With every passing day, we are moving one step closer to John Cena‘s retirement from the WWE, which is coming over two decades after he first signed with the company. The retirement means Cena can give his full attention to Hollywood, and it looks like he is already making all the right choices, especially considering his next move.
According to a report by Deadline, Cena and Kevin Hart are all set to star in an action comedy titled ‘The Leading Man’. Writers Jon and Erich Hoeber have pitched the idea to Netflix, which has supposedly impressed the streaming giant.
There is no denying that Cena and comedy go together like peanut butter and jelly. Add Hart to the mix and you’ve got yourself the perfect formula for a big hit. Just ask Dwayne Johnson. Whether it’s ‘Central Intelligence’ or the ‘Jumanji’ films, a collaboration with Hart can be gold if done right.

After years of being out of Marvel’s grasp, the Fantastic Four has finally, officially and fully, joined the Marvel Cinematic Universe with The Fantastic Four: First Steps – and to celebrate, we have decided to look back at the other Fantastic Four movies that have been made to put together a list of Fantastic Four Movies Ranked. Here we go, from worst to best:
Fantastic Four (2015)
The ‘94 film is the one executives tried to bury, but the making of the 2015 Fantastic Four was such a horrible mess, maybe Fox should have just scrapped it and used it for a $120 million tax write-off, Warner Bros. style. The differing opinions behind the scenes are apparent in the finished movie, where the more traditional comic book movie sensibilities of screenwriter Jeremy Slater and writer/producer Simon Kinberg come through in the first half, while director Josh Trank’s wrong-headed attempt to turn the...

Looney fans, it’s finally happening. Ketchup previously let it be known that they’ll be giving Coyote vs. Acme a theatrical release sometime in 2026, and now more information has been revealed at a San Diego Comic-Con panel – including the fact that the movie’s release is still over a year away! The official global release date is August 28, 2026.
Now, JustJared has passed along the teaser poster that’s been unveiled for Coyote vs. Acme. The image is simple, but iconic. We’re shown the desert ground with a Wile E. Coyote-shaped hole crashed into it. It harkens back to the famous Merry Melodies cartoon shorts when the Coyote pursued the Road Runner and failed at every turn. There is very little text displayed, with the release date teased and proudly stating, “In theaters.” Check it out below!

Mortal Kombat director Simon McQuoid is back at the helm for the sequel Mortal Kombat II, and while the video game adaptation wrapped production back in January of 2024 after a bumpy ride through the year of the strikes, they had to go back for some reshoots last summer. The movie will finally be making its way out into theatres on October 24th – and while we wait for our chance to see it, producer Todd Garner has confirmed that he’s keeping his fingers crossed, hoping for the chance to make more sequels.
Mortal Kombat II stars returning Mortal Kombat cast members Lewis Tan as Mma fighter Cole Young, Ludi Lin as Liu Kang, Jessica McNamee as Sonya Blade, Josh Lawson as Kano, Tadanobu Asano as Lord Raiden, Mehcad Brooks as Jax, Chin Han as Shang Tsung, Joe Taslim as Bi-Han and Sub-Zero, Hiroyuki Sanada as Hanzo Hasashi and Scorpion, and Max Huang as Kung Lao.

As Marvel finds box office success with The Fantastic Four: First Steps, we take a look back at the 2015 film’s difficult production.
On the 6th August 2015, director Josh Trank dropped a bombshell. It was the day before the release of his comic book movie, Fantastic Four, but the filmmaker wasn’t in a celebratory mood.
“A year ago,” Trank wrote on Twitter, “I had a fantastic version of this. And it would have received great reviews. You’ll probably never see it. That’s reality though.”
It was the moment when the darkening mood behind the scenes burst into public view. Although anonymous stories about Fantastic Four’s troubled production had emerged in Hollywood outlets months earlier, Trank’s tweet was unprecedented – it was swiftly deleted, probably following irate calls from 20th Century Fox, but the damage was done. One analyst told TheWrap at the time that Trank’s...

Coyote vs. Acme is officially back from the dead, and it’s heading to theaters around the world on August 28, 2026. The announcement came during a lively panel at San Diego Comic-Con, where cast and crew celebrated the movie’s surprising return.
The hybrid live-action and animation film, originally made by Warner Bros., was shelved in 2023 as part of a tax write-off move. It seemed like the movie would never see the light of day. But that changed when Ketchup Entertainment stepped in and bought the worldwide rights for around $50 million.
The company had also rescued another abandoned Looney Tunes film, The Day the Earth Blew Up, which ended up making over $15 million worldwide.
Paul Scheer, who hosted the Comic-Con panel, poked fun at the movie’s rocky journey. “This movie wasn’t supposed to come out,” he said. “I heard Warner Bros wouldn’t release the film — I’ve never heard of Warner Bros!

Everyone thought it was dead. It’s been a couple of years since the world learned that Warner Bros. scrapped the “Coyote Vs. Acme” film after rave reviews from those who got to see the screening.
The corporation did this to claim a $30 million tax write-off, and fans were salty.
Now it’s back!
“Coyote vs. Acme” has been saved from the bin, and the movie will release to theaters on August 28, 2026, thanks to Ketchup Entertainment, which acquired the rights in March 2024.
Guests at San Diego Comic-Con (Sdcc) got to partake in a preview of the film and a panel featuring Will Forte, who plays Attorney Kevin Avery.
Forte is amazed by the film’s resurrection, and he let the crowd know, saying,

"Black Panther" was praised for a number of reasons when it was released, but perhaps the film's biggest highlight was just how much of a big bad, Michael B. Jordan's Killmonger was. The ostracized Wakandan who returned home with different plans for the nation's future was one of those rare and wonderful things that only great stories have — a villain you could relate to.
But while Coogler's comic book movie was breaking new ground, another Marvel story that was in development was concerned about retreading over old turf. In an interview with ComicBook, "Moon Knight" showrunner Jeremy Slater explained that they originally had a different bad guy mapped out to take on the Fist of Khonshu, but had to mix things up when the long-lost member of the Panther tribe appeared on the scene.
"The problem we kept running into was 'Black Panther' had just come out and Michael B.

"Coyote Vs. Acme" will finally make it to big screens worldwide on August 28, 2026! The release date was confirmed at a "Coyote vs Acme" panel at 2025 San Diego Comic-Con, where a sneak peek of the movie and a teaser trailer was screened (despite the Acme Corporation's best efforts to prevent it). For "Looney Tunes" fans who once feared they'd never be able to see the movie, another year-ish is no wait at all.
The saga of "Coyote Vs. Acme" has gone on as long — and with as many back and forth moves — as a genuine case of litigation. Like the titular coyote himself, the movie kept getting back up. Unlike Mr. Coyote, the movie is coming out on top.
"Coyote Vs. Acme" was directed by Dave Green ("Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows") and written by Samy Burch ("May December"), with "story by" credits from Burch, James Gunn, and Jeremy Slater.

David Zaslav may be hellbent on erasing the iconic Looney Tunes properties at Warner Bros. After a very bumpy road, Coyote vs. Acme’s team took to San Diego Comic-Con to celebrate the movie finally heading to the big screen and announce its forthcoming release date.
“I’m pretty speechless,” Will Forte told the crowd about the movie landing a release from Ketchup Entertainment after being dropped by Warner Bros. “It blows my mind. You think back to the journey this movie has taken. I had kind of given up hope at a certain point, so this is amazing.”
The first footage from Coyote vs. Acme featured a montage of Wile E. Coyote’s failed attempts to thwart the Road Runner, which was set to Johnny Cash’s version of the Nine Inch Nails hit “Hurt.” Later, Wile E. Coyote happens to see a TV commercial from attorney Kevin Avery, as played by Forte.

Mortal Kombat fans are preparing for Round 2, as Mortal Kombat II is finally hitting the big screen this fall. A bloody red band trailer was just released for the movie, and it's already set an impressive record, hinting that there may be a strong turnout for the sequel in theaters.
Per Deadline, the new trailer for Mortal Kombat II reached 106.8M views worldwide within 24 hours of its launch, according to WaveMetrix data. This is the best-ever launch for a red band trailer, which is a trailer that includes R-rated content, allowing Mortal Kombat II to show off some of its bloodiest scenes. The YouTube video on the official Mortal Kombat channel has 1.6 million views, and the ratio is 77K likes with less than 4K dislikes, suggesting a very positive response to the trailer as well.
The trailer put a heavy focus on the arrival of Johnny Cage, the fan-favorite character from the video games.

Exclusive: It was clear back in the mid-1990s when New Line made the first adaptation of the Midway videogame, and it’s still evident today: There’s a massive appetite for Mortal Kombat. WaveMetrix data reports that the latest trailer for the Simon McQuoid sequel has notched 106.8M worldwide views in its first 24 hours after being dropped on Thursday, July 17 at 9Am Pst — the best ever for a red-band trailer. The previous McQuoid movie back in 2021 was also a red trailer record-breaker, clearing 116M views in its first week and besting the 4-day traffic of Logan and Deadpool 2.
Great views yield excellent box office. Despite a theatrical day and date release on HBO Max, Mortal Kombat opened to a robust $23.3M over April 23-25, 2021; that was about on par to the unadjusted 1995 opening of the first movie which did $23.2M.

One of the criticisms leveled against the 2021 film was the absence of the titular Mortal Kombat tournament. However, the sequel, which premieres on October 24, will be handling that problem efficiently. As teased in the recently released trailer for the film, the stage is set for a showdown between Earthrealm and Outworld, as their best fighters face off. Joining the ranks of Earthrealm fighters will be Hollywood star-turned-hero Johnny Cage, played by Karl Urban.
Cage was one of the glaring omissions from the 2021 reboot, and now, audiences get to see the Jean-Claude Van Damme-inspired hero taking on the fiercest of foes. Looking ahead to his character’s introduction, Urban reveals that his character will be a little different from what audiences are used to seeing. Speaking in an interview with IGN,...

Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige shared an official update about the future of Moon Knight and Eternals in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), and it's exciting. After the game-changing events of Avengers: Endgame, the McU's Phase 4 introduced more key heroes in the wider universe, such as Marc Spector (aka Moon Knight), who made his debut on Disney+ in March 2022, and a team of cosmic immortals known as Eternals, who made their presence felt on the big screen in November 2021. Despite the potential of both, official updates about these heroes have remained slim in the news mill.
While Moon Knight and the Eternals appeared in animated form in What If...? Season 3, these characters' live-action versions (aka the main Variants) have yet to show up again in the Multiverse Saga. In May 2025, Moon Knight creator Jeremy Slater acknowledged the character's absence, noting that fans should talk to Feige about the hero's next...

Mortal Kombat 2 is finally set to introduce Johnny Cage, but Karl Urban suggests that his character will be a little different from what audiences are used to seeing. Due to arrive in theaters on October 24, the latest adaptation of the hit video game franchise is poised to introduce several iconic franchise characters absent from 2021’s Mortal Kombat reboot.
Speaking with IGN, Urban revealed that when audiences first meet his version of the Mortal Kombat fighter Johnny Cage, he will be missing much of the brashness and “spark” that fans of the franchise are used to. Instead, viewers will find the former Hollywood action star at a low point in his career. Check out his comments below:
When we first discover Johnny, he is sort of lacking a lot of that quintessential spark that I think fans of the game will know.
We start him at a very low point.

It may have taken four years, but "Mortal Kombat II" is finally, nearly upon us. Warner Bros. and New Line released director Simon McQuoid's "Mortal Kombat" in 2021, serving as an R-rated take on the beloved series of video games. The studio quickly set about developing at least one sequel and now, we finally know what that's going to look like. It's going to have an actual tournament, a bunch of new characters, lots of blood, and, it seems, a new protagonist.
The first trailer for "Mortal Kombat II" only just debuted online, showcasing what McQuoid and screenwriter Jeremy Slater, of "Moon Knight" fame, have cooked up. It looks very much in line with what viewers could hope for, centering largely on actor-turned-world-saving-fighter Johnny Cage (with the fan-favorite character being played by Karl Urban of "The Boys" and "Lord of the Rings" fame). Mortal Kombat II marks the arrival of Karl Urban’s Johnny Cage into the rebooted movie franchise, and the character takes center stage in this first official trailer. 30 years ago, New Line Cinema and director Paul W.S. Anderson launched an unlikely film franchise with their adaptation of the Midway fighting video game "Mortal Kombat." Critics scoffed at the notion of making a feature-length movie out of source material in which the objective is for players to knock the snot out of each other until one falls prey to a gruesome "fatality." Even the game's creators were skeptical. But gamers who'd rejected 1993's "Super Mario Bros." and 1994's "Street Fighter" turned out in droves to see beloved characters like Liu Kang, Johnny Cage, and Sonya Blade do their fatal thing.
After the first film grossed $122 million worldwide on a $20 million budget, the "Mortal Kombat" cinematic universe was positioned for expansion. Then, New Line committed a self-fatality by foisting 1997's putrid "Mortal Kombat: Annihilation" on its just-acquired fanbase. Suddenly, interest in a third movie cratered, and the film series was...

The era of live-action adaptations has recently found new respect from fans, and the credit for this goes to Netflix’s One Piece live-action adaptation. The series portrayed the eccentric story of Monkey D. Luffy, who plans on becoming the King of Pirates, with his crew, as dangers and struggles often greet him on his journey through the seas.
One of the reasons that the live-action adaptation of One Piece was such a tremendous success was due to the actors who performed the roles of various characters from the series. Among them, Steven John Ward, the South African actor who plays Dracule Mihawk, was a special one because fans loved him in this role.
However, what many fans might not know is that Ward also wanted to be a part of another live-action adaptation by Netflix. This live-action is none other than the Death Note movie by the streaming platform,...

The first official poster and teaser for Mortal Kombat II are now online, with the full trailer set to arrive tomorrow.
The poster is just a redesigned take on the classic Mk dragon logo, but the teaser takes the form of a brilliantly cheesy and Ott faux trailer for Johnny Cage's (The Boys and Star Trek alum Karl Urban) latest movie, "Uncaged Fury."
The cocky Hollywood B-movie star turned heroic freedom fighter's debut was set up at the end of the first movie when Cole Young (Lewis Tan) told his fellow kombatants that he knew someone "out in LA" that could aid them in the impending rematch against the forces of Outworld.
"You finally get to see Johnny Cage," Mortal Kombat co-creator Ed Boon previously teased in a recent interview with EW. "His...

Mortal Kombat 2 is heading to theaters this year, but fans are still waiting for an official trailer. While the trailer for the film itself isn't dropping until July 17, an early teaser has been released, showcasing newcomer Karl Urban in his role as the fan-favorite fighter Johnny Cage.
The new teaser is a fake trailer for Uncaged Fury, a fictional farm starring Johnny Cage. Reminiscent of action hits of the 1990s, the faux trailer might spark memories of Jean-Claude Van Damme and Steven Seagal films of the era. The video also touches on Cage's other films, touting how the actor has also starred in Cool Hand Cage, Hard to Cage, and Rebel Without a Cage. Check out the teaser below, per IGN.

Although Mortal Kombat II isn't getting its first official trailer until tomorrow, Warner Bros. is hyping up viewers with a very different teaser for one of its stars' upcoming blockbusters. From New Line Cinema, the studio behind the very real smash hits Cool Hand Cage, Hard to Cage, and Rebel Without a Cage, comes the movie everyone has really been waiting for — Uncaged Fury, the latest revolutionary action flick from the Jean-Claude Van Damme-inspired icon, Johnny Cage. The video is just a taste of the high-octane martial arts that Karl Urban's Hollywood superstar is bringing to the table, filled with daring fight scenes, cool shades, and not enough guys to bring down the Cage. Just remember not to touch the sunglasses. Best of all, this can't-miss epic is coming to theaters this October when the video game adaptation sequel hits the big screen.

Nothing gets the blood pumping like a swift kick to the nostalgia bread basket, and today, Warner Bros. Pictures is unleashing Karl Urban’s Johnny Cage for a Mortal Kombat II teaser that hits the mark. Presented like a mixture of grindhouse and old-school martial arts action cinema, WB’s “Uncaged Fury” promo gets everything right about the classic Mk character’s heyday.
In the “Uncaged Fury” teaser trailer for Mortal Kombat II, Karl Urban plays Johnny Cage, the actor and martial artist who finds himself mixed up in Mortal Kombat, a tournament of champions fought between representatives of the Earthrealm (Earth) and the Outworld. Cage, alongside warriors like Raiden, Liu Kang, Sonya Blade, Jax, and Kung Lao, wages war against the evil Shang Tsung, a shape-shifting warlord hellbent on bringing Earthrealm to its knees and setting the demons of Outworld loose on humanity.
