‘Zombie Resurrection’ Review
Stars: Eric Colvin, Jim Sweeney, Danny Brown, Simon Burbage, Jade Colucci, Joe Rainbow, Rachel Nottingham, Shamiso Mushambi, Georgia Winters, Rupert Phelps | Written and Directed by Jake Hawkins, Andy Phelps

Opening with a fantastic animated title sequence which explains the basic plot – soldiers return home from war infected with zombie-like symptoms which quickly spreads through out the populace – Zombie Resurrection is a brand-new, very British, take on the cliched zombie apocalypse tale. This time with one major change… One of the zombies in this movie displays Jesus-like powers! Yes, when he touches other zombies they are miraculously returned to life. Is this zombie “saviour” the cure for the undead plague, or is he heralding the end of the world?

From the offset Zombie Resurrection lays it cards on the table – this is Not a film to be taken seriously; even if there are a number of scary scenes that rival those...

Stag Night of the Dead and Breaking All the Rules: A Movie Review
*a screener of this film was provided by Left Films.

Director/writer: Neil Jones.

Cast: Sebastian Street, Sophie Lovell Anderson and Joe Rainbow.

There are three rules of Zomball in Stag Night of the Dead: 1) stay together, 2) look out for the recharge station and 3) never humiliate a zombie. The characters in Stag Night of the Dead break all of these rules and unsurprisingly, many of the characters do not make it to the end credits. Stag Night of the Dead will release on DVD and iTunes January 9th and this film is a satisfying romp through a zombie apocalypse. The grainy film stock and a few poor character choices are the only elements that hamper a comedic movie watching time.

The film begins with six men on stag. Dean (Sebastian Street) is the groom and he has only one more night of freedom before marrying his very bitchy sweetheart.

Billboard – DVD Review
Danny (Joe Rainbow) has just been dumped by his girlfriend and has taken it badly. After toying with suicide he decides to try to rescue Katie (Anna Cox) who is being treated more than a little roughly by a random bloke, following her attempts to get away from her aggressive and cruel boyfriend Alex (Bruce Lawrence). The attempted rescue ends badly and as Katie patches Danny up back at her home, they begin to connect before Alex turns up and everything gets more than a little complicated.

*****

No less illustrious a pair of film-makers than Quentin Tarantino and Robert Rodriguez attempted to reinvigorate the grindhouse style of filming so beloved of their youth. That was back in 2007 with Death Proof and Planet Terror and it never really caught on. Films like Machete and Hobo With A Shotgun represent perhaps the death-throes of the otherwise moribund revival, which makes the claims...
