Prue Leith is setting the record straight when it comes to speculation about her future with The Great British Baking Show. The South African-British restaurateur joined the popular competition series in March 2017, replacing Mary Berry, after the show changed broadcasters in the UK. She has served as a judge alongside Paul Hollywood for the past eight seasons, including the celebrity spinoffs. In the recent Stand Up To Cancer special, Caroline Waldegrave, the managing director of Leiths School of Food and Wine, stepped in to place Leith. Reports followed that chef Cherish Finden will serve as a judge on next year’s special, taking over from Leith. The popular TV star, who turned 85 in February, also...

British royal family news reveals that Meghan Sussex of Markle’s Netflix show, With Love, Meghan, has been roundly savaged after it’s March premiere.
The cookery/lifestyle series showed Meghan hosting B-listers and offering up bizarre hosting tips such as tricking guests with cheap pretzels.
Netflix airs the remaining shows this fall. Will anyone be watching?
Not judging by the harsh and unforgiving reviews by social media and critics alike: UK’s cooking goddess Mary Berry panned the desperation show and an Irish priest suggested it be watched as a form of penance.
Meghan’s Wlm Series Rejected
The show was ripped as being out of touch, and endless memes and TikToks roasted Meghan’s on-screen demeanor which included being rude to Mindy Kaling for daring to call her by her given name. Yep, Meghan Markled herself by demanding to be called Meghan Sussex. The assimilation is real.

PBS viewers will be able to celebrate the holidays with Mary Berry tonight, Monday, December 18, with her new show, Mary Berry’s Highland Christmas, which will see the beloved baker traveling to her mother’s homeland of Scotland for a magical winter break. The special comes amid Berry’s recovery from hip surgery, which she underwent in 2021 following a fall in her garden where she broke her hip. After 10 nights in hospital, The Great British Bake Off alum returned home and was forced to take things slow. “That was hard for me,” she told the U.K.’s Mirror last year. “I remember the doctor telling me that the recovery would take around a year and a half, and I thought, ‘Not for me!’ But he’s right – I still have quite a way to go before I’m fully healed. It will be a little while longer, but I’m getting there.

Paddy McGuinness has opened up about the advice shared with him by his Top Gear co-host Freddie Flintoff before taking on his role presenting A Question of Sport.
In 2021, the comedian took over as the host of the BBC quiz show following the controversial departure of long-standing presenter Sue Barker.
Appearing on the Monday Mile podcast with snowboarder Amy Fuller, McGuinness spoke about the “pressure” of the job, which he said he “felt more” than with Top Gear.
“I remember Freddie, when I got the job, he rang me up and he said, ‘Oh God, be careful’... We were talking about how it can be talked about online and stuff,’” he recalled, during a hike with Fuller.
“He said he stood in on a sports breakfast show... for a month and he said the abuse he got. He said, ‘I’m an ex-sports person, Ashes and all that, and even I got abuse!

Obi-Wan Kenobi makes a surprise return thanks to Ewan McGregor. Last year, McGregor played his character for the first time in 17 years in the Disney+ show Obi-Wan Kenobi, aside from a couple of voice cameos in the Star Wars sequel trilogy. Along with Hayden Christensen returning as Darth Vader, the show gave audiences a look at the (former) Jedi Knight’s life before the original trilogy.
Recently, McGregor reprised his role for a Comic Relief sketch based on the reality show The Traitors. While the original video, shared by Comic Relief: Red Nose Day, isn't available to watch in the U.S., the Twitter account All Things Kenobi posted most of the sketch.

Dawn French was unrecognisable (sort of) as Claudia Winkleman in BBC One’s parody of The Traitors for Comic Relief.
The Vicar of Dibley star donned Winkleman’s trademark black fringe for the sketch as well as one of the star’s giant roll-neck jumpers that gradually enveloped her whole face.
“I’m actually Claudia Winkleman: half woman, half fringe,” French tells the contestants.
“It feels like it’s time to have a discussion,” she continues. “And during that discussion I will be walking round this table incessantly saying creepy stuff and looking absolutely gorgeous.”
In one scene, French parts her fringe using a curtain pulley.
The “contestants” included Alison Hammond, who was just confirmed as Matt Lucas’s replacement on The Great British Bake Off, Ewan McGregor as Obi-Wan Kenobi, Mary Berry, Stephen Merchant, Danny Dyer, Jennifer Saunders and two actual Traitors contestants from season one.

Gethin Jones wept on BBC One’s Morning Live today (17 March) as he neared the end of a 24-hour dancing challenge for Red Nose Day.

At the end of the 24 hours, it was revealed on the show that Jones had raised more than £900,000.
At one point during the challenge, he was shown crying with joy at how much he had raised.
Over on BBC Breakfast, clips were shown of Jones dancing throughout the morning, with the presenter so exhausted he was unable to speak. He managed to give a thumbs up to camera at one point, while bobbing up and down on the spot.
Countryfile star Helen Skelton briefly danced next to him, telling viewers he was a “broken” man.

Gary Lineker has been a major topic of discussion for days, following his tweet in response to Suella Braverman’s immigration bill.
Last week, the government announced a new policy to halt small boat crossings. It will result in the deportation of asylum seekers who arrive via boat to Rwanda or another “safe third country” without hearing their asylum claim.
Reacting to the news, Lineker expressed his distaste for the decision and responded to someone who pushed back on his view on Twitter.
He wrote: “There is no huge influx. We take far fewer refugees than other major European countries.
“This is just an immeasurably cruel policy directed at the most vulnerable people in language that is not dissimilar to that used by Germany in the 30s, and I’m out of order?”

Princess Charlotte stole the show at the Westminster Abbey Carol Concert with her “sweet” reaction to an appearance by Paddington star Hugh Bonneville.
Recorded earlier this month and broadcast on Christmas Eve, the Together at Christmas service saw the Cambridge family come together for the event, which was hosted by the Princess of Wales.
The Prince of Wales and Prince George were also in attendance at the ceremony, which was filmed earlier this month.
As part of the celebrations, Hugh Bonneville, who plays Mr Brown in the Paddington films, did a reading in tribute to the late Queen Elizabeth II.
As the announcement was made that Bonneville would be reading “a Christmas letter from Paddington Bear”, Charlotte, seven, was seen excitedly speaking to her mother Kate Middleton and grinning.
The clip was shared on Twitter, with viewers commenting on Charlotte’s excitement.
“Princess Charlotte’s excitement when she heard the words ‘Paddington Bear’ was priceless!

Dish, the hit podcast hosted by Nick Grimshaw and Angela Hartnett, will be getting extra social for the festive season as the presenting duo escape the studio and cosy up at Grimmy’s own home, where some special guests have been invited round for Christmas food, drink and laughs.

Dish takes a pioneering approach to turning podcasts into a social event: it’s recorded like a podcast, shot for Instagram and edited for TikTok. As a result, it’s had 20 weeks at number one on Apple’s food podcast chart and is regularly in the top 20 Apple shows.

Sigourney Weaver has revealed that she enjoys spending her downtime watching The Great British Bake Off with her husband.
The Alien actor cited her half-English roots in a new interview and said that she was “terribly proud” to see the display of British diversity in the show.
“The contestants are all so supportive and nice to each other,” the 73-year-old explained. “So hard-working and they come from such different backgrounds.”
Weaver, whose most recent role is in the forthcoming Avatar: The Way of Water, explained that seeing contestants who are from many different places resonated with her.
She told Radio Times: “It’s very inspiring because right now America is so polarised, there is so much resentment and fear of immigration.”
Weaver’s mother was the English actor Elizabeth Inglis, who appeared in The 39 Steps and The Letter. Weaver has spoken about her love for England before, explaining that...

Matt Lucas’ time in the tent is over.
The Little Britain star announced Tuesday (6 December) that he was stepping down as one half of the hosting team on Channel 4’s The Great British Bake Off.
While fans have expressed their sadness at the comedian’s decision to move on, it does mean the door is open for another presenter to take on one of the most coveted jobs in television.
Whoever is chosen will join The Mighty Boosh star Noel Fielding – who has hosted the show since it moved to Channel 4 in 2017 – succeeding his past co-presenters Sandi Toksvig and Lucas.
Below, we’ve rounded up some of the most likely replacements for Lucas as well as some who we just think have what it takes to make the tent hum with amusement.
Richard Ayoade

Sugar and flour-dusted friends, all is not well in the world of baking. Like Ian Watters' Baked Alaska sailing into the bin in 2014, a host for "The Great British Baking Show" (aka "The Great British Bake Off" in the U.K.) is leaving the tent. Matt Lucas, who has appeared alongside co-host Noel Fielding and judges Paul Hollywood and Prue Leith for three seasons, is leaving the reality series.
Lucas posted the news on Twitter (via TV Line) saying:
"xxx Farewell Bake Off! It's been a delicious experience and I can't imagine a more fun way of spending my summers, but it's become clear to me that I can't present both 'Fantasy Football League' and 'Bake Off' alongside all my other projects. So, after three series and 51 episodes, I am cheerfully passing the baguette on to someone else. I would like to give my warmest thanks and gratitude to everyone...

“Bake Off” is losing one of the ingredients in its recipe. Matt Lucas, who hosted the British baking competition series for three series, announced December 6 that the recently concluded 13th series will be his last.
“Farewell Bake Off!” Lucas said in a statement posted to Instagram. “It’s been a delicious experience and I can’t imagine a more fun way of spending my summers, but it’s become clear to me that I can’t present both ‘Fantasy Football League’ and ‘Bake Off’ alongside all my other projects. Fans of The Great British Baking Show think the rigid time limits on the latest seasons are too severe. Each week, judges Paul Hollywood and Prue Leith challenge the cast of home bakers with three rounds to test baking knowledge, decorative skills, and overall creativity. Each round is timed, with the limit usually around two to three hours in total. Once the time is up, bakers must immediately step away from their creations and cannot add or fix any elements before judging.
Gbbs fans have been critical of the challenges in the new season already, and the time restrictions add another layer of concern for longtime fans of the show. Contestant Kevin Flynn from Twitter commented on the timed component of the show and how it affects the bakers, responding to another tweet displaying his repertoire of impressive bakes. "Aw shucks. Welp... just shows what ye can do without the time pressure,...

The Great British Baking Show season 13 is currently underway, and fans are already critical of the different challenges this year. Amidst format changes, the swapping out of hosts and judges, and countless different bakers entering the tent over the years, The Great British Baking Show has retained its popularity both in its home country and North America. Each week hosts Noel Fielding and Matt Lucas task the cast of home bakers with three rounds of challenges, each of which is judged by veteran bakers Paul Hollywood and Prue Leith. The challenges coincide with the week's given theme, from enduring classics like Bread Week to newer installments like Halloween Week.
Many fans are critical of the challenges assigned to the bakers on The Great British Baking Show season 13, bringing attention to some dishes that have been inaccurately described by the judges; plus, the level of difficulty on Gbbs has become too high for the bakers.
