, this seems particularly cruel. Kirsty had finally started to turn things around last week and was creeping up our rankings… but then her Halloween Charleston went horribly wrong with slips and mistakes and she picked up her lowest score of the series before becoming the first woman to be booted out (she joins the series' other eliminees Iwan Thomas, Anthony Ogogo, Daniel O'Donnell and Ainsley Harriott). Bad luck, Kirsty.

10. Jamelia (⬇3)

It doesn't seem quite fair to have Jamelia at the bottom of the rankings. She's far from the worst dancer in the competition and she's been improving, too, but...

BBC want Apprentice best of
Anthony Ogogo's 'Strictly Come Dancing' partner Oti Mabuse banned him from having sex. The Olympic boxer was voted off the celebrity dance contest last weekend after losing the dance-off to TV chef Ainsley Harriott and he's now spoken out to claim a sex and alcohol ban imposed on him by his professional partner may be to blame. Anthony revealed Oti told him he needed to ''slow down on the humping'' with his fiancee Casey Wicks if he wanted to take home the Glitterball trophy. But he's now claimed he thinks sex bans are ''questionable'' as he's performed better in the boxing ring in...

Strictly Come Dancing star Natalie Lowe announces engagement
Strictly Come Dancing's Natalie Lowe has announced that she is engaged.

The professional dancer will tie the knot with company director James Knibbs, and told Hello! that she is "very excited, happy and proud".

Natalie is currently competing in this series of Strictly Come Dancing, and is paired with Ainsley Harriott.

The couple found themselves in the bottom two in yesterday's show, but survived the dance-off against Anthony Ogogo and Oti Mabuse.

Natalie only had good things to say about Ainsley, calling him "full of beans".

"He is 58 - the oldest in the competition - but he's given the young 'uns a run for their money," she said.

Strictly Come Dancing airs next weekend on Saturday, October 17 at 6.30pm and Sunday, October 18 at 7.15pm on BBC One.

Anthony Ogogo became the second celebrity to be eliminated this series, alongside professional dancer Oti Mabuse.

Following his exit, he admitted that he found it difficult to compete against those with previous dance experience.

"Other people will get their dance, be it paso or foxtrot or whatever they've got to do, and a lot of the guys who have danced before, all they've really got to do is learn the routine," he said.

Strictly Come Dancing airs next weekend on Saturday, October 17 at 6.30pm and Sunday, October 18 at 7.15pm on BBC One.

Anthony Ogogo surprised by his Strictly Come Dancing pairing
Anthony Ogogo has accused 'Strictly Come Dancing' of pairing him with Oti Mabuse because he's ''mixed race''. The Olympic boxer became the second contestant to leave the celebrity dance contest last night after he lost the dance off to chef Ainsley Harriott and he's now spoken of his surprise at being paired with the only ''black'' professional. He said: ''I did not think that the BBC would put us together because we're black or mixed race. I honestly thought they would spread the minorities around.'' The 26-year-old hunk - who admitted he was ''gutted'' to leave the competition at such an early stage...

Strictly Come Dancing: Anthony Ogogo and Oti Mabuse are the second couple to exit
Anthony Ogogo and his professional partner Oti Mabuse have become the second couple to be eliminated from Strictly Come Dancing.

The pair found themselves in the dance-off against Ainsley Harriott and Natalie Lowe, after the judges' scores were combined with the viewers' votes.

Strictly Come Dancing Week Three: All the scores and judges' comments

Ogogo and Mabuse performed their paso doble to 'Eye of the Tiger' from Rocky 3, and Harriott and Lowe cha-cha'd to 'Boogie Wonderland' from Happy Feet.

Craig Revel Horwood, Darcey Bussell and Bruno Tonioli all voted to save Harriott and Lowe, sending Ogogo and Mabuse home.

Head judge Len Goodman said he agreed with his fellow judges' decision.

Strictly Come Dancing 2015 live blog: Week Three as it happened

After his elimination, Ogogo stated that his time on the show had been "brilliant" and praised his partner.

"I want to thank Oti, she has been amazing,...

Strictly Come Dancing's Anthony Ogogo: 'I'll take on Len, Bruno and Craig in the ring'
Anthony Ogogo has come out swinging after his exit from Strictly Come Dancing.

The boxer says that he believes the judges all scored him harshly and that, apart from Darcey Bussell, they didn't say goodbye after his exit.

"I do think the judges were quite critical of me. From the first week, I think I was scored quite harshly," he said.

Ogogo added that he felt, despite working with professional partner Oti Mabuse on righting previous errors, the judges never highlighted his improvements and just found more things to criticise.

"In my opinion, when other dancers weren't as technically brilliant as Helen George or Jay McGuiness, they'd attack it with strength, power, energy and enthusiasm," he said. "They were getting, 'Well done, it was good, you brought the energy'.

"Whereas if I did the same thing it was, 'Your feet weren't good enough, your hands are wrong and your arms are wrong'.

Strictly Come Dancing's Anthony Ogogo: 'It's very, very hard to compete with people with dance experience'
Anthony Ogogo believes he had one major disadvantage in Strictly Come Dancing.

The boxer, who became the second celebrity to leave this series, reckons he was not the "worst in the competition" but admitted he found it tough to compete against those with dance experience.

"I think when you're up against Jay McGuiness who's done ballet, and Helen George who's done ballet, and Peter Andre who's been a popstar, it's very, very hard to compete with those guys," he explained.

"People want to see entertaining dancers, people want to see people doing well, but I think people also like to see a good journey and I think each dance I have got better.

"By week five, week six, people would have been able to appreciate the full journey from never dancing before, week one doing a jive, to week six doing whatever I was going to do."

Ogogo added that...

Anthony Ogogo wasn't very happy about having to dance to Rocky on Strictly
Anthony Ogogo has been eliminated from Strictly Come Dancing - and the boxer reckons his exit may have been influenced by bad song choices.

Ogogo and his partner Oti Mabuse danced the Paso Doble to 'Eye of the Tiger' from Rocky last night, but Ogogo tells Digital Spy that he wasn't too impressed with the production's decision.

"I actually had a feeling that yesterday's song choice wasn't the best," he said. "I'm a boxer, it's Movie Week, let's do Rocky – I do get it.

"But at 6.30 on a Saturday evening, it's a family show and there's me with a sour face in front of the camera. It looks quite aggressive. But that's the routine the production wanted us to have.

"I'm a big James Bond fan, I'd have much rather have done a James Bond number or a Disney number, something family-orientated. But production were very adamant that I had to do this.
