‘Twinless’ Trailer: Dylan O’Brien and James Sweeney Become Chosen Brothers in Family Dramedy
Image
Roadside Attractions has released the first trailer for “Twinless,” the Audience Award-winning dark comedy from James Sweeney that debuted at the 2025 Sundance Film Festival.

The movie stars Sweeney alongside Dylan O’Brien as two young men who meet at a twin bereavement support group and forge an unlikely friendship. Each finds that the other fills their missing half, and they become inseparable. However, as the friendship expands, it becomes evident that both are holding secrets, some of them dark and dangerous. It is a story about identity, grief and the strange nature of friendship.

A writer, director, producer and actor, Sweeney came to prominence with his debut feature, “Straight Up,” which premiered at Outfest in 2019 and received a limited theatrical release from Strand Releasing in 2020. His singular brand of queer comedy is both sweet and intense, with relatable characters and unexpected twists.

Republic Pictures developed “Twinless” with Sweeney and David Permut serving as producers.

O’Brien plays identical brothers, one of whom meets Sweeney’s character in a support group for people who lost a twin. Aisling Franciosi, Lauren Graham, Tasha Smith, Chris Perfetti, François Arnaud, Susan Park and Cree Cicchino round out the cast.

Twinless (2025) Movie Review: Dylan O’Brien is excellent in a darkly comical look at co-dependency
James Sweeney
Urban loneliness is strange. Despite being surrounded by people who could potentially make our empty lives whole, most of us are stuck dining alone. We are so incredibly awkward about our need for people that when we get a glimmer of hope in finding someone, we cannot refocus our gaze on anything else. In James Sweeney’s “Twinless,” two men bond with each other after meeting at a bereavement group that is catered to people who have lost their twins – both of them craving for the oneness in someone who is an exact copy of them – someone who understands the DNA that propels them to be who they are.

Dylan O’Brien plays the first set of twins Rocky and Roman. The narrative is focused on Roman – a big-old softy who is intellectually challenged and gets on the edge when pushed to see just how transparent his personality is. Rocky’s...

Sundance Pulls ‘Twinless’ From Digital Platform After Major Online Leaks, Including Dylan O’Brien Sex Scenes
Image
“Twinless,” a comedic drama starring Dylan O’Brien, has been pulled from Sundance’s streaming site after sex scenes and other content from the film leaked online. The leaks came as “Twinless” won the festival’s coveted Audience Award on Friday.

It’s the second movie to be pulled from Sundance’s site this year. “Selena y Los Dinos,” a documentary about Tejano singer Selena, was also scrubbed from the service after the film “suffered a series of copyright infringements,” meaning it also leaked online. There were reports that fans were putting various musical numbers from “Selena y Los Dinos” on TikTok and Instagram.

“The film ‘Twinless’ was a victim of some copyright infringement on various social media platforms, therefore the festival in partnership with the filmmakers have made the decision to remove the film from the Sundance Film Festival online platform. “Snowpiercer” Season 4 Moving to AMC for Early 2025 Premiere
Image
TNT‘s series adaptation of Bong Joon Ho’s “Snowpiercer” (which was based on the French graphic novel Le Transperceneige by Jacques Lob) kicked off back in 2020, with three seasons aired between 2020 and 2022. Season 4 has already been filmed, but it won’t be airing on TNT. As we learned last year, TNT made the decision to cut ties with the brand entirely.

The good news? The upcoming season has been given a second chance at life.

Variety reports this afternoon that “Snowpiercer” Season 4 has been acquired by AMC – along with the previous three seasons – and it’ll finally premiere on AMC in early 2025.

Variety notes, “It had already been announced Season 4 would be the show’s last before TNT parent company Warner Bros. Discovery decided to not air Season 4 altogether in a cost-cutting move. Producer Tomorrow Studios then shopped the show to other outlets.”

“’Snowpiercer’ is an edge-of-your-seat thrill ride...

The 10 Worst Betrayals In A TV Show, According To Reddit
Image
Over 10 years after Game of Thrones' HBO debut, fans are still devastated over Lord Peytr "Littlefinger" Baelish (Aiden Gillen) betrayal of House Stark lord Eddard "Ned" Stark" (Sean Bean) to appease Cersei Lannister (Lena Headey). The honorable Ned was sold out for wanting to fight for the truth, which would lead to his false execution ordered by King Joffrey Baratheon (Jack Gleeson).

Whether it was by old friends, lovers, or even family, there have been some downright horrible betrayals on the biggest TV shows in pop culture. Users of Reddit have voiced which television betrayals hurt the most.

‘Shining Vale’ Sends Courteney Cox Down a Haunted Rabbit Hole as Funny as It Is Chilling: TV Review
Image
The blunt opening title card of “Shining Vale” feels like a test: “Women are twice as likely as men to suffer from depression,” it reads, seeming to signal the beginning of a clunky show about Women and Depression — at least until the next sentence appears onscreen. “Women are also twice as likely to be possessed by a demon,” it says, a immediate and deliberate wink of self-awareness at an audience that might’ve already tried to write the show off. What’s more, it adds: “the symptoms are the same.”

Throughout the first seven episodes made available for critics (the season will have eight in total), “Shining Vale” follows a Brooklyn family coming to grips with the inherent strangeness of their new Connecticut home to increasingly catastrophic ends. It also ends up juggling so many tricky narrative plates — depression, generational trauma, the slow and steady awakening of a haunted house...

Snowpiercer Series Recap: “Old Ways, Old Wars” & “994 Cars Long” (Episodes 9 & 10)
Image
We made it, everyone! We’re finally at the two-part season one finale of Snowpiercer, which combines episode 9, “The Train Demanded Blood,” and episode 10, “994 Cars Long,” into one super-sized television event that will wrap up several of the first season’s storylines and move things forward for the upcoming season two (which had already been greenlit even before season one aired a single episode). So, let’s not waste any more time and get right into all the nitty gritty, because there’s a lot to go over and analyze from these final two hours from the first season.

For “Old Ways, Old Wars”, we start off with Melanie (Jennifer Connelly) in shackles alongside other prisoners in a waiting room, as they’re due to be executed for their crimes committed against Snowpiercer. We watch as Walter the Papermaker (Gary Hetherington) is brought into the holding area rather hastily and...

Snowpiercer Series Recap: “These Are His Revolutions” (Episode 8)
Image
This week’s episode of Snowpiercer is all about conflict, as revolution has finally arrived but we also see several other characters at odds beyond Layton (Daveed Diggs) and company waging their class warfare on those who wield more power and influence over the titular train.

Before we get into the revolution business at hand, let’s dive into all the other happenings going on in “These Are His Revolutions.” After her meeting with Commander Grey (Timothy V. Murphy) and the Folgers, Ruth (Alison Wright) finds herself front and center of a coup in First Class, as the elite passengers on Snowpiercer want to get to the bottom of just who exactly is running the train – Mr. Wilford or Melanie Cavill (Jennifer Connelly), who just happens to always have a means of covering up the fact that the leader and creator of Snowpiercer isn’t actually aboard the train. The jig is up now,...

‘Room 104′ Season 4 Trailer: Duplass Brothers’ HBO Anthology Returns for Final Season — Exclusive
Image
It’s almost time for one last check-in to “Room 104.” Mark and Jay Duplass’ ethereal HBO anthology series will premiere its fourth and final season on July 24 and IndieWire is exclusively premiering the season’s first trailer.

The half-hour episodes, which hail from the “Togetherness” creators and centers on various travelers who pass through a room in a typical American chain motel, have been compared to “The Twilight Zone” for their deft blend of surreality, horror, and surprises. The series’ new trailer promises to explore a dizzying range of genres and characters for the series’ send-off and even teases a glimpse at the season’s original songs, one of which will be performed by Duplass.

Per HBO, Season 4 will also include the series’ first-ever animated episode, and the premiere entry will mark the first time that Mark Duplass stars, writes, directs, and performs original music for the series. Stories...

Snowpiercer Series Recap: “Without Their Maker” & “Justice Never Boarded” (Episodes 4 & 5)
Image
Hello, everyone. Last week, I had to take a few days off to deal with some personal stuff, but I’m back now with my latest recap for TNT’s Snowpiercer series that digs into episodes 4 and 5, where we see the culmination of the murder mystery aboard the titular train, as well as the resulting actions and fallout from everything that follows once the killers and their motives are revealed. Oh, and there’s a whole lot more happening as well.

Now, on to the good stuff…

In “Without Their Maker,” the theme of episode four is spelled out rather simply: systems resist change without their maker, which of course is in relation to the fact that Mr. Wilford is more myth than man after seven years aboard the Snowpiercer. And with Nikki now brutally murdered, Layton (Daveed Diggs) sets out to find the killer that must be a First Class passenger,...

Snowpiercer Episode 5 Review: Justice Never Boarded
Image
This Snowpiercer review contains spoilers.

Snowpiercer Episode 5

In the film Demolition Man, when someone was sentenced to a cryogenic freeze, they were essentially stored away in a block of ice, being force-fed skills by the computer that were designed to give them something useful to do with their talents upon entering society again. For someone like John Spartan, his new little skill was the ability to knit, which he uses as an apology to Huxley after offending her during a Vr session gone wrong. However, one of the side effects of cryogenic freezing, which Spartan wasn’t supposed to have, were nightmares. Specifically, in Spartan’s case, he was thinking about his wife beating against the block of ice that used to be her husband.

Similarly, offenders sentenced to a stay in the Drawers on Snowpiercer aren’t given skills to use when they come back, but they’re supposed...

Snowpiercer Episode 3 Review: Access is Power
Image
This Snowpiercer review contains spoilers.

Snowpiercer Episode 3

One of the smartest things Snowpiercer has done with its first season is, as characters gain prominence in the story, offer up some cold openings. In this case, Dr. Klimpt (Happy Anderson) is the one discussing how the economy of Snowpiercer functions. Not the buy-ins of the first class passengers, but the real economy that shuttles drugs from third class to first class and back again, trading drugs for gold for sex for the most important thing of all, access.

All things that people kill, and have been killed for, on a train that’s 1,001 cars long. It’s exposition, and it’s needed exposition for the world the show is building, but by and large it’s been done stylishly and provides a bit of insight into the character giving the explanation that is necessary to flesh out secondary characters like the good doctor.

Snowpiercer Episode 2 Review: Prepare to Brace
Image
This Snowpiercer review contains spoilers.

Snowpiercer Episode 2

In the first episode of Snowpiercer, an off-handed comment was made about a particular smoked salmon sushi roll. The problem wasn’t with no more salmon, the problem was no more wood chips for the smoker. Both Susan Park’s Jinju and Jennifer Connelly’s Melanie laugh that off, but it’s a sign that should be familiar to people currently weathering resource scarcity during lock down.

With Covid-19, it’s a problem with the supply chain. We have food and paper mills and whatnot, but the processing shift from commercial demand to consumer demand isn’t easy, especially given consumer preferences for pretty produce and two-ply toilet paper that doesn’t come in 20-pound rolls. Product is there, but transportation and processing for consumer use isn’t. On Snowpiercer, the supply chain is efficiently waiting, but the product itself may not always be there,...
