After Casting Rachel Brosnahan, 'Presumed Innocent' Season 2 Adds a 'Perfect Couple' Star
Image
The list of suspects is growing bigger for the sophomore season of Apple TV+’s crime drama, Presumed Innocent, as Deadline reveals that Jack Reynor is the latest to join the cast. The Midsommar star, who was recently revealed to be leading Lee Cronin’s upcoming take on The Mummy, will appear in the series opposite Rachel Brosnahan, who is still up in the clouds thanks to the massive success of James Gunn’s Superman. From what we know so far about the next set of episodes, the title will follow an anthology format, meaning there won’t be any crossover from the debut installment, which featured leading performances from Jake Gyllenhaal, Ruth Negga, Lily Rabe, and more.

The debut season of Presumed Innocent followed the familiar path of Scott Turrow’s 1987 bestselling novel of the same name and marked the second time the story received an on-screen telling, the...

After Wolf Man Flop, Blumhouse's Next Horror Movie Based on an Iconic Monster Wraps Filming

Lee Cronin's The Mummy reboot is all wrapped up, just like its titular monster. The filmmaker has revealed that production has concluded on the hotly anticipated Blumhouse movie.

Cronin shared a picture of his director's chair on Instagram yesterday afternoon with the caption, "All wrapped up." While it's tough to surmise, it looks like the image was taken on the set for The Mummy, specifically the tomb where the titular monster might be found by Jack Reynor and Laia Costa's married couple, who reportedly will run afoul of supernaturally sinister forces throughout the reboot. Production on The Mummy began in Ireland and Spain in late March, meaning that the movie had a three-month shoot.

Dakota Fanning said ‘yes’ to ‘The Perfect Couple’ the moment she heard Nicole Kidman was involved, without knowing anything else about the show
Image
Dakota Fanning laughs while recalling her spontaneous decision to join Netflix's suspense drama The Perfect Couple. "The first thing they said was, 'You're Nicole [Kidman]'s daughter-in-law, you're pregnant, and you're the murderer,' and I was like, 'Yes!'"

The Emmy-nominated actor tells Gold Derby, "I was introduced to the project through Susanne Bier, who I had worked with before and became very close to. She called me, and told me a bit about the character. I don't even think she told me the title of the show or the book that it was based on. She said Nicole Kidman was involved, and I said yes. That was my introduction to it, and then, of course, I read the scripts and found out who was playing all the other parts, and as the cast was coming together I got more and more excited, but Susanne and Nicole were the two biggest draws for me.

New Universal Monsters Film Finds Redemption on Streaming After Disastrous Box Office Run
Image
Universal Pictures owns the rights to a series of iconic horror characters from different classic novels, including Frankenstein's Monster, The Mummy, Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, The Invisible Man, Count Dracula, and others. Many have been successfully adapted in the classic era, but Universal has struggled with its remakes.

The latest Universal Monsters project was Wolf Man, which premiered in early 2025. The horror film had a lot of potential, as the studio was still basking in the success of 2020's The Invisible Man, and had hired the same director, Leigh Whannell, for the project. Although Wolf Man didn't live up to expectations, both critically and commercially, it has become a hit on Peacock following its recent release on streaming, per FlixPatrol.

Wolf Man debuted on Peacock on April 18 after its release in theaters on Jan. 17. It didn't take long for the horror film to claw its way to the...

Universal's New Monster Movie Sets Streaming Release Date on Peacock After Flopping in Theaters
Image
Universal Pictures owns the rights to some of the most iconic villains, which the studio named the "Universal Monsters." However, it has yet to find its rhythm with the recent adaptations.

Universal was planning to launch the Dark Universe, which was set to debut with 2017's The Mummy, and create an McU-like joint universe that would feature characters like Wolf Man, Dracula, The Invisible Man, and more. However, following the release of The Mummy and its poor reception, Universal canceled the universe. Leigh Whannell later revived the plans following the success of his 2020's The Invisible Man, and returned to the universe with 2025's Wolf Man. Following a disappointing box office run, Wolf Man will be heading on streaming on Apr. 18 on Peacock.

Wolf Man had been in development for over a decade by the time it hit theaters early this year. The movie was announced in 2014, and was set...
