The new comedy, created and executive produced by Chuck Lorre, Steven Molaro, and Steve Holland, expands the universe of The Big Bang Theory and Young Sheldon.

“With the resounding success of The Big Bang Theory and Young Sheldon, we were instantly on board when Chuck, Steven, and Steve brought us the idea to further explore this world through Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage,” said Amy Reisenbach, president of CBS Entertainment.

The premiere episode of “Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage” secured 10.6 million multiplatform viewers in its first seven days, according to VideoAmp and internal data from Paramount+. That’s even more viewers than the final season premiere for “Young Sheldon.” Streaming for this new comedy across Paramount+, CBS.com and the CBS App was up 72% compared to the Season 7 debut of “Young Sheldon,” based on average minute audience metrics.

The second episode of the Montana Jordan and Emily Osment-led sitcom averaged 6.40 million total viewers, retaining almost all of its premiere viewership, which scored 6.56 million viewers, according to Nielsen live-plus-same-day ratings provided to Wbtv (CBS and Nielsen are currently in the midst of a contract dispute).

The network has released the title, synopsis, and photos from the first episode to give us an idea of what's to come. In “The 6:10 to Lubbock," the two titular characters "get fed up" with their living situation at Mandy's parents home and may be thinking of moving out after "a fight with Mandy's mom, Audrey," per the synopsis.

We already know how Mandy (Emily Osment) and Audrey (Rachel Bay Jones) definitely butt heads a lot.

The ensemble cast of the upcoming Georgie & Mandy's First Marriage already includes Rachel Bay Jones and Will Sasso as Mandy's parents. It is also set to feature cameos from Young Sheldon stars Annie Potts, Raegan Revord, and Zoe Perry.

CBS’ Young Sheldon spinoff Georgie and Mandy’s First Marriage has cast Jessie Prez and Dougie Baldwin in series regular roles.

The series follows Georgie (Montana Jordan) and Mandy (Emily Osment) as they raise their young family in Texas while navigating the challenges of adulthood, parenting and marriage.

Prez is Ruben, a long-time employee at McAllister’s tire store who’s less than enthusiastic about the shop’s newest hire, Jim’s son-in-law, Georgie. Baldwin is Connor McAllister, Mandy’s younger brother, a talented oddball with musical prowess who still lives with his parents. Coddled by his mother, Audrey (Rachel Bay Jones), and hassled by his father, Jim (Will Sasso), Connor doesn’t fit in even in his own family.

Chuck Lorre, Steven Molaro and Steve Holland will serve as executive producers of the series, from Chuck Lorre Productions, Inc. in association with Warner Bros. Television.

Mandy McAllister’s younger brother will look a little different when he resurfaces on Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage.

The Young Sheldon spinoff has cast Dougie Baldwin (Disjointed) in the series-regular role of Connor, TVLine has learned. He succeeds Joseph Apollonio, who originated the role of Mandy’s sib in a Season 6 episode of the Big Bang Theory prequel.

Deep Woods, the first feature from writer/director Steve Laughlin, begins in quite a different location, the opulent chrome and glass offices of the architectural firm owned by Ty Ellsworth. Ty has, seemingly out of the blue, got in touch with his college buddy Nick and suggested a hunting trip. Ty wants to “experience nature before it’s paved over” and since Nick is both Native American and a game warden, who better to go with?

For the film’s first half hour, Laughlin gives us a contrast between the world Ty knows and the rural, backwoods area Nick lives in. A tribal dance, talk of wendigos, a run-in with some loggers at a bar and of course, warnings from Sheriff Hadden to stay on the trails once they’re in the woods.
